    Overview:
    Pokemon Online (POL) is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that involves quests, player personalisation, persistent NPCs, sparring and general exploration. Players will have the ability to train and catch pokemon while battling other trainers online in real-time. The POL game is closely based on the original Pokemon Gameboy games, with most of the traditional elements remaining intact. The POL enviroment is completely 2D and replicates the graphics used in the original games. The POL MMORPG has the ability to support hundreds and even thousands of simultaneously connected players. This means that you will interact in a vast virtual world, with many kingdoms and quests, with players from all over the world.

    The POL game has no end, it just keeps evolving. POL has many quests, events, tools for building new content and personalising your character, games within the game, chat, forums and much more. POL has been a prominent part of the Pokémon fandom since 1999. Beyond providing the fundamentals of any MMORPG - a dedicated team, a fantastic forum community, and professionalism, Pokemon Online has made for itself a mission. Pokemon Online seeks to involve the community wherever possible.

    I didnt get the screen with Oak on and also i didnt get the part or viridian city. Those screenshots are not what is on the game at this point in time!
     
    How come I get the version where Scott greets you, and you have screens of Prof Oak meeting you?
     
    I would assume that would be because this release is just a beta and those parts of the game are not completed fully.
     
    It is an outrage that any game would release a public beta of this level of lameness, at most, this should be a private beta, but not something to flaunt to the whole pokemon fandom.

    I'll go ahead and show to you guys what this lame game really looks, like, and you will see just how much you have been lied to... By the way, 5 minutes into this game and the whole server crashes, all goes to lamety...

    Here is that lovely playing screen they made sure you knew about, btw this is the ONLY room in the whole GAME! Thats right, you are surrounded by a montage of lamety... BTW: Weezing can self destruct without dying due to the fact that the only thing you can do in the game is press the name of the attack and it gives a random attack value, there are NO items, NO gyms, NO other maps, honestly there is nothing about this game that makes it pokemon....

    Here is the wonderfully(sarcasm) done battle screen! Not that awesome one they lied to you about in their screenshot, this is in fact the lamest pokemon fangame ever made, and its been in development for nearly a whole year, thats right, and these screens are what they have accomplished!

    Over-all, this game isnt even worth downloading, dont even go to the site, its way too misleading, when I first downloaded, I was sure the whole game was a scam, and it is!

    Beta or not, this is completely unworthy of any pokemon fan's time....

    Uhhh... I am making a pokemon mmorpg. I hate when people say, "you try to do better!" Its just a lame excuse for mediocrity.

    And I did note that it was a beta, but even betas shouldnt be this bad...
     
    The screenshots at the beginning of this thread (to my knowledge) are only what they plan on it looking like, not what they do look like. It takes time to mill out a game worth playing and betas or only to see what works and what doesn't. Sure, even attacks that don't do damage in the real games still do a random number of damage, they're working on it. At least it's a VAST improvement compared the the previous beta where the only thing you can do is walk around and chat.

    all we can do is show them our support and wait for the next beta. Sure, right now, all you get are level 20 rental pokemon and the moves haven't been really implemented and you just have one reaaaly big screen to walk around in, it's a leg up from nothing and I see nothing to complain about. Of course, that's just my two cents.
     
    They shouldn't, however, post fake screenshots about their work, and that's what people are complaining the most here. I don't think people would really mind if the game was that bad, but at least let we know what we're downloading.

    You say that they have a battle system without working moves, a walk-around map and rental pokemons. Not to complain about?

    Im from POL and those screenshots are real but it wasnt implemented into the beta because a bug got on his computer ,wiping out everything so thats those screenshots seem fake they are actually real. Just not implemented.
     
    If they show something that isn't what we got, they're fake.
     
    yeah thats so fake i tried it and like the other ppl said its not Profesor Oak its Scott!!
