FireRed hack: Pokémon Crystal Advance Redux

It might be a bug or it could be the Emulator you're using. Are you using mGBA?

In case you are using mGBA or a real Gameboy-like, this might be a bug. I would ask on the Discord as you'll get a quicker answer either way.
 
I am gonna ask a silly question but..are the starters in this shiny locked or is my luck just that terrible? I have been soft resetting for a shiny totodile for a good long while and haven't seen one at all

As for not wanting to join my discord, again that is fair; but I do things that are convenient for me - this hack is after all first and foremost built for myself. I provide it publically for others to play because I respect the work of others.

I am not going to change how I distribute something just because someone doesn't want to do something. I don't want to spend half my day putting it in places that I really am not invested in just so someone else has easier access to it.

Essentially, as LaZ says, Liquid Crystal can bee freely used as a ROM base as long as credits is provided.

There are plenty of Johto based hacks out there that are actually far better than my hack. Just look at GS Chronicles or Crystal dust for example - excellent hacks and achieve far more than I ever could.

If you have such an abundance of free time to work on this, do you have a progress estimate or a time-frame to completion? (even a vague subject to change one I mean).

I understand not wanting to constantly upload the patches as the version update patches are in motion and changing frequently. But maybe once the project is totally complete you could upload the patch here? I have a discord acc so I could easily join, but I'm also not an active discord user so I understand that not everyone will want to or even be able to join a discord to get it. It would just help it reach more players. But similarly it is your prerogative if you want to eventually provide that additional access.

All that said it's great to see a Liquid Crystal project! Best of luck with development!

It has been a while since I have visited this thread.

Decided to upload new images as the originals no longer reflected the work that has gone into the game since this thread was made.

If you mean battling with other players then you can't. Battling and trading are disabled for now. It has been worked on, but it was not stable enough to put it inside the game and its development is now on hold.

They are not shiny locked and the shiny ratio for them is the same as for wild Pokemon (1/256).
 
I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everybody who has been coming onto my discord and bombarding me with teeny tiny minor bugs. I have fixed so many this month (November 2024). Quite a few of the larger issues have also been solved so this game is better than it ever has been!

Might actually be able to get some content updates done soon ;)

Yeah same as there's been a lot of times when I'll see a hack that looks interesting but I can't play it as it's locked behind something that requires me to sign up & I don't want like 20 accounts that I'm only going to use once.

Trust me, I know exactly what you mean. Also, please feel 100% completely free to share around those 2 cloud drive folder links I've created to anyone else who's interested in playing through this hack. I'd genuinely really appreciate that so much. By the time you see this reply, I've released an update to those 2 cloud drive folders by replacing the patch file with a fresh copy of the latest version of this hack and I also added in other related files.
