3rd Gen Which of these movesets should I use for scizor?

    Which of these 3 do you like better and why? I can't decide 100%... ~_~
     
    I guess it all depends on the type of battling you want to do with your Scizor. I know if I was putting together a defensive Scizor, I'd probably go with a mix of your three movesets, and give it Silver Wind/Swords Dance/Iron Defense/Toxic, though Scizor probably isn't the best Pokemon to use as a wall.

    If you're more interested in an offensive Scizor, your second moveset is pretty good. You've got two decent physical attack options powered up by Swords Dance, and Toxic to badly poison enemies before you're KOed yourself. I'm not the greatest with movesets, but that's probably the one I'd go with, at least when I don't what role it's going to play on your team.

    I am an 'offensive type guy', but i somehow realized that iron defense would be a extremely good strategy in competitive battling.

    Iron Defense is not that good since there's no recovery method (outside of Leftovers) in Gen 3.

    I would rather remove Toxic with Agility, so it can outspeed more Pokémon but if you dont want, thats fine too. And as Nish said, my playstyle is also offensive.
     
    Silver Wind is special attack i dont know why it is good for Scizor while its base attack is 130, Metal claw has STAB as well it is a physical attack and possibly boost attack by one stage.
    In Emerald I would use Sword dance + Iron defense/double team, they are the best stats boost in the game Scizor just happen to learn all.

    The last move is facade same base power as slash but double to 140 if user is burned, poisoned, or paralyzed.

    Seriously with only one weakness to fire and resist most typing, with iron defense or double team and 100 base defense, your opponent is so desperate to take you down and they(NPC or human) will most likely inflict status condition on you, once that happen you can easily OHKO most poke with facade, with sword dance.. it is pretty much anything.

    Scizor is one of the best poke in the game.

    The third gen games are prior to the physical/special split, so all Bug type moves (including Silver Wind) are physical attacks. Metal Claw is still a good option though if you're looking to use a Steel type move for Scizor.

    Oh yes, in gen 3 blaze kick is special, shadow ball is physical, outrgae is special... it is ridiculous. Thats why i play only hack rom if i ever go back to gen 3.
    Gen 3 is still my favourite though.
