OOC: Now you tell me. Tsk, well, I don't feel like flip-flopping between names so I'll just keep Darkrazor. It sounds more sinister anyway. ^^

Oh, and by the way; I'm using the {} notation to indicate pok?mon speech. Hope that's okay.

IC:

Meanwhile, right by the cottage of a hospitable, if rather eccentric, old lady who had chosen a rather curious spot for her home, right next to the greatest, and only, desert in Hoenn, a young male, about fifteen in age, stepped outside, stretching his joints as he let out a wide yawn, stepping out of the building, a Ninetales following in his footsteps in a distinctly timid manner, like a dog following its master out of duty but expecting to be smacked with a rolled up newspaper at any given moment.

The male turned around to watch his pok?mon, giving it a tired smile as he forced a few stray strands of unruly black hair further beneath the red baseball cap he wore on his head.

"Good morning Kaika" he said, smiling as he slowly stroked the fire type's soft fur, feeling its warm body quiver ever so slightly under his touch, the fox pok?mon's eyes darting to the boy's other glove-covered hand before returning back to the ground, their owner letting out a small whimpering noise. "Don't tell me you're still thinking about that..."

The Ninetales whimpered slightly again, nodding its head.

The boy gave his pok?mon a tired smile, shaking his head as he stroked the fire type's fur once more "I already told you that it's allright, I forgive you. Okay? I know it could have been bad, but I'm fine now. You don't need to fret about it..."

"taalee..." Kaika replied, slowly raising his eyes from the ground but still refusing to look into his trainer's dark brown pair.

The boy gave a tired sigh, noting that his pok?mon was still far from getting over the incident. He really needed to get his mind onto other matters, the chilly weather was bad enough without a melancholic fox pok?mon to drag the mood down.

"Say, I haven't introduced you to the rest of them yet, have I?" he asked after a pause, his face lighting up as he turned to gaze at his surroundings.

The Ninetales shook his head in response.

"Well, it's about time then." the boy replied cheerfully, placing the middle and index fingers of his right hand into his mouth and releasing a shrill whistle into the air. Soon enough, a Bayleef came lumbering from the berry plantations nearby, a pleasant smile encrusted on its face and a very energetic looking Butterfree circling around it in the air. Meanwhile, a strangely scruffy looking Flaaffy came walking out of the house, casting an indignant look at his surroundings. And finally, a Sneasel leapt elegantly down from a nearby tree, leaning back against the wall and watching the newcomer with a completely neutral, and somewhat bored expression on its face.

"Okay guys..." the boy said, raising his hands into the air and taking a moment to get all of the pok?mon's attention. "This is Kaika." he gestured towards the Ninetales "Kaika, meet the gang; this is Pico." he gestured towards the Butterfree who flapped its way over to the fire type and performed and performed a bow-like motion in the air.

{Hi! Hi!} the Butterfree squeaked, smiling at Kaika in a friendly manner, excitement evident in his expression. {Nice to meet you!}

{...likewise...} the Ninetales replied a tad anxiously, bowing to the bug type, a gesture which caused a slight flicker of amusement to cross over the Sneasel's face.

"And this is Herb." the boy continued, gesturing towards the Bayleef, who nodded at the Ninetales in front of it.

{Welcome to the group.} she said calmly, with all the experience of one who had been there before.

Kaika now bowed to the Bayleef, unsure of what to say but smiling in thanks nonetheless.

"This is Blackrazor." the boy continued, this time gesturing towards the Sneasel.

{What's up?} the Sneasel asked, nodding in acknowledgement.

{Erm...excuse me?} Kaika asked nervously, clearly unfamiliar with the dark type's way of speaking, but bowing to it as well.

{It's just his way to say 'hi'.} Pico said helpfully, chuckling at the Sneasel's expression of cool indiference.

"And this is-" the boy said at last, now gesturing towards the Flaaffy, although his sentence was cut short by the electric type as it took a stride forward.

{Jolt.} he said in a defensive tone, {And I'm all man.}

{Erm, right...} the Ninetales replied, bowing {Pleasure to meet you-}

{Yup, all man.} the Flaaffy repeated, seeming to be trying to convince himself of the statement more than anyone else {I'm an electric type.} he added {Yup, manly, virile type, electric, zap a grown man into paralysis like no-one's bussiness, absolutely nothing femmy about that.}

{Erm,} Kaika began uncertainly {what are you-?}

{Don't even start about the colour.} the Flaaffy interrupted once more, glaring sternly at the Ninetales {I ain't pink! I'm magenta! Yeah! Magenta, strong manly colour, absolutely nothing femmy about it. And anyway, it's not like you've got any room to talk, flame-boy!}

{Look!} Kaika began, now beginning to grow irritated with the electric type's attitude {What is your problem-?}

{Relax kid...} the Sneasel said, slowly rising into a standing position and flicking of a speck of dirt from his pelt before turning to watch Jolt, a malicious glint in his eyes, {He's obviously overcompensating for something...}

{Say what?!} the electric type replied, his fury building as he turned to face the Sneasel, {Are you picking a fight? I'm warning you...I may be on the smallish side but I can kick any butt here! You want a piece of me?!}

{Now would be a good time to step back...} Pico whispered, discreetly pulling Kaika away from the two as Blackrazor retorted.

