In Yu-Gi-Oh, there are different ways to get Super Rare and Ultra Rare cards easier. One way is a pocket scale, but I have never used one, and this is not what this thread is exactly about. What I am taking about is things on the pack itself that points to good cards. Here are some examples.

    MFC:
On Magician's Force packs, on Yugi's left eye (Your left, his right), there can be a gray triangle there in the corner. If there is, then that will have a Super or Ultra Rare. It does not work for Secret Rares. I tried this yesterday and I got a Tribe-Infecting Virus (Super Rare).

    DCR:
On Dark Crisis packs, there is a very small black circle on the left side (your left) of Yugi's head, where the hair seperates into different directions, (near the first of the three ligthning bolt yellow hair thingies poiting up.) There on the yellow part of Exodia's pink and yellow stripes, on the yellow stripe there it is.

    IOC:
There is a pattern to the holo's in 7 of the 12 Invasion of Chaos boxes that people have opened. This is for 24pack boxes only. On the left side the holo's were the 4th, 8th, and 11th from the top. On the right side the holo's were 1st, 3rd, and 7th from the top. Also, you can find small black dots in the DMoC's eye and by his mouth in the background on the pack. I tried this yesterday and I got a Reload (Super Rare). I have also found BLS-EotB (Ultra Rare) and Big Burn (Super Rare) from these.

    AST:
For Ancient Sanctuary, in Yugi's left eye (to your right), see if you can find a greenish tint both at the bottom of his eye and the bottom of his eyeball. I pulled a Needle Burrower (Super Rare) From one of these.

I hope that these tips will help you all in getting better cards from packs.

    *imagines the scenario...*

    Latios Master is checking every single booster back in front of him for all these little guidances, as he holds the booster up to the light and do all these "strange" stuff with the booster backs, as everyone else in the store eyes at him strangely O.o;

The thing is... do those shopkeepers really allow you to be flipping through piles and piles of boosters like that to search for these little marks for rares?

I was thinking that someone would notice, but no one did. XD I guess at a big store like Wal-Mart, people are too busy with other things and don't care.

Those soudn like they may actually work. :\ The only pack trick I had heard up to this point is to bend the pack slightoly, and try to feel which one gives the most resistance. The more resistance you get, the rarer the card. I've only tried it a few times, but it doesn't seem to really work for me. Either that, or the differences are to vague for me to notice. :\

They'd certainly notice me spazzing at the terrible quality of the pictures of Yami on the front, so maybe this is a better approach to my buying YGO cards. x3

I'll try this next time I see 'em. =o

some shopkeepers dont actually allow you see the cards so i try a different approach. i wont tell it here but if you ask on pm ill gladly tell you. i got a decication of light and darkness from this. XD

Yeah. I've known that there ARE signs in boosters out in front for sure. I actually didn't believe it at first, but when the guy pulled out 2 call of the haunteds, and 4 other holographic cards in a row from a single Pharoh's Servant box...it's true. I'm not sure if the other ones are like that, but they say that at least all of the boosters up until Servant had those types of markings that make them unique.

So why did I blab all this? I'm saying go for it, you've got nothing to lose anyway.

im so trying this XD i always did the scale (well try to see what felt bigger) but it never worked for me :( :'(

sounds good i shall try it soon enough! Thanks for the tip! (can see some yugioh exec come here and see it and get all panicked lol)

    Whats a pocket scale?
Thats a weird trick, I think I would stick to the normal purchasing thing where I just take packs from the box. It could be worth a try.
Some kid could be next to you wondering why you are staring into booster packs like that, anyways well I'll tell my cousin this.
Probably its good for collecting but only if your desperate you know.

My Uncle's friend heard about this but couldn't find out where the markings were.

*goes to get some Dark Crisis packs to get the Terrorking Archfiend to complete his Archfiend set using this method*

I haven't played YGO in about a year, so forgive me if they dont do this anymore or it doesn't work any more. But There used to be a faint blue line under the 1st edition writing on a 1st Edition pack, now I don't remember what ratity this gets you. And I've only tried it a few times. But it did work the times I tried.( Ididn't try it much, because of the lack of 1st edition boosters, and over the counter card sellers.)

Hmm, I'll try! Maybe I'll finally get MoBC, RMB, CCM + BSoD! n.n
(Off-topic, but isn't it odd how they didn't translate Burst Stream of Destruction as White Lightning of Destruction?)

I usually have trouble finding the little lines or dots on the packs. I know my local cardshop guy well, and he's seen me try all sorts of tricks on the Packs, but these I will try.

I just tried the IOC trick, well I thought I did, and I got s stupid Stray Lambs.
