    Poke-Duo Challenge Gold/Silver/Crystal​

    Welcome all of you Pokefans to the first annual edition of the Gold, Silver, Crystal Poke-Duo Challenge *applause*! If you know me, then great! It's nice to see that you came from one of my other various challenges to sign up here. If you don't, Hi. I'm BREAKINGBEN. I do the challenges around here (well, as of late) and I'm always trying to get the Community involved in things other than just normal Poke-play. I've done Monotypes, and recently a Monospecies challenge that should be still going on. So if you like what you see here, please stop by the other thread for sign-ups if you're interested.

    Before we get started, I'd like to thank Dark Jagwar for creating the first Monotype Challenge for R/B back in February, and without him, this would have never existed. So please, thank him if you see him!

    Alright, now onto the Challenge. This one is a bit different than previous ones. Before, you picked a type or species that you wanted to use, and just went on your journey. I've decided to put a little twist onto that with the Poke-DUO Challenge. The title pretty much says it all, this Challenge lets you pick a starter from the Johto region and another Pokemon to use on your adventure. You MUST use only those two Pokemon throughout the entire game, finishing off with an epic battle against Red. Choose wisely, train hard, and successfully complete this Challenge! Who knows, maybe there's a prize at the end for those who finish ;)?

    Now, onto the rules:

    -Use only the two Pokemon you have chosen (the selection list is near the bottom of this post)

    -HM Slaves are permitted to use an HM

    -You may use lower-leveled Pokemon to catch other low-levels for you 'Dex. They may not level up though.

    -If your "junk" Pokemon level up, then please release them immediately.

    -You may NOT use a Gameshark on this Challenge. Yes, I have let you Gameshark once in others, but there is a reason for it (see list).

    -Your Challenge ends when you have defeated Red at Mt. Silver.

    -If your game corrupts, sorry, but you must drop out.

    -Post your ending score when you have finished (Time, Pokemon, Name, Version, Hall Of Fame record, Pictures [if any]).

    -Be courteous to others taking the challenge. I am allowed to disqualify you if it gets too SPAMmy in here.

    -Post often!

    -Have fun!

    Here is the selection list I promised you earlier. When making your decision, please choose one Pokemon from the top list (starters) and one from the bottom (others). There should be room for 75 sign-ups (3 starters times 25 other Pokemon), so you should be able to get the Pokemon you want. These Pokemon have been chosen because of their availability early in the game. If you have any questions on how to get a certain one, feel free to ask. Also, if anyone knows if Phanpy is obtainable early on, then please tell me it's location and I will add it to the list with your name for credit.

    You can also put that into short story form... but trust me, Jax does it a LOT better than I do :).

    I'm sorry for having to make you pick like a million times =/.

    I only wanted to do the first 25 Pokemon available in the game (used a walkthrough) because if i went anymore... it would be a huge mess. Besides, 75 is a LOT of slots =)!
     
    I'd like to do it with Gastly and Cyndaquil.

    EDIT: If you can do two challenges at a time, I'll also do Totodile and Jigglypuff.

    This challenge looks pretty interesting. This and my Gyarados challenge in red makes sumemr all the more challenging!

    I started off the game with all those scripts, chose Cyndaquil and headed to Route 29, with Cynadquil and low level 5.

    I tried raising, but blacked out. I got Cyndaquil to level 9 before I got to Cherrygrove.

    I healed and went off to Route 30, with a level 9 Cyndaquil at my side.

    Got to Mr. Pokemon's House, along the way creaming wild Pokemon. Battled Rival, and Cindy didn't even level up. Went to New Bark, and did the Elm event. Came back, battling, healing, and went to Route 30 for the real trainers. Battled everyone, Cyndaquil learned Ember, and emerged at Route 31, with a level 12 Cyndaquil.

    NM, just a big path with a trainer, got out with level 13 Cyndaquil.

    Violet City

    I healed, battled the Jr.'s. He's the Falkner battle!