{If I had a piece of your suggary-sweet persona...} he replied drawlingly {I'd probably be prancing gaily through the flower fields by next spring. I think I'll pass...}

{Sugary Sweet?!} Jolt shouted, electricity building up in his fleece as he brandished his fists at the Sneasel, {Say that again and I'll Thunderpunch you to kingdom come!}

{Oh I'm so scared...} the Sneasel replied in a sarcastic tone {That soft, fluffy fleece of yours is simply too intimidating...}

The dark type watched with complete calm as Jolt grew even more agitated, the colour of his Flaaffy face shifting from pink to a very dark shade of red. He looked just about ready to go through with his treath when an old lady suddenly burst out from the house, apparently awoken by the noise.

"Oh, are you up already dearie?" she asked, turning to adress the boy, "Oh you young whippersnappers...always on the go. Your pok?mon still look tired, though." she added, gesturing at Jolt who was heaving very deep breaths in his anger, Herb standing by him and attempting to calm him down while Blackrazor continued leering tauntingly at the Flaaffy and Pico and Kaika did their best to stay out of the situation. "Maybe you should take another rest?" the woman suggested "Yes, that would be a good idea."

"Erm, no thanks." the boy replied, shaking his head and raising his right hand to emphasise the sentence "I've already been resting here for almost a day now and my folks over at Slateport are waiting for me. I really need to get going..."

"Well, if you say so..." the woman replied in a slightly dissapointed voice, "There's no need to be shy about it." with that, she returned to her house, leaving the boy and his pok?mon outside.

"You do look a little tired, Jolt." the boy noted, seemingly oblivious to the conflict that had taken place "Come back for a while." he pulled out one of the pok?balls on his belt and returned the still furious electric type into it before it could raise its voice in protest.

{Walking...} Blackrazor said disdainfully {I think I'll pass...} he walked over to his trainer, promptly dissapearing into his own pok?ball as well.

"Well, anyone else want to travel in their pok?ball?" the boy asked, turning to face his remaining three pok?mon.

{No way!} Pico squeaked, fluttering about a bit more energetically {I ain't going into no stinking pok?ball unless it's absolutely necessary!}

{I'll stay outside too...} Herb replied, shaking her head firmly.

{I...guess I will stay outside as well...} Kaika said after a pause.

"Well, suit yourselves." the boy said, lifting up his backpack, a fairly nondescript brown one with various pockets for storing different items, properly onto his back and beginning to walk down the route towards the Fiery Path, but taking a turn in the other direction at the crossroads instead.

"Right you guys." he said, rummaging in his pack until he came across a pair of go-goggles and placed them on his head to shield him from the constant sandstorm, "We're going to have to shortcut through the desert if we want to make it. Are you sure you don't want to come in?"

Pico looked hesitant for a moment but then braced himself, shaking his head firmly in response. Herb didn't seem like she was about to budge anywhere either, standing steadfastly by his trainer's side, ready to follow. Kaika, although obviously not as confident as his fellows, seemed to succumb to peer pressure, nodding and following the others with slight trepidation.

{Don't worry...} Herb said soothingly, falling in step with the Ninetales {I'll shield you both as we go. The sandstorm won't hurt you as long as we stick together.}

{Thank you...miss Herb.} Kaika replied, smiling in gratitude once more.

{Miss Herb?} the Bayleef replied, chuckling in amusement {Oh there's no need to be formal Kaika, please, just call me Herb.}

{Yes Herb.} the Ninetales replied hastily, still sounding rather insecure.

"Come on guys." the boy said, waving to his pok?mon in an attempt to make them move a bit faster as he turned to face the roaring sandstorm that always seemed to prevail within the desert. "It's time to go."

OOC: Yay. Now I actually know where the President's house is. XD

IC:

Kaylae had kept up her brisk walking, the pace never faultering as she made her way through the everlasting crowd of people, heading west-ward, towards the pier.

Making his way behind her, if a bit more clumsily, Cyto struggled to catch up, never really being a speedy guy unless he really felt the need to try. This was often his downfall in battle, seeing as it didn't look like he was very good at dodging, unless he withdrew into his shell to protect himself. If he hadn't been working on Special Defense with Kaylae, he'd probably have had more than his fair share of losses to add to his list of complaints.

{Hey,} He yelled over the crowd as they parted before him, his Trainer still surging forward. {Where exactly are we going anyway?}

He recieved no answer. Or at least, if he did, Kaylae's voice had been lost to the noise of the crowd. Grunting in frustration, which only left the crowd even more frightened by his gigantic presence compared to them, Cyto continued stomping after Kaylae.

Eventually, the pair had reached Lilycove's infamous harbor, where the crowd was less thick, and comprised mostly of sailors with fancy uniforms.

After weaving through several more groups of people, Kaylae slowed to a halt at a regal-looking mansion that was cast aside from the main harbor, built along a more privately owned estate. She was sure this was the President's personal residence, even if the title itself wasn't flashing on a sign somewhere.

What was really strange, though, was that another Trainer had already arrived, and was strutting up to the building as if he had been summoned here as well. Before Kaylae could resort to bouncily asking the lad if her assumption was true, Cyto bounded up behind her and let out a wheeze indicating that the walk had tired him out.

{Geez.. What're we doing at the President's house? What, were you invited to some major prissy party or something?} The Blastoise voiced irritably, breathing deeply to regain his composure.

