Seeing as the last thread passed over the revival limit and I wanted to talk about this a bit, let's make a new one one this topic! Speaking specifically about the games here - since in the anime many areas can look vastly different - cast your vote for your favorite city! You can base it on anything - prettiest, most relevant to the plot, etc - but obviously explain your choice. Go as in-depth as you like!

Hmm, I think I really like Verdanturf Town. Obviously it's pretty tiny but I love how it looks in both the original games and ORAS - it's kinda beautiful. It's the home of one of my favorite characters, that being Wally. Besides that, I'm not sure what it is about it that makes me adore the place. Maybe it just gives off a quaint feel.

Also, oh boy do I love Humilau City. Definitely my favorite city in Unova, and it might be my favorite in the entire games - seeing as Verdanturf is technically a town. Humilau has a really funny Gym Leader, a cool design motif, and an amazing palette to match. It's probably inspired by Pacifidlog Town, but it's wayyy nicer. I love beach cities - there are a lot of really well-made ones, both in the official games and in fangames - and the concept of extending the city into the water via the wooden bridges makes the place really neat.

    Now it's your turn!

Does anyone remember Pacifidlog Town in Hoenn? Super quaint, village-y looking place far out in the middle of nowhere?
    The best part about Pacifidlog:
    Spoiler:

Also I love the fact that it's totally out of the way and completely irrelevant to the plot. If you weren't looking at the map much you could easily beat the entire game and miss it, then just stumble upon it one day and have a mind=blown moment because you think you've seen everything there is to see. And you know what? In Emerald, that's exactly how I did discover it.

In my opinion, Johto has some of the best towns/cities in the Pokemon world. Olivine City is high up on my list but Ecruteak City is definitely my favourite. There's loads of places in Pokemon that have cool features or big skylines, but I just love the traditional place that Ecruteak is, the golden trees are really beautiful and I always had fun challenging the Kimono girls and exploring the Bell Tower.

Mauvile looks like those semi-metropolitan like,Pacifidlog because it was middle of vast ocean and there's only city with no actual pokemart

    1. Kanto: Cerulean City because everything is a calming shade of blue when it's in color, there's that little bridge and cape to the North and because Mewtwo is close by.

Lavender Town because it's terrifying and heartbreaking, and do I really need to say anything about the music?

Celadon because it's bright, colorful and you get so many things, including an Eevee.

Johto: Ecruteak because of the lore surrounding it and the music.

Hoenn: Petalburg because of the music, the fact that you have to revisit and fight a more challenging gym leader in an early city, and because of the kid talking about his somber reflection at the South-West pond.

Slateport because it's a bustling sea port. That mood was conveyed well. And because a lot of stuff goes down there.

Sootopolis because of its mystic origin, the lore, just the idea of a city being build inside a crater, the pretty buildings and because it is the place where things go down.

Verdanturf because it's calming, and the way its air rejuvenates Wally makes me happy because I used to be a sickly kid.

Mauville but only in the original.

Sinnoh: Eterna City because music and lore.

Celestic town because music and lore.

Snowpoint because snow and the gentle music. The shiny snow thing is also a nice touch.

Veilstone because the music, the game corner and the rocky terrain give it a sketchy atmosphere, especially at night.

Unova: Castelia because it's big and fancy.

Aspertia because of the music and because I was blown away that there could be a second starting town in the same region.

Humilau because it felt like an updated Pacifidlog.

Opelucid in White because it's where things go down and because how the flute gets louder the closer you get to the girl. Also because it had the first hint to a multiverse.

Village Bridge even though it's not a city. Listening to the music swell up as you talk to the NPCs is charming.

Kalos: Aquacorde because of the music and it's where the water looks the best.

    Shalour because Mega evolution.

Anistair because of the cryptic sundial whose purpose hasn't been revealed yet.

    Wow, that was a mouthful.

I think Virbank City deserves a worthy mention. It really has that grunge vibe and it delivers that well through the design and music. Roxie is a fitting Gym Leader with her awesome underground music club, she actually happens to be one of my favourite Gym Leaders too. Overall I'd say Virbank is just the city that stands out most for me from Unova.

Sootopolis definitely, both old and new. The new one just definitely made it so much better. The vibrant green and the serene waterscape. The garden that holds the connections with XY. It is just stunning and light to the eyes. Plus, the score with its joyful tone, and enough to be calming and reminiscent of the beauty that is Sootopolis. Add to it the lore it holds, answering the mystery of why people would live inside a secluded area. It's simply the most beautiful area for me in Hoenn!! (and could even compare to the other region's cities!) It's Beautifly made!

Well, my favorite town per region is :

    - Cinnabar Island, Kanto : Somehow, I got a real pleasure getting to this town in the storyline, I feel like I would stay in there forever (of course, before the volcano's eruption).

    - Cianwood City, Johto : I found this town well placed and relaxing, living next to the sea, that kind of thing :)

    - Lavaridge Town, Hoenn : Mainly for the hot springs and the warm feeling that town gave me everytime I get into :)

    - Sunyshore City, Sinnoh : Well, in Sinnoh I don't really found any place I would come to love that much, but this one would be the first, it has some kind of good ambiant :)

    - Humilau City, Unova : Probably the best town ever made in Pokemon, I feel so good there, one place I would chose without hesitation to live in real life, really got a warm feeling coming from it :)

    - Couriway Town, Kalos : Well, same as Sinnoh, despite being french, I don't really found a well suited place for me there, so the best I can come across is that town filled with waterfalls and rivers.

I like most of the town's that are presented, why they are important and how they are well loved! If the time would arise, would you like to see some of these towns be redesigned should a remake come? :)

I personally would want the Ecruteak city redesigned in full 3D as seen in Pokémon Generations!

My favorite town in game is Floaroma from Sinnoh, hands down. It feels like home. It's so warm, cozy, beautiful, just amazing in general. I love it sooo much.

I forgot about that one! It's kinda forgettable sometimes because not much happens in the town itself, but it's really cute and cozy I agree ^_^

Oh, completely agree on this one! I guess I forgot Floaroma because it wasn't memorable plot-wise. But I loved the ambience of that town and its backdoor flower garden.
