Funny you should mention this... I am so very particular about having pokémon the gender that they appear. For example, Mr. Mime (bad example, though, because I hate mimes!) should definitely be a MISTER. Oh, and another good one, Alakazam... has a moustache... therefore, should I ever train one, it'd have to be a male. Haha, I guess I'm just picky. :P

I'll be honest. I've always been irked by humanoid Pokemon. It just always seemed strange to have animal and plant pokemon next to people pokemon? WTF?

That and other things... Like a living pink balloon pokemon? >_<

Eeek! Like Jynx. Good lord, those things give me the creeps.

I sort of agree. There are way too many female looking ones, like Buneary, and even creepier females, like Jynx. However, there are male looking types like Lucario, and Charizard.

One thing I don't get though, why make Eevees mostly male? Personally I think they look female...

I'm just guessing, but I think its so Eevee is harder to breed making them seem special or rare.

Machamp can be female!!! I had a female gym teacher that looked like Machamp once... We did lots of sit-ups:C

But seriously? I think Alakazam looks 100% masculine.

Vulpix looks like a girl, and so does Jiggilypuff. And, well, It would take too long to name all the ones that look like boys/girls, I just named the ones off the top of my head

No one has mentioned Chikorita's family, they all look female but 7/8 are male.

Can you honestly say that looks like a male?

Besides there are plenty of male only Pokemon, like Latios, Tyrogue family, Tauros, unfortunately not Machamp.

Makuhita (battling it now) looks like a male Sumo-wrestler. :D;

Other than Pokemon , there is also these women at the Battle Facilities (why only women ??) .

Man . Male Clefairy....

empoleon,ursaring,gyarados, magikarp O_o.....strange just strange

Pretty sure there a whole bunch of masculine Pokemon...they make up a majority for sure. O_o
I think some of you guys are being ~*!*~SEXIST~*!*~ :O

Although there are statistically more exclusively female Pokemon, although only by a margin of four, I'll give you that.
I'm just guessing, but I think its so Eevee is harder to breed making them seem special or rare.
Right you are. Assuming you don't have a Ditto, there's a very small (12.5%) chance that you'll be able to breed rare and one-time Pokemon like Eevee, Togepi (and the other egg Pokemon, Riolu), Combee (so it's hard to get a Vespiquen x_x;), Snorlax, and the fossil and starter Pokemon (including Relicanth).

The Machop, Abra, Growlithe, Electabuzz, Magmar, and Makuhita families, by the way, are 75% male.

Aaaand, both of the Pokemon I've heard mentioned as feminine (Jigglypuff and Clefairy), along with the families of Vulpix, Snubbull, Skitty, and Glameow, and the Pokemon Azurill (not including evolutions), Luvdisc, and Corsola, are all 75% female.

Anyway, feminine Pokemon sure are refreshing to me, since I like them, and there are more masculine Pokemon in my opinion. BD

rilou and lucario r 75% male... its near impossable 2 find a female lucario/rilou O.o
87.5%*

Other than Pokemon , there is also these women at the Battle Facilities (why only women ??) .
The male to female ratio is 4:3 in Emerald and 3:3 in Platinum. And since Caitlin doesn't battle, it becomes 3:2. Men are a majority actually even though women are more populous. ;o

No one has mentioned Chikorita's family, they all look female but 7/8 are male.

Can you honestly say that looks like a male?
Since it's that young, I can say it's a (slightly effeminate) young boy, actually. Doesn't look too girly to me. :3

If only Nintendo would make most Pokemon with two, alternative looks for its gender. [sigh] Now we have male Lopunny and female Machamp...