Kaylae frowned, putting her hands on her hips, not bothering to turn around and face the Blastoise. "If you must know, it said to come here because of some.. Time.. Thingy.. Well, it was real important! So now we are here. But I don't want to go up there because it looks too official."

Cyto sweat-dropped, his Trainer's words making him even more confused.

"Whew! Looks like we're here!" the boy exclaimed, panting slightly as the streets of Slateport City finally came into view. The trip through the desert hadn't been that hard on him really, it was only a short way and he knew where to walk to avoid the Cacneas, Sandshrews, and countless other wild pok?mon that considered the sand dunes their home. From there on, it had been nothing short of a brisk jog with the boy up front and his pok?mon trailing after him. Kaika looked rather beat, his white fur messed and specked with brown as a result of the sandstorm, although the heat hadn't taken its toll very hard on him, a fire pok?mon as he was, if anything, he had found it refreshing. Although that hadn't lasted very long as it had been, as previously noted, a very short trip indeed. Herb seemed to be hanging along just fine as well, having stopped briefly on the way to restore her energy from the sun, Pico had pulled a similar trick as well, although the Butterfree still looked slightly fatigued from having flown for so long, although the fact that he had spent most of the journey fluttering about and chatting with Kaika, asking the Ninetales about all kinds of things and telling him jokes while illustrating his words with energetic motions, might have played its part in it.

It didn't take long for the boy to find his old home, a somewhat nondescript building located by the harbor, almost adjacent to the Slateport lighthouse. The boy rang the doorbell, listening to the sound ringing inside as he waited for someone to open...only no-one came. He rang again. Still nothing. The boy shrugged, maybe they were busy preparing for his homecoming or something? He fumbled around his pockets for a while until he procured a simple, metal key, turning it in the lock and pushing the door open, stepping inside. Pico followed after him, darting straight into the house with a delighted squeal to see what had been changed in his absence. Herb on the other hand stayed outside, the grass pok?mon's body now being a bit too big to move about the house without mishaps, and Kaika stayed outside as well, more out of caution than anything.

"Mom! I'm home!" the boy called, grudgingly taking of his baseball cap as he knew his mother would fuss about it, no-one came though. "Mom?!" he repeated, taking a few more steps into the house "Dad?! Brie?! Anyone here?!"

{Hey! Lookie this!} Pico squeaked, zooming down from the upper floor with a note clutched tightly in his tiny hands.

"Hmm?" the boy picked up the note, immediately recognizing his mother's curly handwriting "Dear Tarin..." he read out loud "We're all really sorry that we can't be here today like we promised, but aunt Maria has fallen sick and we all need to be there for her right now. She wanted you to be there too, but you haven't been answering your pok?nav no matter how many times we called. I've left food for you in the fridge and kept your room tidy. We will be back next Friday, so I hope we'll see you then.

Love,
mum"

Tarin folded the note again in frustration, "Gone?" he shook his head "Of all the darnable luck, looks like we rushed through for nothing." he sighed, feeling like quite the idiot at the moment. There he was, Tarin Whitendon, a budding league champion who couldn't even realize that his pok?nav had been closed. "Might as well get the mail I suppose..." he muttered, trudging back into the entry hall with Pico on his trail and picking up the pile of envelopes he had stepped over to get in.

"Let's see now...dentist bill, advert, Contest Coordinators' Guide, advert, advert, advert...all junk...hang on-" he suddenly stopped, noticing a rather professional looking envelope that seemed to be assigned to him, his jaw almost dropping as he noticed who it was from. "The president?" now that was a shock. Tarin hastily ripped open the envelope, pulling out the letter inside and quickly scrolling through it, before turning to his pok?mon, a determined look in his eyes.

Kaika tilted his head {What's going on?} he asked Herb, but the Bayleef seemed just as confused by this as he was, and somehow the Ninetales doubted Pico's knowledge in anything that wasn't trivial.

"Change of plans, guys." Tarin said, re-shouldering his backpack and stepping back out of the house, Pico quickly fluttering out so that the boy wouldn't accidentally slam the door shut while the Butterfree was still inside "We're going to Lilycove."

