Emerald hack: Pokémon Emerald++

There's plenty of other bugs that need to be addressed as well.

Such as No Z-Move use in Battle Frontier and Link Battles and The Battle Salon/Multi Battle in Battle Tower being utterly broken and unplayable.

And of course the Battle Arena challenge force resetting the game mid battle if you so much as hover over a move that's either completely ineffective(ground > Electric) or Super Effective and essentially terminating the streak at the Arena.

There's probably more bugs that I'm not aware of but recently I found that the Battle Bag in the Battle Pyramid can't hold up to more than 1 or 2 items at a time and can only start with 3 items in it from the last challenge. Something I was easily able to combat using the debug feature to hack in items.

Introducing: Pokémon Emerald++
Emerald++ is my first ever ROM hack based on the pokeemerald decomp. Thanks to everyone who contributes to it (and the expansion)! I couldn't have done this without that foundation. I started this ROM hack back in August as a fun way to learn the ins-and-outs of the decomp and idea after idea snowballed it into a full project. Is it unique? ...probably not, I'm sure there's tons and tons of "Emerald but better/modern" hacks out there, but I honestly didn't even know about them until I was well into this project. My hope is that, even though this may not stand out as unique, it will still be a fun "modded" Emerald experience. I hope you enjoy!

Features:
  • All Pokémon through Gen VII available
  • Most everything in the Expansion Branch (credit: rh-hideout)

Special Thanks:

A special thank you to everyone listed (and many who were not listed but contributed to the simple modifications thread)! I have learned so much since starting this project. There are a few bugs, but I think I'm done working on this for right now. I have other ideas I want to get to (and also art school :D). Truly I wanted to make a game that I'd enjoy playing, and I think I've done just that, so that's enough for me. I hope you enjoy!

made an account just to say i LOVEE this mod, thank you so much fr.
I ended up putting in over 150 hours into this rom and it's just the most fun I've had with a pokemon game in a long time, keep up the great work ^^

Great mod, but I can't get Fly HM cause May never showed up after Weather Institute on route 119

I think the bug is that hms and tms got reversed somehow and if you only get one hm, you can't ever use it again. Most of it is fine because you get items like the axe and scuba gear, but for fly, (and I think waterfall, haven't gotten there yet) you don't get any key item so if you use it once it disappears forever. The only way I found was to get it via a code breaker cheat. The cheat is the one you use to get any item in the game, but the item codes in this mod are all jumbled up for some reason and I couldn't find a directory or anything where I could find a list of all the item codes. So I decided to just go at it. Spent about 3 hours just trying codes. I searched the github and found it that it would be after 100 TMs, so since I knew where tms were, it was easier, but harder still since the codes were alphanumeric. Somehow I accidentally clicked E instead of 2 and I landed on HM5. I finally struck gold, and just went to B instead of E to get HM02 FLY. Sorry for the rant.

TLDR : I lost my HM FLY and spent 3 hours trying cheat codes to get one.

The code for code breaker is
82005274 02AA for HM1
82005274 02AB for HM2 … so on till
82005274 02AF for HM6. Idk where the last 2 are. Don't really want to look for them rn cause it's late. Have fun.

Edit cause I found the last 2 HMs lol. I know I said I didn't want to look for them but I couldn't help myself for even 5 mins. Anyways….
82005274 02B0 for HM7 waterfall
82005274 02B1 for HM8 Dive

There is this bug/problem where if you take mudpik as your starter, you can't complete the pokedex (without trading) since there is no torchic random encounter for that. Also some other starters from other regions but mainly this is the issue. Without it regional dex entries can't be made because neither the player nor the rival take torchic.

HI i have completed my pokedex with the exception of aerodactyl
and i cannot find the old amber any place

someone help out?

hi yall.. nice mod!
how do i get an alohan raichu? formchanger and stones didnt work

Hey there! Found a thing! Using Minior as your lead makes a creep follow you around😔✊ sighhh the life of a strong independent woman

(He also bothers NPCs and blocks their way, like how your player could stop NPCs from moving around)

(Also I'm not sure if the shell form of minior has the buffed defense/unshelled form has buffed attacks and speed like how it would in sun and moon)

Can I max the IVs of pokes on this hack? Can I modify EVs? Can I change natures?

Can't say if this is monitored by the creator still but if anyone can provide a list of the codes to buy items and berries I'd greatly appreciate it.
As all the usual emerald codebreaker/gameshark codes are different items due to the added features from other generations 🩷

Can I max the IVs of pokes on this hack? Can I modify EVs? Can I change natures?
IVs and Naturescan be changed with the bottle caps and mints found in Lilycoves Dept store
EVs would have to be done the old fashioned way with the Macho Brace from the Winstrate family and the respective berry resets/pokemon KOs
