I just reached Gym 2, and boy do I have to say that the 2nd gym leader is probably the laziest and the most incompetent way to make a battle hard. You literally have the resources to make the game difficult but reasonable at this point of the game as you have the pokeemerald engine, which I'm pretty sure has the smart AI seen in games like Inclement Emerald and Elite Redux. But seriously, Light Clay + Dual Screens in Gym 2 is straight up unreasonable considering the exp resource of the game at v1.1 is currently limited, not to mention the wish protect Sylveon that can wall you considering no one would've seen a Fairy type leader as the 1st gym sets a tone that the gym leaders remain the same but they changed, which greatly affected my team composition. Granted I managed to beat Gym 2, but it took luck to do so and needed specific rolls to be able to pull the win. Now I have experience with a lot of the hardest rom hacks and fan games imaginable, with the hardest I played being Rejuvenation intense mode, but those games give you enough ways to gain exp to train new mons for fights like this, yet this rom hack doesn't give enough of the exp required if you ever messed up team building, which of course, the average player would do considering this is a NEW rom hack. I know you have said that you managed to beat gym 2 easily since you know what was coming, and that is, in my opinion, a wrong point of view, as you built these teams to cater to yourself, which led to a terrible team building. As a developer, you should've viewed in the lens of a new player, which won't expect what the next type is considering this is set 20 years in the future. I also didn't like how you're trying to limit players options just to make the game difficult, which is peak laziness in my eyes considering Unbound didn't need to rely on this to make the battles hard, and that game is more generous in terms of giving the players tools, yet it manages to be more difficult than this. I just hope that the difficulty of the battles stay this way when I finally got my hands on high quality pokemon in the lategame, because otherwise I would've a lot to say regarding this as it would present what I call, a reverse difficulty curve.