"Lilly cove city, eh?" The pair stood on the cliffs, watching the sea crash and foam. One was a girl, dressed in a slouchy pair of jeans and a halter-neck top, which left a sliver of tanned showing above her waistband. Her hair was silvery white, like bone, and hung around her shoulder blades like a shimmering cape.
The other was a boy; apparently her brother. He had the same exotic, carribean look about him, but unlike her, his hair was black. While she was full-figured, with a curving outline, he was skinny and straggly, and looked as if a strong gale would blow him away.
"Good luck with the contests, okay?" he told her, in a firm voice. She didn't seem to be listening, her eyes elsewhere. He repeated himself, a twinge of annoyance in his voice, and the girl stirred herself to answer.
"You know we'll bring home the gold." she said indifferently. The boy's face split into a smile.
"'Bye, Rose. Next time you see me, I'll be a first class trainer too!"
For a second, they stared at each other, apparently neither wanting to shift much from the spot. Finally, the boy one last time, and jogged away.
The shook her head. I had dreams once... where'd they all disapear from? She smiled to herself, shouldered her bag, and headed off.

~~~~
Rose sat cross-legged on the grass, munching her way through an Onigiri.
It had turned out to be a relatively warm day, and already, teenagers were heading down to the beach, ready to flash some toned skin and wiggle those hips. Once upon a time, the tanned girl in the reveal-all top might have joined them. She too would lie on the sand in attempt to grab some sun, sea, surf - and, of course, a boy or two. Now she was older. Wiser. She was going to concentrate on the important things in life now. Her career. Her family. Her pokemon, and -
{Rose, I had a quick look 'round, but they didn't have any shampoo.}
A vocie cut clean through Rose's thoughts. She turned to see a wigglytuff stood before her. The little pokemon waved the twig in her hand like a baton and smiled confidently. She was a pretty little thing, with big azure eyes, floppy-bunny-ears, and a coat of the subtlest, lushiousest pink. She blinked innocently - though rose knew behind those seemingly blank eyes hid an intelligent beast.
"Hey Coral! You're back!" Rose exclaimed, and patted the ground beside her. The puff pokemon sat next to her trainer, hitting the ground with a soft 'oof' noise.
{Yeah... so, what's happening? Are the others back yet?} she asked, in her husky voice.
"Linty's sleeping... over there..." she gestured underneath a yew tree, where sure enough, a little jumpluff was sleeping. "I don't know where Wisp's got to, though."
The wiggytuff leant over her trainer's lap and prized the last of the riceball from the girl's grip. Coral swallowed it in one triumphant gulp.
Meanwhile, Wisp the Venomoth was fluttering along quite contentedly, flowing the breeze. A breeze that, apparently, seemed quite determined to follow Kaylae.
{ooc| xP 'Bleh, Charon-chan, you can join'? Doesn't sound too enthusiastic...}
Cyto tapped his foot impatiently as Kaylae paced around the gate to the President's estate, muttering frustrated comments every now and then. It was only a matter of time before he would lose it, it seemed.
Kaylae looked back up towards the towering mansion, eyes filled with wonder. The letter had seemed so seriously important--so undeniably urgent that she hadn't even stopped to let her Blastoise rest on the way here. But now that she truly gazed at the mansion, she couldn't help but get a feeling of shy insecurity, thinking that surely she wasn't important enough to be at the President's personal residence!
Besides, it would be terribly awkward there, being such a run-of-the-mill Trainer with nobody's business.. But then realization struck her. She wasn't just some kid! Sure, she took no interest in the Hoenn League like most sensible Trainers, but she had recently mastered the Battle Frontier! Maybe her Blastoise was a poopy-head, but she still very much loved him! And maybe-
Cyto sneezed, having the strange feeling that someone had just talked or thought about him. Agitated, he finally took a step towards Kaylae.
{ARE WE GOING TO-} Before he could finish the sentence, a suddenly confident Kaylae burst through the gate to the President's estate, which surprisingly wasn't locked, and began to jog up the path towards the mansion.
Sighing, Cyto began to follow his Trainer, in big, long strides that made a slight booming sound as he went. He seemed not to notice the Venomoth that was gliding their way.
OOC: Heh, don't worry Charon, I'm sure he'll get used to you in time. ^^
"S.S.Tidal is arriving in Lilycove! Repeat, we are arriving in Lilycove!"
Tarin didn't really need the announcement, already standing on deck and watching the scenery flash past him as he was. S.S.Tidal was a fine ship and the weather had been favourable, making the trip a fast one indeed, leaving the notoriously beautiful sights little more than a disconcerting blurr zwisching past, but Tarin had enjoyed being up on deck nonetheless, feeling the wind against his face and the watching the sunlight sparkle in the sea. Ahead of him, he could now see the Lilycove lighthouse, which just so happened to bear a remarkable resemblance to the one in Slateport, with the expception of being slightly larger. Was there some kind of inter-city competition going on between the two port cities, he wondered as the ship came to a halt in its own indoor harbor, anchoring to allow its passengers to disembark. Since he was travelling within the region and his pok?mon were all safely tucked away in their pok?balls, Tarin made his way past customs without much delay, soon standing out on the sunny pavements of Lilycove City, its notorious contest hall (Well, Brie never could shut up about it at any rate) just on his left.
"Now to find this presidental manor place..." he said for himself, instinctively reaching for the pok?balls on his belt. Tarin always felt better when he had company. Herb would be too large for these crowded streets, but beyond that he figured he should let them all out.
"Okay then, Pico! Kaika! Blackrazor! Jolt! Come on out!"
{Pwhee! Finally out of that stuffy ball!} Pico exclaimed as he emerged in a flash of white light, performing a sommersault in mid-air just for the joy of it.
{I...actually kind of liked it inside...} Kaika confessed, shrugging at the Butterfree's shocked expression, {...It was nice and peacefull...}
{Pfft, a small pok?ball is no place for a man like me.} Jolt said, ruffling up his fleece a bit in an effort to make it look less feminine. Blackrazor smirked at some inside joke of his, but decided not to comment at the moment, stretching his joints a bit before turning to his trainer, keen intelligence mixed with utter boredom shining from the dark type's eyes.
{So where to now?} he asked simply.
"The presidential residence." Tarin replied, the mere words sounding rather out of place in his mouth "Any idea where that is?"
The Sneasel gave him a decidedly cynical look {I'm a warrior...} he replied bluntly {Not a tour guide.}
"Of course..." the boy replied, feeling a bit sheepish over that he had even considered that the Sneasel would know such a thing "Well, maybe we'll find the place if we just stroll about a bit. Which way should we go?"
{The Beach!} Pico squeaked in excitement, performing another sommersault in mid-air {Beach time! Beach time! Beaaach tiiimeee!} the bug pok?mon chanted in a slightly off-key voice, performing a makeshift dance in mid-air as it began soaring towards the beach.
Blackrazor gave the Butterfree a disgusted look, {If this keeps up, I think I'm going to be sick...} he said in a voice that matched his expression {Come on, the sooner we find this 'Presidential Residence' the sooner I can get something within the reach of my claws.} a bloodthirsty glint flashed in the Sneasel's eyes at this point, unsettling Kaika quite badly, the Ninetales instinctively moving closer to Tarin.
{I'm for the beach too!} Jolt exclaimed, ruffling up his fleece a bit more, although the wool stubbornly returned to its soft, fluffy look before long {All the cool guys hang out at beaches.} with that, the Flaaffy promptly dashed after Pico, leaving Tarin, Kaika, and Blackrazor behind.
"You guys..." The boy said, tiredly shaking his head at his pok?mon's enthusiaism, "We've got a mission here..." he sighed, "Oh well, going by the shoreline is as good a way to start searching as any I suppose. Let's go."
He gestured for Kaika and Blackrazor to follow, beginning to make his way in the direction that Jolt and Pico had gone, not that it was particularly hard to track the duo. They caught up with Jolt fairly quickly, the Flaaffy's short feet proving hard to walk with through the heated sand, but Pico was soaring in the skies above, playfully gliding with the winds and chanting his little of-key song to everyone who cared to listen.
"No use trying to call after him in this crowd." Tarin said, shaking his head, his voice barely audible even to the pok?mon beside him, "We'll just have to follow and wait until he lands."
