  • 3rd map revealed!

This is Route 7 - Olorin Moor. Located south of Elda Forest and east of Eldania, it's your next stop after defeating Celebi's Augur and obtaining her talisman as well as the Cut technique.
Just in time: the entrance to Route 7 is blocked by a tree, which you can finally cut down. 🌳 ✂️ Once you've cleared the way, a Grass-type Alpha Pokémon
    https://www.sacredphoenix.fr/res/Images/Prez/Icones-16px/alpha_16px.png

with a recent history of trouble with humans will attack you (which is why it's blocked the path with brush).
You can then start climbing the path, which winds through the highlands to the western flank of the Argon Mountains. At the end of the path is the Caverne Argonne Cavern, marking the border between Eleanor and Iberia (aka Paldea).

Note that there is a shortcut to the south of Eldania along the north side of Glaseado Mountain, but this will be blocked for longer (since it's Rock Smash that's needed, not Cut, and even Strength to reach the highest plateaus). This shortcut also crosses a peat bog, the source of the Olorin, with its very specific local fauna, which will encourage you to return to this route once the corresponding HM have been unlocked.

Definitely will try this when this is completed.
Thank you for your interest. An update will arrive soon, but for the full game, you will have to be very patient :)

  • Here's the 4th map revealed: the town of Eldania

Located at the crossroads of four major axes, Eldania will be your last stop before climbing Route 7 and crossing the Iberian border. This charming village of farmers and stockbreeders (whose Thane is none other than Maëve) lies on the northern flank of Glaseado Mountain, which divides the land into plateaus: the lower one contains the dwellings, the middle plateau the cultivated area and the upper part the stockbreeding area. A wilderness area is located in a ravine, and a bridge provides access to a steep area (but it's better to have the means to push rocks to cross it).

For those who prefer to explore away from the main quest, you can head east up the Ithiel towards Route 6 and Cernos Lake, an alternative route to the Breliande Shire (but still inaccessible at this stage of the game).

The next map to be revealed will probably be that of the city of Gortelda, but we're waiting for tiles to finalize this major city (especially its port).
So there will be a break on exterior mapping, but the next news will concern development and a new release should be released soon!

  • Happy New Year and good health in 2024 🥳
We kick off this new cycle with a Sacred Phoenix feature under the sign of friendship. The Shiny Leaves of HGSS will be present in Keltios, rewarding you for traveling through Keltios with your Walking Pokémon bathed in love. 💕
At the same time, talking regularly to your "follow me" will reward you with items they can find, the same as with the Pick Up ability.

  • Field effects in the style of Pokémon Reborn are coming soon to Sacred Phoenix. One of the oldest Ideals to become a Truth, making it the first French fan-game to implement them. 🙂
My system was conceived as a whole encompassing terrain, climates and battle auras, all three influences having been balanced together. This video focuses on the climate system and its influence: no less than 15 weather conditions will be present in my fangame, some of which are amplifiable or cumulative.
It's also an opportunity to show off Mega-Dragonite ant its mastery of storms.

  • News dev diary entry:

I am announcing a new entry for the developer diary. It's been 7 months since I last wrote anything on it, preferring instead short and raw Youtube videos showing the latest coded features, announced for those who follow my channel, my Discord or my Twitter.

    Developer diaries #11 - January 2024

    Spoiler:

My old entries have been published on my Deviantart journal. For those who want to read them, this is where you will find them.

Concerning the latest videos, here they are:

    Pledge moves (Field Effects)

    And finally, the big news:

Tomorrow I'm releasing a Sacred Phoenix update containing all these new gameplay features.
Yes, things will finally move after 11 months without a public update.

  • An update for Sacred Phoenix (0.4.0.6) has just been released.
As said in the devs' diary in the previous news, this update is paradoxical in that it doesn't yet include any story content, but adds many extra features, the most memorable being Field Effects and dynamic wild encounters that pave the way for first Fakemons and regional forms.
In any case, this is a milestone that will allow me to finally concentrate on the scenario.
👉 In other words, the pace of updates will accelerate drastically. The next update may arrive within 2 weeks.

You can download it below with the changelog, and good news: saves from an old game are now compatible (but your creatures' moveset and Pokédex will be reset due to a change in structure, so be warned).

  • 🎻 Introducing a major new NPC in Keltios: the bard (or bardess, depending on location).
This character has the same functions as Jack of Sword and Shield ( https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Jack_(Galar) ). Like him, who used to be found in every Pokémon center in Galar, every inn will have at least one bard offering these services, all free of charge.
And a little bonus: these minstrels will agree to challenge you to a battle in front of the inn's clientele, allowing you to earn a little money. These battles will be repeatable, with a delay of 1 to 2 days before they can be faced again.

