Why did Ash get his old hat replaced (season 1-5 {Indigo - Master Quest)

    Why did he? Why would he ditch a one in one hundred, limited edition official hat of the official Pokemon league with some random hat that didn't have that kind of significance. This was explained in Season 1 Episode 25: Primeape Goes Bananas. If you got the DVD of Pokemon the First movie on put on Norman J. Grossfeld's commentary, even he pointed out that it was significant! Why did he ditch that awesome hat?

    Not to mention his new one isn't nearly as awesome...
     
    Well he changes it every time he goes to a new region.
     
    It doesn't really fit with his new outfits, I think. It only goes with his Kanto outfit

    For that exact reason: the hat was related only to the Kanto and Johto Pokemon Leagues. There was a law in Hoenn that prevented him from wearing anything that advertised those two regions, so his entire outfit had to be left with his mother. That is also the reason why he always has to leave his badges at home, as opposed to dragging them around everywhere in order to gloat.






    In all honesty, the writers most likely decided to change Satoshi/Ash's outfit because of the generation cut in the games, as well as the "completely starting over" concept that was being run Pokemon-wise.
     
    Because his original eventually got lame.

    I aggre Drew his old cap got annoying and old but he changed outfits and that included his Hat thats all its not that big of a deal
     
    ^ _ ^ yah i sorta liked his old hat and clothes lolz but that's just me! Anywho, whatever he wears now is just as fine as his old clothes no biggie.. <3 i'll luv him anyway XD
     
    They should revamp his original look. Go back to his old outfit with only subtle difference. But honestly, who really cares. XD
     
    I honestly thought his Hoenn outfit was the best.

    Hat-wise, too. xD;

    So I didn't mind that he ditched his original hat, really.

    ...is there really such a law? I just recall Ash's mom saying that he should just have some new clothes because she's such a good mother and cares for his hygene since apparently he doesn't.
     
    Actually, if I remember correctly, it was because it got all torn up and went very usless. I think that was in the episode "Gotta Catch Ya Later".

    Or because he's Ash. One of those.
     
    Uh...I guess Ash's head got bigger...
    ...and lice can build up in a hat that has been worn nonstop on a head of hair that's not brushed everday...

    Since when did this happen? I'm officially done with Pokemon. I'll post a thread tomorrow how my love for Pokemon sprouted from his hat.

    I'd like to see him wear his original outfit, HAT included, same with Brock. Then Misty could make an appearance with them. >w>

    That could be the last episode, or something..