Kaylae froze in place as she walked up to the door of the mansion, suddenly feeling out-of-place again. Gulping slightly, the girl pressed the doorbell, which was crafted within a fancy design of a Master Ball. She listened as the sound resonated throughout the building, making her feel quite small as the doorbell made the place sound even bigger than it already seemed.
She fidgeted nervously as the doorbell stopped ringing, roughly around the time when Cyto hobbled up to her side.
{Yeesh.. What is with this guy and front yards?} Cyto commented blandly as he caught his breath, referring to how the walk up to the front door could have been considerably shorter.
"Me don't know. I suppose we could ask him later. But I think he'd get mad because this situation thingy sounds important." Kaylae responded, still fidgeting.
Several long, boring minutes passed.
{Forget this, I can't wait out in this sun forever!} Cyto complained. {Maybe if we were at the beach, but here? Come on..}
Kaylae bit her lip. "Maybe he's just busy, and doesn't have time to come to the door."
{But you said this thing was important!} Cyto retorted.
"All the more reason to stay here and wait patiently." Kaylae smirked, ringing the doorbell again, suddenly feeling not so nervous.
Cyto grimaced at the response, having nothing better to do than listen to the doorbell ring a second time. Turning his head towards the ocean out of boredom, he sighed, wishing that he could be closer to the refreshing element.. When something in the sky caught his eye.
Squinting, he saw that it was some kind of bug Pokemon, that looked like a purple Beautifly, only bigger and more intimidating.
The Blastoise tapped Kaylae on the shoulder, causing her to turn around in annoyance, but look up at where Cyto was pointing. There, she spotted the Venomoth that he had seen.
"Just a wild Venomoth.. Relax. What, you think it's gonna come down here and EAT you?" Kaylae stated, grimacing at her poor excuse of an insult.
{You don't see many of those around here.} Cyto replied.
"You don't see many Blastoise around, either."
{That's because I'm with you!}
"Yeah, but I caught ya here. Remember, you were such a cute Squirtle-"
{Yeah, I remember, but I was only here because my original school had drifted off course. I guess it wasn't so bad, seeing as how we had one heck of a journey, eh?} The Blastoise said, calming slightly.
"Yeah." Kaylae said, pausing slightly as her head became cluttered with memories. "So, you think that Venomoth belongs to someone? It actually has that 'Trained Pokemon' look.. It's headed straight for us.."
{Well, what the heck is it doing comin' at us like that? You think Spear should check it out? Maybe just to be safe..} Cyto trailed off.
"Yup, I knew it, you're scared."
{Well what's with you and that mansion? You keep lookin' at it as if it's gonna swallow you whole if you get any closer!} Cyto shouted.
Kaylae muttered something under her breath before reaching for one of her Pokeballs, a Great Ball to be exact. She quickly maximized it, then threw it into the air, releasing the Pokemon inside. As the ball flew back to her hand, the great bird took form, large brown wings spread out in a stretching position as he was released. It was a Fearow, and a particularly large one at that, beak open wide in a yawning position, snapping shut with an annoyingly loud 'snap'.
As the light died down, the Fearow folded its wings, looking down at the human and Blastoise (although Cyto wasn't that much shorter) that stood before him.
{Yo.} The Bird said, the single word seeming out of place for such an intimidating creature.
"Hiya Spear!" Kaylae said enthusiastically in greeting before she became slightly more serious. "Okay, see that Venomoth up there?" She said, pointing to the said Venomoth.
Spear turned his head boredly, nodding to acknowledge that he had indeed seen the creature.
"Will you please make sure that it's.. Like.. Not spying on us or anything? Just make sure he's minding his own business. You know.. Make sure everything's cool.." Kaylae trailed off, smiling.
The Fearow sighed, dipping his head in another nod before unfolding his massive wings, lifting off of the ground in a few effortless flaps. Within moments he was soaring above the mansion, heading towards the peculiar Venomoth that soared in the air as well.
Kaylae only now noticed how incredibly noticable Spear was, especially since there weren't that much in Hoenn.. Just like Cyto and Zinc. Oh well. She didn't really care if people on the beach could see him or not, she still thought he was cute either way.
OOC: Darn have to catch up.
IC: "Yes!" cried Pete as the flamethrower connected with the opponent's Shroomish perfectly. Kazado, his Charmeleon smirked as it went flying. As it hit the ground, it was obvious it was knocked out. Pete returned Kazado, and had the usual post-battle trainer talk. He continued on his way. After a while, he reached his hometown, Mauville. Home wasn't far away. When he reached it, his dad was reading the paper, his mom was cooking, and his brother was having a simulation battle with the computer.
"Pete, you got a letter," said he said.
"Thanks," replied Pete and he opened the letter...
{You did tell your mom where we were going, right?}asked Kazado.
"Relax," said Pete, "Yeah, they know."
{Well, how the hell are you going to get to Lilycove in 3 hours?}
"****!" yelled Pete, "No, wait. Go Pijo!"
Pijo the Pidgeotto burst out of its ball with a flash.
{What's up?} he asked.
"Pijo, fly us to Lilycove," commanded Pete, "I have biscuits."
{Yippee!} thought Pijo, and Pete and Kazado climbed on.
"Oh boy," thought Pete as he swooped around in the alleys on Pijo. Lilycove was really big. He decided to ask for directions.
"Hey, how do we get to the presidential mansion, or whatever this place is?" asked Pete to an old man.
"Take two lefts, then a right and go straight," said the old man.
"Thanks!" replied Pete and Pijo boosted off.
"Finally! We're here!" thought Pete.
{Pete, are you okay?} said Kazado.
"Stop being pessimistic," said Pete in a scolding tone.
{Whatever,} said Kazado.
They walked up the extremely long drive and saw the front door.
"Someone else is waiting. I'm not late," thought Pete happily as he spotted a figure at the front door.
{Glad to see you've lightened up} said Kazado sarcastically.
"Just shut up," replied Pete.
OOC:Is that OK?
OOC: Ehh, sorry for not being as enthusiastic as I usually am Charon, its one of those times a person just drops to the might of boredom..then magically gets up later..XD And I don't see how you're lost at the very start Alana..XD Just introduce your character and stuff then follow along the plot..XD
IC:
Jack hadn't seen any problems arriving at the mansion, for he was on the opposite side of where he'd find any people, always dodging where they approached, as he approached the main gate he saw that it was already open, he walked through and closed it as entered. His steps were quick but silent, he wasn't in a hurry but he didn't take his time either. That letter, if the president himself took time to write it then it definitely couldn't be a joke. He came up to the front door, noticing a girl, but she had been paying attention to a venomoth, Probably a garden pet.. he thought. He paid no more attention and knocked on the door, but it simply flew open as he touched it, the sound of the door's hinge moving echoed in what had seemed like a palace. He recalled the Contest Hall, the beauty of the building, though its beauty can't posssibly match that of the residence. He looked around, waiting for some perky maid which would be expected to be here, but there was nothing. He hadn't made the slightest of a sound, afraid he might disturb the president, in his sleep, or whatever he might be doing..
OOC: Huff huff. Gah. You guys write SO much. Huff huff. I feel light-headed. *Falls over*
IC: I walked out of the pokemon center in Lilycove and thanked Nurse Joy. As I walked, a cool breeze swept through my face and glided off. "I guess I should go to the president's manon home?" I mumbled to myself, fiddling with my pokeballs as I placed them onto my belt. As I fiddled, one of the pokeballs fell off. FLASH!!!!!!! "Drriiiii!" came a chirp. It was my Dragonair, Sky. She wrapped herself around me and smiled. "Sky... Your... Crush.... ing.... me...." I tried to say as the Dragonair started recoiling. "Phew. That's better." "Driii!" {Heehee!} "Since your out, can you take the skies and help me look for a manon house?" I asked. She nodded and took off into the sky. She quickly scanned the area and found a large home. "BRIIII!" {THERE!} she called out and took off. I followed her running after the large dragon pokemon. "Huff huff. She sure is fast. Darn." Sky landed near a large house. It had many windows and is huge. "I guess this is it." I said and suddenly seeing a person in the gardens and one entering the large manon home.
OOC: Huff huff. My head is gonna explode!!!!!!!!!!
OOC: XD Did ya even read teh intro? Dude..I don't know why any person would just jump up and say, "Hey, lets go to the President's house uninvited!" Its pretty funny..XD
The venomoth wriggled it's antennas as the Fearow appeared before him. {Good afternoon!} he said, in a cheery voice, and floated straight past the Fearow. The big bird pokemon was his natural predator, but in this civilised world where your trainer was your meal-source, the Fearow posed no threat.
~~~