That's one more major feature completed, offering a welcome Quality of Life to optimize your party.

In terms of progress, Tintignac is completely finished, if we disregard the scripting inside the Kerdus Manor, which remains to be done. The stores are up and running, and even the mills have a purpose. (I'll let you find out.)
All that's left to write and script is the final phase of Chapter 1 (bringing the Score book back to Fintan in his manor.), as well as scripting the initiation to the forge.
+ Map and script events at Talonflames' Farm.
+ the finishing touch: place three Trainers on Route 2 and three more on the first half of Route 3, not forgetting to block the crossing points.

The next update will therefore have a minimum of 11 Trainers. That's quite a change from the 3 Trainers in the current demo, which has been stuck at this level for 2 or 3 years.

Oh wow, it's been a hot min since I've checked on this, so excited! I know it's still technically a demo we have currently, but I'm loving where this is going! I know when the game fully releases, it'll be so good! You've got me stoked and waiting for more!

  • In Pokémon Sacred Phoenix, the Thane Kerdus will be happy to introduce you to blacksmithing. This is your chance to discover the crafting function coded by Altarax.
Thanks to JasCas for the background sounds and MusicallyRoy for the manor music.

Another spoiler-free video showing the progress of the main storyline: how to dodge a rival trainer. Don't always rely on it to speed run the game.

I can't wait to offer this additional content, because I've already been stuck on this demo for 2 years, which only contains 30 minutes of main storyline. The next update will be full of new features and should double this duration.
Above all, we will go from 3 trainers (including 2 scripted fights) to more than ten.

  • I'm pleased to announce the integration of a new side quest in Pokémon Sacred Phoenix related to a Bidoof invasion (don't watch it if you don't want to be spoiled).
This quest will illustrate double horde battles, triple horde battles and SOS battles all at once. Complete it, and you'll unlock some very useful farm products for your adventure.

And a new Mega Evolution revealed: that of Luxray (which will be able to learn Volt Tackle)
    Pokémon Sacred Phoenix

    Other news:

For two weeks, I've been working IRL, which has significantly slowed the pace of development. I thought I'd be releasing the promised update this weekend. I only have the conclusion of Chapter 1 left to create and a few trainers to place on Routes 2 and 3
    Thank you for your patience.

    :hooh:
An update for Sacred Phoenix has just been released. Welcome to 0.4.0.7!
    :lordbidoof~1:

On the menu: triple, Horde and SOS battles... and above all...
    additional content!

After 2 years and 9 months in which the main quest ended at the start of Chapter 1, this one is now complete. We've also gone from 3 to 15 unique Trainers (not counting scripted wild battles) plus 2 side quests, giving you a total of 2 hours of gameplay if you do this optional content with the main story arc. Things should speed up in the future, now that 80% of the planned features have been coded.

Coming up: Gortelda, the Ivy Tower dungeon and the first Augur battle! The download link is available in the first post of this thread, as usual.

Please don't feel offended, but I sincerely wondered why the development of this game is so incredibly slow? If I am already wondering this, no doubt at least one other person in this world will be wondering the same thing.

Is there a huge shortage of developers willing to work on the game? You just indicated yourself above that it has already taken 2 years and 9 months and the game length is only a meager 30 minutes.

Thanks for the time, love and effort you put into this game.

  • A 0.4.0.8 hotfix has been published and fixes some spelling errors, a mouse wheel scrolling issue on the craft menu, as well as a crash with the Skin Shed ability. Don't hesitate to download the fangame again to get the latest fixes.

Damn, I didn't see your post which was hidden between two of my messages.

There are three reasons for this slow development (which I admit myself)
    - The game is very ambitious and requires a lot of custom assets (especially medieval, which is very rare in Pokémon, and I'm not counting the dozens of OCs that need to be done in artwork).
    - During these 33 months, most of the energy was devoted to coding features and rebuilding the databases from scratch. (Pokémon Reborn also rebuilt its databases from scratch, I'm not the only one).
    - The team working on it is small and has never managed to really grow despite 6 years of existence. (Note: we are open for recruitment => https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pokémon-sacred-phoenix-recruitment.495823/ )

Normally, a project of this ambition and this age should have around twenty people. There are only half a dozen of us.

Despite these difficulties, I remain hopeful and I always move forward. If you join the official Discord, you'll see that almost every day I make small progress.
