When it comes to a theme for a protagonist, time to search in the Final Fantasy series again. This time I will go with Red Wings from Final Fantasy IV. The protagonist it is the theme of is Cecil.
Since Phoneix and Athena's theme has been mentioned, let's top it off with Apollo Justice! His theme is what got me through the second case in Dual Destinies, haha.
Oho, another pick ya totally saw coming a mile away..
Monokuma has two themes. There's a jolly one that's typically described as weird, and then this one... the harbinger of Despair. "Upupupupu! Here's a twisted motive to kill a fellow student!"
Born in a world of strife... Against the odds... We choose to fight! BLOSSOM DANCE!
Ok, so this one isn't exactly an official character theme. But, I'm including it anyway. Why? Because it plays once in the entire game. And do you know when it plays? When Dunban officially joins the party (with a super badass entrance by the way). Many fans consider this the unofficial theme for Dunban, due to the overall badassery of both the song, and the character.
Day 12:
Masked Dedede's Theme/Dedede's Royal Payback (Kirby Triple Deluxe)
You don't know how badly I wanted to include every single rendition of King Dedede's theme for this list. Alas, I had to pick and choose from the many amazing renditions. But none could invoke the same feelings as this one. Its grand and frantic (at least, for a Kirby game), fitting the controlled king perfectly. Not only that, but the game actually pulls a bait and switch with this theme. In the first form of his boss battle, he has the regular boss theme playing. Which would've been disappointing, if it weren't for the axe-crazed second form. And the amazing music.
sorry to join so late in the game but i need to get in on this c: HEH
don't worry i don't need an emblem so i'll only do the ones that i actually have ideas for (。 >艸<) sorry if any of these have already been posted, though.
day 1: your favourite song / Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
Spoiler:
this is actually really difficult since there's so many songs i adore, but currently it's this one.
day 3: a song that makes you happy / Okami
Spoiler:
everything about this cheers me up so much!
day 4: a song that makes you sad / Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Spoiler:
this hasn't made me sad so much, but when played at sentimental moments, it made me cry more than once ( ´ ▽ ` )ゞ
day 7: a song that gets you geared up for a challenge / Okami
Spoiler:
just listen.
day 8: a song that scares you / Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
Spoiler:
this is one of very few songs that has legitimately had me terrified. the music that sounds like heavy breathing, the immense sense of dread in the air - i can almost smell the thick, disgusting scent of dried up blood in the air.
day 9: a song that annoys you / Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire
Spoiler:
this isn't an annoying song in itself, but i never liked that it replaced the music of whatever area you were in at the time. so i would always get on my bike on the edge of two different areas so i could keep the music as it was (。 >艸<)
day 10: a song that plays on the overworld / Golden Sun
Spoiler:
nostalgiaaaaa
day 11: a protagonist's theme / Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Spoiler:
finally time to dish this one out. it's one of my all-time favourite songs c:
day 12: a villain's theme / Pokémon Colosseum
Spoiler:
this isn't very villainous at all. but it's one of the most memorable villain's themes alright xD
When it comes to a theme for a video game villain, this is the one I have in mind. The one I choose to do is Saren from Mass Effect. By the way, it also doubles as the game over/mission failure music. So if Commander Shepard ever goes down during a mission, Saren automatically wins.
So this is supposed to be the official theme for Sephiroth. I have to say that I like One-Winged Angel better, though this one is still pretty good. It's really creepy and unsettling. In other words, I like it.
...of course I was going to go with something from NieR; it has the greatest soundtrack in all of creation! This is a pretty monumental boss battle in the game as well...plus the bosses are singing their own theme. The only other time I can think of that that has happened is Fighting Fate in FFXIII, and between the two songs, this is easily the superior one. So. <3
There are many good tunes I could have chosen, but I wanna give Okami some more representation.
Okami has a great soundtrack and this is only one of many cool songs. This track plays during the boss fights with Waka, and you can hear segments of his theme weaved in. It was also tense accompaniment to the most difficult Demon Gate challenge for a Stray Bead late in the game.
I swear, You Will Know Our Names and Mechanical Rhythm could be my answer for every single one of these days. But that would be boring.
That Person's Name Is (Bravely Default)
I'm a sucker for orchestral rock. Seriously. That's the reason why I love Xenoblade music and of course, Bravely Default music. This song plays whenever you're fighting one of the asterisk holders, who are some of the most colourful bosses you'll ever meet in a video game. Fast-paced, intense and with a godly combo of violin and electric guitar, this game gets you pumped up for fighting the varied bosses of Bravely Default.
