    Why answer this question? Wynaut!

An egg is given to players in-game that contains a Wynaut, a prevolution form of Wobbuffet. What did you make of it? Did you use it?

A little known fact about this egg is that originally, in the Japanese beta version of Ruby and Sapphire, the same egg was given out to players on Dewford Island, instead of Lavaridge Town.

It's also available on Mirage Island of course.

I passed over Wynaut during my playthrough. I never found Wobbuffet useful, it was just a Destiny Bond, light screen hacker. During Gen 3 I mainly focused on Attacking. Iv'e seen a few people use Wobbuffet, but it never seemed effective.

Like above, I've hatched it and put Wynaut into my PC. I know you could always breed Wobbuffet to get a hold of these Pokémon, but I wasn't such an expert in things like this as I am now, so I haven't exactly considered it; rather, I thought that it was impossible to capture this Pokémon aside either from hatching the special egg or getting yourself into Mirage Island, somehow.

Boxed it. It's kinda hard for me to use it as well, but I did find it quite cute haha.

Evolved and boxed, since ingame I don't really care much for the type of gameplay that using Wobbuffett really requires. I like to hit hard and fast and a movepool of under 20 defensive moves isn't really going to help me out there. I was never able to get to Mirage Island, though, so I was still very grateful for the egg or I never would have been able to complete my Pokedex.

I was kinda curious about what the egg was. I hatched it, and once I saw it's moveset, I decided it was not my type and immediately boxed it. Never found out Wobbufett's offspring was Wynaut, haha. Never got to Mirage Island too!

I would get the egg, but never use it. Wobbuffet is way too situational to really use in-game, and it would be a gigantic chore to train up, so I don't think it's something to really bother with.

I sort of wish a rarer Pokemon had been given out--I get that Wynaut is only available on the ever-so-elusive Mirage Island, but Wobbuffet can be found and given Lax Incenses to get Wynaut. A Feebas would've been a really nice gift, or a Chimecho since they're fairly hard to find. That being said, I still take the egg every time and hatch it (I usually don't have a full team by then), but I box the Wynaut afterwards.

Nah. I hatched it and immediately boxed it. My battle style (if I can really say that I have one) doesn't allow for it, really.

I tried to use it a couple of times - the first time I received it (as my Blaziken had Blaze Kick, Flamethrower, Dynamicpunch and Fire Blast at the Elite Four you can guess how that turned out :P), and a few years back I tried it again, but the pre-physical/special-split pokémon world is a dangerous place for someone who only began to understand the game mechanics properly in Gen IV, and it just wound up getting wrecked by Mightyena all the time as Counter didn't work on Bite.

I like it, its your first introduction to a pre-evo of previous generation's pokémon in the game, barring an Azurill you encounter in Slateport City, and it's really rare in the wild.

Much as I would love to be gifted a Feebas or Chimecho, I would say your point is similar to complaining about Larvesta in Gen V, when you can capture a lv. 70 Volcarona later in the game. Although in that particular example the location of the egg is more problematic.

That Wynaut Egg was the first pokemon egg I ever received and hatched; back then I didn't know that the number of steps were the main factor in hatching eggs, so I thought you actually had to go to certain places to keep it warm. I stayed away from shoal cave and avoided diving, and instead walked in circles around the Lavaridge hot springs until the egg hatched :P

I recall hatching and actually trying to use Whynaut, but boxed it after a couple of hours in game. I liked Wobbuffet but it just didn't jive with my team at the time so I guess I just had to box it.
I still have my old Emerald game so I guess it wouldn't be to hard to finally evolve that Whynaut just for the sake of it XD

Hatched it, then tried to use it, but it too hard, so it got boxed like every other Wynaut. I might want to breed a perfect one sometime, though. No one uses Wobbuffet, so it would be fun to do that.
