Brogan
It was a good job that Brogan was turned away from Calnith as he spoke. She was finding it increasingly difficult not to burst out in peals of laughter at his words. The poor boy actually sounded as though he truly /believed/ what he was saying!! Firstly, his friends /couldn't/ be in powerful places...at least when compared to her own circle. She was a Houghton-Taylor, and she had never heard the name NeverWind mentioned in her circles before. Her circles were the elite - economically, politically, socially. The Untouchables, in a much more positive sense than the term was usually utilised.
Nonetheless, the let him go without picking up on the matter. It wasn't worth it. If Calnith needed to believe in his own fictitious self-importance to keep himself off the psychologist's couch then who was she to destroy him?...yet at least.
With a yawn, she changed into her regular clothes and left the dressing room. As soon as she stepped outside, a maid walked over to her and bowed, handing her a small brown-wrapped package. Frowning, Brogan opened the accompanying card and read it with eyebrows raising with each word:
"My dear B,
I am sorry that I couldn't be here to see you back off to the Academy. Unavoidable business - of course you understand, I won't even ask.
This is for you. You will find it useful.
I love you sweetie,
Daddy x'
Tucking the card into her bag, Brogan smiled even as she frowned, turning the box over in her hands. Now was not the time to open it. She pushed it to the bottom of her bag, covering it with her scarf, before making her way out to the coaches. Once back at the Academy, Brogan would lie in bed with the box on her stomach, watching it with a rising sense of purpose. Once the had opened it? Well. She would most definitely consider herself one of The Untouchables. In EVERY sense of the term.
Selene
Despite hoping to, Selene just couldn't sleep on the coach home. She sat with Ryan on her lap, her Raichu curled up asleep, she could feel his soft snores against her thigh, making her smile. Despite everything that had happened, she felt comofortable there with her Ryan, as though everything that was wrong in her world had, for those moments, been righted.
Looking out of the window, Selene's eyes widened at the sight of Saffron City at nighttime - the lights strewn out before her like fairies playing in a dark garden. The image seemed to calm her, wiping everything from her mind other than Ryan and the City Lights in front of her.
