Is this a decent deck? How can it be improved? What would be a suitable deck name?

First, that deck is all over the place. Way too many Pokemon, way too many energies, and not nearly enough Supporters. What's the strategy? It looks like it's just a bunch of psychics thrown in for no real reason.

Also, what format is this? A lot of those cards are out of format- HP-on is the current Modified format.

Try and focus on a strategy and only a few Pokemon lines. As is, I'm not sure what this deck is trying to do.

Well, I havn't had a chance to try out this deck, so I'm not entirely sure what it's cabable of. Just by reading the cards, it seems like I can do quite a bit of damage by damaging my own Pokemon (like Banette's Ghost Head, Wobbuffet's Countercharge/Mismagious' Avenge + Gardevoir's Psy Shadow). Gengar's ability to make the Defending Pokemon's HP 10 is great, I think. CG Shuppet can attack to evolve, so I don't have to have Banette in my hand. Amulet coin lets me draw cards and Quick Ball lets me get Pokemon, making it more likely that I get what I need. 1 Energy type makes it easier to get what I need to attack.
I'm not sure about the format, but I don't plan on attending tournaments, anyway (too far away).

it seems like I can do quite a bit of damage by damaging my own Pokemon

The thing about using a deck based around damaging yourself is that you're doing your opponent's work for you. And with the amount of decks that can do massive amounts of damage in a single hit, it's not a good idea to shoot yourself in the foot.

(like Banette's Ghost Head, Wobbuffet's Countercharge/Mismagious' Avenge + Gardevoir's Psy Shadow). Gengar's ability to make the Defending Pokemon's HP 10 is great, I think. CG Shuppet can attack to evolve, so I don't have to have Banette in my hand.

Banette's Ghost Head is a weak move once your opponents begin to get more than 80 HP (i.e. the middle game)- he really works best in solo Banette decks that sweep the early game. Wobbuffet's Countercharge is flippy and shouldn't be relied upon. Gardevoir PK is a slow way to get damage on Mismagius- plus, he's liable to be OHKO'd before he gets any good damage on his opponent. Gengar's attack is too flippy, like Wobbuffet, and can't be relied upon. The CG Shuppet is a good idea, though.

Amulet coin lets me draw cards and Quick Ball lets me get Pokemon, making it more likely that I get what I need.

Cards like Professor Oak's Visit and Team Galactic's Mars can get you cards much faster than Amulet Coin. Quick Ball gets you a random Pokemon, so there's a good chance you'll get something you don't need with it- especially with the amount of Pokemon lines in this deck. Cards like Celio's Network, Bebe's Search, or Roseanne's Research (which you already have) can get you specific cards that you need, which is much more helpful.

That's not to say that Amulet Coin and Quick Ball aren't good- they just need to be used in conjunction with the above cards to really be effective.

1 Energy type makes it easier to get what I need to attack.

True. But 24 energies is overkill. Think about it- you have 60 cards in a deck, and 24 energies in it. 24 / 60 = 2/5. That's two fifths of your hand that will be energies- almost half of it. Those extra cards could be cards you need. Now, it's important to have energies, but since you can only attach one at a time, it's not necessary to have such a large amount at one time. Devote around 1/4 of your deck to energies- there's not too many, and there's not too few.

I'm not sure about the format, but I don't plan on attending tournaments, anyway (too far away).

That's fine. But given the amount of people that play in Modified, you might have trouble finding opponents. Besides, DP cards are mostly overpowered compared to older ones, so there's no reason not to run a lot of them.

Adding on to what I was saying about energies- you have 60 cards in a deck. If you only have one copy of an important card, there's a 1/60 chance of drawing it- and a ~1/9 chance of it being in your prizes on the first turn (prizes are set after your first hand of seven is drawn). Adding more copies drastically increases your chances of drawing the card. So if a card is important, put in 3-4 copies. If it's just a tech, you can go ahead and put in a single copy.

    *gasp for air*

Wow, that's a lot! Thanks for the advice, though.
So, should I take about... 4-6 energy out and add Supporters?

Well, before we do anything, we need to overhaul the Pokemon area.

This link pretty much says everything I'm about to say.

When building a deck, you have to center it around one or two main attackers. For the sake of an example, let's say we want Blissey MT as our main attacker. Her attack allows her to do more damage depending on the amount of energies attached to her.

Now, we take a look at support Pokemon. Since Blissey can attach energies to herself from the Discard, we can charge her up quickly by putting energies in the discard. A good Pokemon for the job is Bronzong MT, who can draw two cards when you discard an energy (Delcatty PK is probably better for the job, but I don't really care). So, that's two Pokemon lines. And to round it off, we'll throw in Arcanine SW for good measure- he can rescue Bliss when she's about to die.

