XYZ material rulings to be overturned

Well, there has been serious rumors that the OGC rulings are going to be adopted.
This means the famous Tour Guide + Sangan won't work as we know it now.

The rumored rulings are stating that when the two/three monsters are stacked, they are no longer classed as being on the field, so, for example, Sangan's effect will not kick in. Same as Reborn Tengu and so forth.

What do you think guys? Massive price drop in TG? Personally, I think they will drop to 2 in decks, just for insta exceed still. TG gets TG = Exceed.

My source is the new SJ mag which has the rulings in it.

    All I can say is:

    Crap

My combos in JDTP will no longer be so potent, and the ruling that overlayed cards not being on the field doesn't make sense. If these rulings are adopted, its seriously going to change my gameplay. I don't want them to happen, since it would slow down my JDTP considerably, and it would ruin my fun D:

I am certainly happy that I didn't buy or trade for any Tour Guides because I know they will drop in price if this happens.
I agree that I am going to have to edit my deck maybe, but I will have to see; unless they come out with an official ruling for us, I will just keep playing as normal.

However, I wanted to post this still! :3

So no more LOLTourGuidexSanganxEffectVieler shenanigans? XYZ is back to being almost useless then, what made them great is able to trigger monster effects when they get remove from them.

Tour Guide will probably go down to $90-100 since TG is an instant xyz and fills grave for BLS summoning.

This is a good thing though, I never like XYZ monster xD Konami needs to make more synchros <3

Far from it. Their effects are still amazing, and in my Twilight deck, I can easily trigger monster effects other ways, so it hasn't changed too much for me.

rumors are just that...rumors. do you know how bad this would affect current gameplay and prices?

I wish I had the scan of the SJ mag but it is printed in black and white in there, it is just a matter of Konami coming about and agreeing or disagreeing.
Gameplay wouldn't be changed that much, only thing that is really going to be hit is Tour Guide combo and Exceed Tengu combos, since most people use that.

And I know prices will be hit, but I prefer that so I can get my hands on them.

That's why I said almost. Right now everyone is going wild over xyz because of Tour Guide > Sangan > Veiler. If ruling does change, the only xyz that would actually see play is Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, Utopia, and Steelswarm Roach, other than that people would revert back to using synchros.

It's for the better. This format is already messed up with having BLS, Judgement Dragon running around without Royal Oppression, the whole TGxSangan just broke BLS even more.

The prices? Tour Guide was $15 before the whole ruling change. And rose to $200 once Kevin Tewart change the whole xyz ruling. All top deck besides budget agents uses Tour Guide. Why? Because pulling a 2500+ monster and getting Effect Veiler sets you up for the rest of the game. Not to mention able to summon BLS once you drop Veiler.

And no It wouldn't affect the gameplay. OCG uses the same ruling stated on the Jump Magazines. The only reason TCG change the ruling was to sell xyz and creating a OP card. OCG is currently doing fine without the whole ruling change, so I doubt it would affect TCG that much.

Edit: TCG gets OCG XYZ ruling.

Some monsters have effects that activate when they "leave the field". For example, these effects activate when the monster is sent to the Graveyard, or is banished, or is returned to the hand or Extra Deck. When a monster on the field is shuffled into the Main Deck, or becomes an Xyz Material, it is no longer a card on the field, however its effects that activate when it "leaves the field" will not activate

Tour Guide is still good but this should make this bad format a little more bearable until October.
And LOL I think I can hear the cries of all the people who blew $600 on Tour Guide >:]

Tour Guide is still a great opening move being able to get out a 2500+ beater. That's the only reason Tour Guide won't drop to less than $70, because of how it can set the field up quickly.

And Tour Guide is still amazing in Dark World and Chaos/Agents. Other than that, it's not splash TourGuide+Sangan+Veiler+BLS in a deck format anymore.

Oh no, this is not good. This will slow JDTP to a crawl now with out abusing Tour Guide and Sangan, so I really need to start having a look at Fairies again :/

Agent Fairies are currently the cheapest and most consistent top deck right now. Since Kristya/POD has been re-printed the only money card you need is Solemn Warning. Basically you can make a top one agent by buying 3 lost sanc and 3 pod and 2 kristya and replace solemn warning with bth. I've seen some people do that who couldn't afford Warnings.

LOL 3/4 of my Locals play Agents, I troll them with Light Imprisoning Mirrors.

Yeah, I've been thinking that I should build Agent Fairies, because its funny when Kristya locks your opponent completely XD I might build a Valhalla variant too, since that is pretty fun, from what I've seen.

Yeah it's pretty fun. You can even play Herald Hyperion which is pretty amazing from what I been seeing this past few days.

Agents are so consistent right now because they are the only ones that have 6 draw cards. 3 POD and 3 CFTS.

I never cared which way this would go. I just wanted a final decision. I'm tired of changing my deck every time I meet up with my friends because of new rulings.

This was rather unsurprising, but mildly disappointing.

I ate an orange however and it was 'k. (I knew about this but I've been inactive.)

Tour Guide is still good, just not as abusively good as it was before.
