Sony copies Nintendo. Again.

No-one cares about that. Are you going to prove that 'PlayStation' was copied from Nintendo or not?

sure :)
Nintendo asked Sony to develop a CD-ROM add-on called "PlayStation" for the SNES. However after Sony revealed that they were developing it, Nintendo instead went to Philips. This caused Sony to consider abandoning their research, however instead they used what they had developed so far and make it into a full blown console. This led to Nintendo filing a lawsuit claiming breach of contract and attempted, in U.S. federal court, to obtain an injunction against the release of the PlayStation, on the grounds that Nintendo owned the name. The federal Judge presiding over the case denied the injunction.
so it was nintendo's fault realy but oh well ;D

All that proves is that Sony made a CD-Rom which nintendo ended up not deciding to use...that doesn't help your argument, at all...

Just cause you watch G4 doesn't make you a hardcore gamer. Hardcore gamers have their own opinions, they don't just bleed off of others to sound cool.

y'what? whats G4???
anyway im just gonna stop arguing with you now...

heh, not to get this locked, but sony has stolen many things, touch screen (never came out, got sued for it), stealing rumble technology (less known, and not stolen from nintendo, got sued for it), they even tried to make a game (or some 3rd party made it) for the PSP with demented mario characters (newer, not released, nor sued yet).

I'm not going to say sony copied that controller because of date things, though they might have had a spy ^^. anyways, sony has copied many things (though its not like microsoft and nintendo haven't) but its business, thats the way things work.

Actually, Sony DID copy Nintendo when they made the Eye Toy. Anyone remember the Gameboy Camera?

Every single company out there, by the standards given here, have "copied" or "stolen" ideas from other companies. It's just part of business. Take a marketing class or something.

For example, both Microsoft and Apple took the idea of a GUI OS from IBM. Now the GUI is the staple of both Microsoft's and Apple's operating systems.

This perhipheral, however... only vaguely reminds me of a Revolution controller. If it hadn't been brought up, I wouldn't have even made to connection.

Actually Sony has had this thing for awhile, and it is pretty darn basic.

Microsoft actually has something more closer to the revolution controller that resembles a wand, but the chances of them using it are very slim.

I hate people that say that other companies copy from others. Did you know that nintendo coppied from attari which he coppied from Willy Higinbotham, he created the first VG in history.

We all copy from other people or companies. You copied from your father the way to walk, the languaje and all so do not come with crap that someone copied something.

I hate Nintendo or Sony fanboys, though im not a great gamer.

The eye toy came before the Rev. controller.

@Zero Ex- The nintendo was not a copy of the atari!! Were the famicon's contorlers joysticks?(no) Was their first game a cheap nock off of pong? (no)
The nintendo was created when videogame were going out of style (yes that really happened once!) So nintendo was doing what you Sony fanboys call nintendo doing something stupid. Guess what? They were a hit, the games were way better than the Atari's And they saved gaming!!
Stop dissing nintendo, I belive you owe an apology to them!

Of course sony will copy someone, It's the only way sony knows how to live! Did you know that the Walkman (Sony's pilot invention) was stolen! (my teacher told me this) really an american made it and the founder of sony met with him, asked him for the plans, saying he would help him, but instead he ditched him, started his own company, what did the inventor get? Diddly. That is also why I dislike Sony, th bunch of dirty theives! So of course, they will steal it, make it look like they made it, and of course, in traditon, do something to make it suck, but it will still sell better for some strange reason, It's repetitive history, I tell you!

This new toy of Sony's will never work. What is this thing supposed to do, anyway? Make you act like Luke Skywalker?

I say, scrap the idea and save it until 2015.

I think Sony Copied Nintendo's Mario Kart Double Dash for the upcoming: "Crash Tag team Racing". It's just a guess.

Still, nintendo copied the video games. Nintendo didn't was the first to create a video game. Maybe he was the first one creating one good video game, but he wasn't the first one creating a video game.

About that, it is true. When the first color tv was created. The man reunited with sony, the next day the man was dead in a hotel. Coughpoisoncough.

lol, that's funny, didn't hear that part, didn't know Japan was that harsh... And if no one was allowed to copy video games, where would we be? Atari would be the ONLY system, There would be almost no third party games, Cause most of them copy a first party game, just to summarize, Gaming would stink. That is why I think Nintendo saved gaming, I mean, the last of the gamers were quitting! Nintendo took a risk and created the NES/Famicon And instantly became the most powerful gaming company until Sega became their worst rival! and now look, their best friends! Hope Nintendo Doesn't try that with Sony (imagines Mr. Miamoto being poisoned by Head of Sony) *GASP*

Well, the creator of the tv was a mexican. He go to EUA, there he was killed. It was not in japan.

Now as i said without Willy Higinbotham there will not be any Video games. So we owe our gratitude to him.

this question go to most of the persons in this thread, How do you know nintendo did not stealed the GB camera from another company?

I don't see how that's copying Nintendo. Is it for the Harry Potter games or what? I don't think Nintendo has come up with anything that high tech, but maybe I'm wrong. I think it's Nintendo doing the copying, what with the Revolution having a remote and all...the PS2 so did that first.
BTW Deviruchi I love your icon ^^

Good point Ex, But I Doubt it, When somebody steals, They will normally not use the stolen item much, set it aside and try to ignore it, That is what sony did, they just kinda let it sell. But from seeing how much nintendo played around with the GB camera, I can almost assure you Nintendo developed it (I play my beta of Regal over and over and over...)