{Say, Rose...} The little wigglytuff began, her ears twitching.
The girl looked up from her laptop, and pushed the glasses back up her nose.
"Yeah?" she asked, observing her pokemon over the screen. The moniter was filled with codes; mostly numbers, which were streaming up and down.
{Have you opened that letter yet?} Coral asked, swishing her stick baton back and forth.
"Oh, of course!" she muttered, and snapped her laptop shut. She reached into her bag, while Coral sighed. She was more than used to her trainer working on her projects when they were meant to be on holiday, but as they had recieved a letter that morning titled 'URGENT', Coral thought it might have taken at least second priority on her list.
The girl slitted open the envolope with her long, painted, manicured nails, and read the contents boredly.
{What's it say?}
"Apparently, we've got to go to some mansion in lillycove...now..." she muttered, and handed the letter to Coral. The wigglytuff studied it seriously, before wandering over and stuffing it bakc in her trainer's bag. Rose packed up her laptop and stowed that away too.
{Wake up, Lint!} Coral yelled, and the JUmpluff stirred itself lazily.
{Is it time to go already?} the pokemon replied drowsily, waggling his arms like pompoms. {Not again....} he muttered. Despite his femine appearence, Lint was quite definetly male.

OOC: Ahhhh. Whoops I forgot to put the letter int the post. I'll do it now.

