Pokemon ROM hacking was my introduction to the internet, way back when I was 13 (I turn 30 this year).

The ROM hacking community, particularly on these forums, was where I spent most of my teenage life and where I made my first online friends.

I'm not very active here anymore but back then I loved playing new ROM hacks, and while I still try and play the odd ROM hack, nothing has really hit me.

This hack brought all of those old memories of playing ROM hacks back to me. I enjoyed every moment of it, I'm still working on completing my dex and finishing all the missions, whereas most ROM hacks I would have dropped the moment I beat the league. Easily my favourite ROM hack. Thank you. Kisses mwah mwah.

EDIT: Oh yeah, was cool to see my old friend DrFuji as an NPC in the game too :)

And this is why Pokémon Unbound is arguably one of the Best ROMHacks of all time, perhaps too good since it can set the bar pretty high for other ROMHacks, but with the advancement of technology and new decomp versions, on top of an increased accessibility to develop new Hacks, Unbound may finally meet its match in the coming years, we have Pokémon Lazarus for example, or Pokémon Emerald Rogue, who are examples of how the scene has evolved so far.

I'd say you have returned on a pretty amazing moment, I don't want to sound too theatrical here, but we may be on a second golden age right now, so welcome back and enjoy what would be one of the best years in the ROMHacking scene.

Anyone got this playable on Texas Nspire CX Cas? It is so laggy that is unplayable...tried to turn off BGM, but when I try to access audio settings the game crashes. Any help would be appreciated.

I had no idea that a Texas Nspire CX Cas can play GBA ROMS.

Guys, this Pokémon Unbound is straight fire! The storyline hooks you, and the battle difficulty is just the right kind of challenge. Graphics and music are pure vibes. Props to the devs for such an epic game!

There's only one problem with the game. . .

Once you play Unbound and you develop this "romance" for it, trying something else feels a bit underwhelming, because let's be honest, Unbound set the bar way too high, it's pretty damn difficult to pass it.

However, thanks to Emerald decomps, and a plethora of creative minds out there, this bar is getting lower each year that passes (Emerald Rogue, The Pit, Lazarus, PokéScape the RuneScape hack).

But! With Skeli being back in the game it's only a matter of time for Unbound to reach its final state (100% complete) and essentially crown itself as the true golden standard of romhacking.

Exciting times lie ahead!

Yeah, I totally get what you mean. Unbound really did set a crazy high standard, and it makes a lot of other hacks feel a bit dull in comparison. But it's cool to see all these new projects popping up, and honestly, the creativity out there is wild.

I've said this once and I'll repeat myself, we're on (what seems to be) another golden age of ROMHacking, not just for GBA but also Switch (with the BDSP projects going on).

The perks of getting older and wiser I guess haha.

Sure its a Gen 2 rom hack but its absolutely one of the best overall right now, on par with Unbound I'd say

I did as well, so I checked the Discord and the current lin k on the Discord is different from the one here (no idea why)

Coming from a VERY casual observer, please rethink your approach to character design.
I understand that you like edgy anime characters with red hair, but the sheer amount of characters that look almost the same is comical.
You need 2 of them to look the same for story reasons? Alright, then make sure to not use that color for any other major characters.

The game is pretty much completed. I don't think it's feasible at this point to change character designs. Also,

There is, but odds are changing hair colors is probably not part of those patches, especially when you think about the point qazmachuck made (the one in the spoiler tag)

More likely we getting the last of the unobtainable Pokemon and that cube quest will finally be completeable xD

There are more changes Skeli shared on Discord. They are gameplay-related though, I don't remember anything about new content (other than Cube Corp. etc.)

Oh of course, those were just the two things I remember xD

The Cube Quest thing and the missing Pokedex. Aka game-related as you said. Changing hair colors, especially when they...serve a purpose, probably won't be changed.