So, including pre-evolutions, our Pokemon should look something like this:

4-4 Blissey MT (you may want to throw in 3 Happiny to abuse Blissey's Poke-Power, Kind Egg)
    3-3 Bronzong MT
    2-2 Arcanine SW

Of course, this is just an example, but the basics are true for almost every deck out there.

My deck would probably have more variety (and better Pokemon) if I had more cards. Many of my decent/good cards are used in other decks I have built. I really want this deck to be a Ghost/Psychic deck, but it needs to be made of cards I have. I already have a Multi-type deck (many colorless & multi/rainbow energy) and a Water/Lighting (I call it Shocking Current), both of which are unlimited. What would be some of the best Ghost/Psychic types to use (if I have them)?

Well, if you don't have the cards, get them. If you want to make your deck the best it can be, it's as simple as that.

    Good Psychic types:

-Gardevoir SW/ Gardevoir Lv. X SW.
Gallade SW is always splashed into any deck with her. Mawile CG is a good starter for this deck.
    -Banette SW.
A solo 4-4 Banette line is an excellent setup for a turn-two donk deck. Basically, get Banette out as quickly as possible, and then quickly kill the opponent while he still has Basics out.
    -Xatu SW.
Although he's actually a tech in GoldLuck decks that use Golduck SW's Break Beam to Confuse the opponent.
-Cresselia SW/ Cresselia Lv. X SW.
Makes a good tech in Gardevoir decks, I think. It's a very powerful card, but I'm not sure how I would use it.
    -Weezing GE
Although technically a Poison type, he's treated as Psychic now. A fantastic staller- throw in some Pokes to poison the opponent (Toxicroak MT, Crobat MT, or Venomoth SW, for instance), and you have an opponent in pain.
    -Hypno GE.
Pretty powerful for a Stage 1. Could be a good tech in Darkrai decks- although I have no idea.
    -Mr. Mime MT.
He seems like a decent staller, but I'm not sure how I would use him.

Wow, I only have 1 of those cards (Banette).

Well, I just tested my deck and it seems to work pretty well. I switched 4 of my energy cards with Trainers/Supporters (Celio's Network x2, Bill's Maintenance x1, & Plus Power). When I first drew my hand, I had only 1 Basic Pokemon (Ralts) and its evolution (Kirlia). Within the next few turns, I drew Gardevoir (& some basics); it didn't take long to get out Gardevoir, Gengar, and Banette. I kept boosting Gardevoir with Psychic energy so the attack could do more damage and I knocked out a couple of my opponent's Pokemon this way. When my opponent sent out Marshtomp (70 HP), I retreated my Gardevoir to send out Banette and used Ghost Head, knocking out Marshtomp. My opponent had Wailord ex (200 HP) on her bench, only needing 2 more energy to use Dwindling Wave, so she couldn't attack quite yet (she had a hard time getting energy, but there are 24 energy in her deck). I retreated my Banette (w/ 10 HP) for Gardevoir and knocked Wailord ex out in 2 turns. Eventually I drew Misdreavus, Mismagius, & Wobbuffet. I had been using Gadevoir's Power to attach energy and damage my own Pokemon, so I was able to use Mismagius' Avenge to do 40 damage at a time. I also had some damage counters on Wobbuffet for its attack, but I never got a chance to use it (or Gengar) because I won before I could. In the end, I had several Basic Pokemon in my hand.

Well, I am pretty new to the game, so it may be that I've been spouting BS this whole time.

But still, you'll want to test it out a bit more to really see if it wasn't just luck that got you through that battle (or just an unskilled opponent). And if you need to get cards, go to a league. There are plenty of people up for trading, and a few that will be happy to help you with your deck.

Yeah, I need to find more opponents. I think I won mainly because my opponent was having difficulties getting energy (even though there are many energy cards and several cards that help get them). I can't go to a league because they're too far away (4+ hour drives, yuck). Pretty much the only trading I do is with my few friends who play/collect Pokemon cards, though they haven't been buying Pokemon cards lately. One recently began buying Naruto cards and the other... I'm not sure. I'm pretty much on my own when it comes to getting cards.

I finally came up with a deck name...

    VISION: Apparition!
In other words, seeing ghosts. Incorporates Psychic (vision) & Ghost (apparition) types.

well if u want a ghost deck and have lots of bannette, make a banette deck ! its easy to use, (just use shuppets accention to evolve and attack on t2 ) a great way to get cards is to buy on the internet where u can decide what cards u get and not just random as in boosters. but that could be a problem if u live in europe or something because i live in sweden and i have to buy my cards from the US so it gets really exspensive

I think you should get rid of some of the evolutionary chains