IC: As I read the president's letter, I wondered if it was a fake. "Looks real enough to me huh, Sky?" I asked and skimmed through the letter once more. I openned the metal gate and it gave a rusted screech. I slowly closed the gate trying not to make it cause the same noise. I approached the house and noticed again a girl in the gardens with a Venomoth. "I think it would best if you stay in your pokeball, ok?" I explained. Sky nodded and she went back inside. "Okay." i said as I walked towards the door.

Kayley took her eyes off of her Fearow, and the Venomoth in the air with him, noticing that another Trainer had come. The boy had a Dragonair, but he quickly returned it to its ball and entered through the gate, walking up towards the house.

"Hiya person!" Kaylae waved at him enthusiastically, glad that someone else had been summoned. She jumped up and down as she did so, increasing in overall hyper-ness.

Cyto grimaced, then rolled his eyes. Here we go.. The Blastoise thought to himself. She's entered loon mode..

------

{Yo.} Spear called out to the Venomoth, and was then surprised when the other Pokemon merely voiced a greeting on flew onward. Turning onto his side slightly, the Fearow made a U-turn, going after Wisp.

{'Ey, whatcha doin' up here, brotha?} He said, in a poor excuse of a 'gangsta' accent, catching up to the Bug-Type with a few flaps of his wings. {You freakin' out ma' Trainer, dunno why, chillin' up here.}

Meanwhile, soaring up with the clouds as he was, Pico's sharp eyes spotted something interesting in the distance. {Ohh! Peoples!} he exclaimed, quickly fluttering his way over to the Fearow and the Venomoth he had noticed in the distance and performing a sommersault in the air out of pure hyperness as he approached.

{Hi hi!} he called out enthusiastically, beaming at the both of them {Pico am I!} he chuckled at the rhyme for a bit before turning back to the other pok?mon, eyeing them with keen interest {Who are you guys?}

"Come on! He's over there!" Tarin called out, urging Jolt to pick up the pace. Kaika was already running alongside him, wondering if this was what he'd end up doing all the time in the boy's presence, and Blackrazor had taken up a kind of running motion as well, although he made a point of doing even that in a cool and composed manner. And soon, the peculiar quartet came bursting into the garden of the presidential manor, with Tarin and Kaika at the front and Jolt huffing and wheezing as he tried to keep up the pace with his short Flaaffy legs.

"There he is!" Tarin called out, pointing out Pico to the other pok?mon, "Crazy Butterfree, making us run all the way to..." he checked his surroundings, "...the presidential manor." he concluded, a small smile spreading across his face "See?" he asked, turning to his pok?mon "I told you we'd find the way if we just wandered about a bit."

{Tarin..?} Kaika asked slowly, glancing up at the Butterfree fluttering in the air above them {Shouldn't you collect him up again now that you have the chance?}

The boy looked up for a moment, apparently appraising the situation "Nah..." he concluded, shrugging "He seems to be having a good time up there so he'll probably stay, we can pick him up when we're done here.". With that, Tarin began walking towards the door, after all, what good would they be if they didn't enter the place? As he came closer, the boy spotted a small group of people gathered just outside, apparently others who had gotten invited, a boy with emerald hair, who seemed to be about his age, and a rather energetic looking girl, perhaps a tad younger, who was accompanied by a far less energetic and far more cynical looking Blastoise. "Hi there!" Tarin called, waving to the group as he walked closer "Are you guys here on invite too?"

{Hey! Hey!} Jolt called out as they approached the group, pointing out the girl, {Who's that foxy chick?!}

Blackrazor rolled his eyes, {Oh give it a rest Shirley...} he said in a bored voice {You're not fooling anyone.}

