Why can we only migrate 6 Pokemon a day per cartridge? I never got this, why can't I? Even if I had no restrictions it would of taken a good couple of months to migrate my 700ish Pokemon from, fire red, leaf green, sapphire, ruby, emerald and the console games... :l

So you play the game for longer.

Why play for a whole year and migrate pokemon slowly when you can migrate all at once? You wont. Basically to keep people interested in pokemon and the whole franchise.

It is just so Nintendo sees your active I believe. It beats migrating 6 Pokemon a game every week, doesn't it?

Ya know, there is a way around that. If you have more than one GBA Pokémon game. Migrate 6 like you normally would from one game, then save and turn the power off. Put in the other cartridge that you don't want to migrate from, and move the ahead by a day (or more, it really doesn't matter). Then go to your game's menu and try to migrate from the GBA game. You won't be able to, but it'll synch the game's info with the DS. At this point you can put the game you want to migrate from back in and proceed to migrate. This can be repeated as many times as you want.

Lol, but yeah, I guess I sorta need to answer the question, so I'll say that eccentric. reach's post is dead on.

@ groudonlover: Um... wow... okay, it's good to see you posting a different thing........ or not.

There is a glitch that enables you to transfer unlimited amounts of Pokés in only one day, discovered by PKMN.NET:
First, you'll need two Pokémon Advance GamePaks.
Insert the first GamePak and transfer 6 Pokés, and catch'em in the PalPark, just as usual.
Then, shut down the game(don't SoftReset), and swap the GamePak with another, and power up the DS.
On the menu choose Options and set the date to one day forward, and start the game.
Now, choose Migrate, and it'll tell you to sync the Game Clock to the DS clock, choose yes, wait a while for it to save, and shut down the game.
Swap back to the first GP again and you'll see that you can once again transfer 6 Pokés; keep doing that and you'll be done real soon!
I used that to transfer my complete RubyDex, around 250 Pokés in only one day!

Haha I'll have to try that some day. But dont glitches sort of ruin the fun of the game? Id rather play the game as it is and only migrate 6 a day, as Nintendo intended me to do xD

LOL thats the same technique i used to trannsfer
all my pokemon from saphirre to pearl
then i only had to get 150moar pokemon :)
    good glitch though

because 7 would be to many

but seriously now, i cant really come up with an explanation.

WHat annoys me though is that the 'timer' resets if you mess with the DS clock

    the reason is simple,
because arceus made it like that.
    it has the power >:3

But I really only think it is because they want you to be interested in it as long as possible. I sure learned the hard way. I mean, I had 200 hours on that damn game. I'm neverrrrr doing that again. this is why i don't play anymore, it's a timewaster! xD

I don't think it's to keep you interested in the game at all. What's fun or interesting about catching your pokemon? apart from having them in gen 4 now. I think it's just Nintendo's awkwardness or something, or not wanting that pal park area flooded with pokemon.

Not one serious answer...meh its the norm so yeah.
The reason why is cause your team fits only 6 Pokemon and like your team the slots to migrate Pokemon are 6.

I'm not sure. But I wish it was more. I'm tired of sending them all over :/

But that is 6 a time. You should still be able to go back after you empty your team and get 6 more.

You can get around that by setting it to a minute before midnight. That's what I do to change swarms, anyways.

    no not really.

only affects in game time events, but not pal park. Even if you move the clock one minute, it resets and you gotta wait 24 hours starting from when you messed with the clock

I guess it's a way to keep you playing the game...gives the player something to do.

I really don't like it, though. It's really inconvenient, especially when you only need to migrate ONE pokemon. When I need to transfer ONE, I have to go out and catch FIVE MORE things just so I can transfer..

Sometimes even Nintendo makes misstakes; such as that stupid limit...
If you have to transfer 700(!) Pokés, it'll take years with it "/
actually it would only take about 105 days
