Pikapikapika123 is more creative than "Fishyman", and "Redstar" (which I use everywhere I go if I can), not to mention all the other millions of usernames out there that may or may not be creatively-inspired. Username simply is no indication of the person behind it.
Some people, believe it or not, were born after us. I was lucky enough to be born in 1990, so I happen to know about and have played the first and second generation of Pokemon. Other people, a great deal, were born a few or more years afterward. Maybe their parents bought them Platinum just as a game to play in the car and they liked it, but they didn't become part of the fandom and so would have no idea Platinum was part of a series.
Like I said before, HeartGold and SoulSilver aren't going to be known about outside the gaming community, and even then probably only by those that like Pokemon the way we do.