{Greetings,} the venomoth muttered with a sweep of his wings, {I simply followed the breeze. My own trainer's back there, she should be coming along soon.} He nodded his head off in the direction on the yew tree. Rose and Coral were already leaving, though, and were now making thier way down the same path the other two trainers were now on.
He then turned to observe the butterfree that had fluttered into view.
{Hello, Pico. My name is Wisp.} He glanced down at the trainers on the path below. {Do those two belong to you?} he asked regally.

~~~
Rose and Coral had indeed packed up now, and were making their way along the path. Lint the Jumpluff was bouncing along behind them, singing softly. The wigglytuff was nattering away about something or other, but Rose wasn't paying attention. She was squinting at the sky, struggling to catch sight of her venomoth. Then-
"Oh! I see him!" Rose called, cutting across her pokemon in the middle of her lecture on cute moves.
{Wisp? That idiot...} Coral muttered irritably. Rose was already walking towards her pokemon, using her hand as a sheild from the sun.
"Wisp?" she called, catching sight of the other pokemon that had congealed here. "Who're these guys?" It was then she spotted the other trainers, all which were stood looking apprehensively at the mansion.
{Oh, these fellows were just about to tell me their names.} he replied pompously.
Coral and Lint exchanged glances.
{He'll never change.} Coral muttered.
{Maybe one day he'll remember his monacle.} Lint added sarcastically.
{I heard that!} came Wisp's indignent reply.
Rose smiled awkwardly at the girl with a blastoise, and then to the boy, who's pokemon were also bickering. "The joys of having pokemon, eh?"
She stepped backwards. "I'm Rose. I'm looking for a presidential mansion...?"
OOC:Sorry I haven't posted. Been busy.
IC: Pete walked up to the front door. There were more people here now, two boys and a girl. Pete came up to them.
"Uh, hey," said Pete to the people.
{Really smooth, mister,} said Kazado sarcastically.
"That's it!" yelled Pete, "Shut up or I'll use this Squirtbottle on you!"
{Aaagh!} exclaimed Kazado and he fell silent.
Pleased, Pete gave Pijo a biscuit and gave a mean glare to Kazado. Pijo happily fluttered up onto Pete's shoulder while Kazado lay down on the grass and started to snooze. His tail lazily flicked around on the grass, singing it and leaving burn marks. Pete rolled his eyes and looked at Pijo, far more loyal. Well, it was his first pokemon and he'd caught it by throwing a rock at it to knock it unconscious then tossed his ball. Kazado, he'd caught out by Mount Chimmney. Pete sighed and twiddled his thumbs.
{Of course not, silly!} Pico exclaimed at Wisp's question, bursting into a fit of laughter that caused him to tumble over in the air, {My trainer is Tarin! The bestest trainer there is, except when he wants me to get into that stuffy pok?ball!} the Butterfree pulled a face before his previous grin returned {He's right over there!} he pointed out towards the black-haired boy standing down by the door.
As Rose and her pok?mon made their entry and subsequent comments ensued, Pico burst into another fit of laughter, tumbling over no less than three times before he managed to steady himself. The Venomoth was an even worse snobb than that Yanma he had outperformed in a beauty contest way back when the group had first come to Hoenn. He couldn't for the life of him remember what that Yanma's name was, although he had the distinct impression that it was something like crystal yet not quite that...but no matter, the Butterfree decided, swooping down to greet the new pok?mon instead, the ones that had said the funny things that had made him laugh a while back.
{Hi hi new peoples!} the bug type squeaked, almost colliding with Coral in his eagerness to get to them {Pico am I! Very pleased to meet you, yes? Who are you?}
Tarin, who was busy holding Blackrazor and Jolt a good arms reach away from each other grimaced at the comment of the girl who had just arrived, "Yeah." he said, "They're a real riot..."
{Sissy am I?!} Jolt bellowed, flailing wildly in the air, although he didn't dare to use an electric attack is it would hurt Tarin as well, seeing as how the boy was holding on to both pok?mon. {Come here! I've got a bone to pick with you!}
{Bring it on, tinkerbell!} Blackrazor hissed, brandishing his claws at the Flaffy, although he was as incapable of causing it any harm as it was to him.
{Come on guys!} Kaika tried desperately, his gaze flicking between Jolt and Blackrazor {We're all on the same team! Can't we just get along?}
Both pok?mon stopped for a moment, staring blankly at the Ninetales, and then, replied simultaneously.
{NO!}
And so, the bickering started out again, Tarin giving a weary sigh, before turning his attention back to the girl who introduced herself as Rose.
"I'm Tarin." he replied, "And the presidential mansion is right over there." he gestured towards the building they were all standing in front of. "So, did you get an invite too, then?" he asked, for confirmation more than anything else. The answer was probably obvious though, why else would so many trainers assemble at that one spot?
Just as Tarin had thought through this, another boy came walking over, apparently having an argument with his Charmeleon, although he could only understand one side of it of course, his own pok?mon's speech Tarin had grown to understand, but that of others was still complete gibberish to him.
"Hi." Tarin replied to the boy's call, "I take it, you're another one heading for the mansion, then?"
Rose nodded at the other boy and his charmeleon. "Nice to meet you." she smiled politely, before glancing back at Tarin. "Yeah, I did. Have you got any idea what it's all about?"
Rose felt a little twinge of worry. These were all experienced trainers, and they were here with all their pokemon in tow. Had they been chosen for an expedition to a new region? She wouldn't put it past the president to send some innocent bystanders rather than pay for a proper exploration team. If that was true, well, she's just have to turn him down. She was far too busy to go trapsing through distant jungles. He couldn't buy her with the temptation of glory.
As Pico and Coral collided, the wigglytuff was winded, causing her to shrink to half her usual size. Looking annoyed, she inhaled deeply and blew herself back up again - however, this time her expression was furious.
{Watch it!} she hissed, and brushed herself down. Gah, she thought irritably, What a moron.
Lint was still bouncing about, whistling cheerfully. He came to a halt beside Jolt. {There's nothing wrong with getting in touch with your feminine side!} he told them, and wriggled his pom-poms so a fine layer of dust sprinkled the ground below him. {How pretty!} he exclaimed, as it shimmered and caught the light.
