2nd Gen where can i find a water stone on g/c/s

    sorry im putting up so many questions. but where can i find a water stone on g/c/s? i need 2 evole my poliwhirl.
     
    I had the same problem on my Crystal version. Get the phone number of the guy under Sudowoodo and eventually he'll find a water stone for you (only in Crystal), or go to Cerulean Cape and visit Bill's Grandfather, show him the pokemon he wants to see and he'll get you water stone after a few pokemon.
     
    what guy under the sudowoodo?i havent gotten past the elite 4 yet so i cant go 2 bills grandfather
     
    I meant, go south of where you fought Sudowoodo, there is a trainer that has a tangela. After you beat him, get him to give you his phone number. He says he'll call you when he finds a rare stone.
     
    After Goldenrod there's a wiggly tree that you need to sprinkle with water, and that's Sudowoodo. Under him there is a trainer who will give you his phone number. Hope this helps.

    by the way you might not want to evolve your Poliwhirl before you beat the elite four, because if teach it and Ice type attack you can beat Will's Xatus without having Psychic faint you.
     
    sweet. but i already have a suicune which has ice attacks.
     
    in cyrstal there is a fisherman that if u get his number he ocasionaly calls to give u a water stone other wise u have to trade 1 from R/B/Y.

    You are right but you can do it the other way around. Luckily, none of the Johto pokemon evolve with the old stones so you can trade Kanto pokemon into RBY as long as they don't have any new moves. Only problem with this is if the Pokemon you are trying to evolve has an egg move that never existed in RBY and you plan on using this Pokemon in competitive battle, you would have to delete that move.
     
    all I can say is just bring over a Poliwrath thats all I can think of now
