Emerald hack: Pokemon Emerald Balanced Edition

But I do mean through the game.
There are a few good tanks, but I feel like there should be more to it, more options to builds.
My point is that we have very good pokes and lots of pokes that dont come even close. Aka imbalanced.
Some pokes I keep looking at them and thinking where the hell could I put them, trying to lvl them and see if the moves could turn them into something useful, thinking if it could turn out to be a tank, a slow setup Sweeper, a Jack of all trades, a support, in the end you could only make a bad revenge killer of it.
Anyway, my point is, maybe if you could combine and balance the stats and movepool it would feel a lot better.
My idea to enhance the buff/debuff system could fix some of it IMO.

But again, this is my opinion, i did not played the game 100%. I defeated the league, got all the legendaries and played a little at the Frontier in the v1.00. (Did with a balanced team, almost hyper aggresive one)

Currently I started over in 1.02 and Im trying to run the 1 type challenge (normal type and pokes around lv40-50)
few things to consider:

Chansey and blissey are still good spec walls
Azuril has decent glasscannon stats but terrible move pool
Marill is a bad poke
Azumarill is a good mixed wall
Igglybuff has decent glasscannon stats and somewhat ok movepool
Miltank is a bad poke
Zigzagoon is a bad poke
Spinda feels very good but I do think his type is a little op.
Vigoroth is stupidly strong

From last run (played till around lv 65):
Nidorino/king felt good but i missed more options to build
Minun felt like an ok all rounded but with limited pool and ability.
Beautifly was a very strong special sweeper (mine was dif than is in the doc, higher special attk than defense)
Pidgeot was a good attk sweeper
Flareon was a bad poke.
Rest of them were hm slaves.

Just a few notes from playing a bit

Maybe a boost in some abilities could help too? Things like Rough Skin are just anoying but not really effective the way the 600stats are setup.

Also, I believe you forgot to add lickitung to the wild pokemon in meteor falls. I have even opened up the rom on advance map and it isn't there... Can someone who is playing tell me if you managed to find it and/or can gegalix check if it really is in the hack?

I have been paying to attention to your feedback for this next patch!
Also to answer your question Zaderos, Glooms,Lairons and Scizors hold Masterballs because I reduced their catch rate to 1, the lowest possible catch rate. Because of how hard they are to catch, I thought that a Master Ball was a worthy reward for such an accompishment.
Anyway on to the Patch Notes:

Beautifly's BST was incorrect. This has been corrected. Thank you henriqueha for spotting this error.
Lickitung was accidentally removed from the game in a patch. This has been corrected. It now can be found in Meteor Falls. Thank you Zaderos for spotting this error.
Minun now has a revamped movepool.
Jirachi now has Flash Fire as its Ability
Psywave has been replaced by Aura Sphere. This was due to there being no strong and consistent Special Fighting type Move. Multiple Pokemon now learn this move.
Dizzy Punch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, and Shadow Punch now deal 95 Damage but only have a 5% chance of inflicting a status.
Muddy Water is now a ground type Special Move.

Feedback is always appreciated!

I persisted on catching a scizor for my pokedex and when i found out that they held master balls I just started using thief on them and now I have over 30 masterballs... I guess this is acceptable, those pokemon are pretty rare and it does take quite a while to get them...

Since this is intended, I personnaly don't mind having masterballs being farmable but I think there should only be 1 pokemon with them and it should be mewtwo in the altering cave or something like that, not random pokemon. Also, great work on the hack and this latest update! I'm loving it!

I finally fixed the Alternate Edition glitch that was discovered by rajahmed72. A glitch free version is available.
On top of that, I released a 2nd Version of the Alternate Edition.
It cuts Politoed, The Houndour line, and Tentacool. They were replaced with Goodra, who evolves from Dragonair when exposed to a Water Stone, The Litten line which replaces the Houndour line, and Mareanie. Tentacruel is still in the game and can be found exclusively in The Abandoned Ship. The best way to catch it is by Using a Super Rod.

If anyone else discovers any bugs just inform me and i'll get on it!

Is there a pokemon locations guide for this? I want to try to do the Professor Oak Challenge in this game.

Is there a pokemon locations guide for this? I want to try to do the Professor Oak Challenge in this game.

There is! The locations guide is included in the Bundle for the latest version, Version 5. You'll find it on the first post here in The Link's section by the bundles from the previous versions.

Hello! I'm wondering if there's a locations guide to the Alternate Edition? Looking to complete the Pokedex but the Version 5 Doc doesn't have the new Pokemon. Also, I am unable to get Nidorino for some reason. Nidoran immediately evolves into Nidoking at level 16. I am using the bug fix version but not version 2. Also, since the game now has mega Pokemon (Sort of) How would you get them? I have Medicham and Mawile but they won't evolve somehow. Also, is Blissey not available?

There unfortunately is no locations guide to any of the Alternate Versions.
Nidorino was cut from the Alternate Versions as well.
Medicham and Mawile both evolve via level up.
Blissey is also available through level up if you have a chansey.

Most of the Mega Evolutions are available through level up.
