  • Does it have to be the same starter as my character's? Because Turtwig would be my starter, even though Brutus (my current character in Diamond) picked Chimchar instead because he's a Fighting-type specialist.

Either way, I'd move into the Old Chateau itself. It's not like anyone else is living there, and I love Ghost types, so I wouldn't mind living in a haunted mansion. It's also quite close to Eterna City, which is my favorite city in Sinnoh.

Played Scarlet/Violet last for the epilogue, so there. Leans towards Medali. Seems like a larger town, but not as big as Mesagoza. Passes on the more coastal Levincia for sure.

Assuming normal starters, Sprigatito and hope for no allergies. Could make an argument for non-standard starters. Makes sense to begin with a local Pokemon, right? Almost certainly picks Eevee, in that case. Appears wild in West Province Area 3. (Caught a shiny Eevee just outside Medali, in fact.)

  • Black 2 was technically the last I played, specifically my file has just beated Clay and is still in Driftveil City.
But if I'm not locked to specifically where I was in the game:

I'd definitely start out in Aspertia City, and my starter would be (if I'm locked to Unova), Tepig! I'm not the world's biggest fan of the Unova starters, but Tepig strikes the balance of cute/cool nicely, and even though Emboar is too slow for my liking, it's still a pretty badass design.

I loved the new starting area of Aspertia/Flocessy/Virbank that B2W2 provided. Somehow, it all made me feel the same way GSC made me feel starting out. Maybe it was just so nice to see a little Mareep ranch, maybe the novelty of getting Riolu at the start of a game was stronger than I realised, but everything just fit together nicely for a fresh opening, before we returned to the familiarity of Unova in Castelia City.

  • I've most recently been playing Black 2!

Route 6, maybe? Mostly because the wildlife there and the adjacent Chargestone Cave most closely resembles* that found in my area IRL. Too bad there aren't any moth-mon on the route (aside from Dunsparce anyway, which I like to think in addition to bees and the Tsuchinoko could draw inspiration from snake-mimicking hornworms). As for my starter, given total freedom of choice, it would have to be Oshawott. Snivy if I'm being more realistic (bc greensnakes).

*Origins may not be precise. Unfezant is more pheasant than turkey for example, though both belong to the same
family. And Leavanny, a phasmid, would be more closely related to our stick insects than katydids but I opted for
the latter for the sake of retaining the leaf theme.

  • Well, a couple days earlier and I would've had to go with Paldea and could've started with the grass cat =D

I spent yesterday and today in Shield though, doing some backlog HA/Aprimon breeding. Grookey's a good starter too, but it ain't no grass cat =\
    Anyway...

For the area... I'm torn between two options. Freezington would be a nice snow covered place to live in, but... Ballonlea is like straight out of a fairy tale and I love the place =D
I think I might actually have to go with Ballonlea if forced to choose.

The starter would obviously be Grookey. Scorbunny is nice too, but I just find Cinderace kinda... bland. Sobble is still fine, but it creeps me out more and more as it evolves.

  • Decided to boot up my old Platinum save file today, so we'll go with that.

I'd live in my Villa in the Resort Area, which BTW is fully furnished :)

Piplup obviously is my choice of starter, as it was in game (and my choice when I played BD/SP)

  • Last game I played was shield!
I'd probably turn the regice ruins into a house after I find him shiny :3

As for the starter, I like inteleon the most.

  • Well well well… back to good old Unova! I did just start a new Black 2 Playthrough.
I'd want to live in either Castelia because of it being a big city and easy access to goods or Humilau because I'm more accustomed to to tropical climates.
For a starter I guess I'd choose Snivy, I like it best and grass Pokemon overall.

  • The current game I'm playing through now is Shield… I suppose I remember that final city where the league is located seemed interesting so maybe I'd be there?

And the starter I'd probably have would be the same as the one I'm playing with now, the Water starter. While the Grass one is probably my favourite of the bunch to use the Water starter seems like the one I'd get along with the easiest.

  • I'd be in Paldea, I think it's more interesting to just settle for picking the mainland than say I'd be in Blueberry Academy.

I'd love to live in Levincia, I'm always a sucker for the big cities, especially one next to the water. Something about the tall buildings and flashing lights... 🤍
I'm still not quite sure what my full opinions on the Gen IX starter lines are, but I'd likely pick Sprigatito. I think it would be really pleasant to have around and it's pretty cute! I think it's becoming my favourite of the three.

    • Online now
Paldea. I hope there's more to do in the towns than presented in the games. Otherwise I would go live on a mountain. I like all the starters here pretty equally.

  • been playing through HeartGold again lately so, that's my answer I guess! I'd absolutely love to live in Ecruteak, I know I'm not alone when I say it's one of my absolute favorite towns in all of Pokémon.
as for my starter, I'd probably go with Cyndaquil.

  • Since I'm playing a different game now, I might as well change up my answer. Of course, Fennekin and its evolutions are easily my favorite Kalos starter, but picking a place to live would be much more difficult since I don't have a favorite Kalos city. However, I do have a favorite route in Kalos, Route 8 along the Muraille Coast, which leaves me the option of Ambrette Town and Cyllage City if I want it to be accessible, and I think I'd go with Ambrette because of the aquarium. Dendemille town would also be nice because I like cold temperatures, but not so cold as to be freezing like in Snowbelle.

Last game I played was Emerald while learning how to RNG - so looks like Hoenn would be my home! I think I'd live in Fortree City with Treecko as my starter.

  • Kalos! I'd be living with my partner, Skitty — or Fennekin, if I had to pick a normal starter — in a little studio apartment in Lumiose City near the exit to Route 14. That little playground area at the start of the route, for as insignificant as it is, is one of my favorite locations in the game.

    Edit: Forgot a word. :P
