What's your favorite gen 9 music?

First 2 things that come to mind for me are:

I'm not really a big fan of the music in this generation, to be honest. In fact, I only really liked two songs, which is the Blues theme in the city of Medali with the harmonicas because it's so laid back and serene, and the theme that plays during the battle with Director Clavell simply because it goes hard. At first, I didn't like the Medali theme because I thought the harmonicas were obnoxious at first, but it grew on me over time when I realized how relaxing it was.

Overall, I believe the music was lacking and repetitive in the game. I also expected the themes to sound more Spanish similar to how Alola's music sounded more Polynesian and like you were at a paradise, but instead, we mostly got bland and lackluster music for the most part.

Love the fact that Toby Fox had involvement in the arrangement of a good number of tunes in this gen, an absolute genius! Personally, Team Stars grunt battle theme is by far my favourite so far, the slick guitar works so well (just a shame you usually defeat them before the tunes loops back around!)

Team Star had an incredible theme and probably my favorite team theme in a while. Last time I liked one this much was probably Aqua/Magma. The boss's battle theme is also A+. Their excellent music really made me warm up to them. :')

I love the Area Zero music, especially the part that sounds like "No" in Japanese, as in "Let's get TF out of here!" My head canon is that they are singing a majestic song about the wonderous location and then decide that it's too dangerous and want to leave.

I hear you! I love the Area Zero music too. It really sounds ominous, like you're in a place that you're not truly supposed to be in, as if trouble is brewing!

Team Star boss battle's as its heavy guitar based attitude is pretty cool. Also, the academy's which feels very adventurous and gym leader battle's.

Geeta's Champion theme, Treasures of Ruin battle theme, Tagtree Thicket, Casseroya Lake, Bamboo Forest & Academy Ace Tournament.

I think both Swo/Shi and PLA had overall themes I liked more, but the Area 0 theme is incredible. Definitely my favourite in the game. I still found it very repetitive and sometimes while exploring the area, I was kinda tired of listening to it, but it's definitely a well made theme. As soon as I heard it the first time, I was like: "this isn't the usual Pokemon theme". It's very different from the other themes in the entire game and it totally worked with the part of the story it was in. I also love the fact that it kinda mixes modern sound and those ethereal voices that seem to recall an older style of music, along with the sound of what they seem to be some old Asian instruments. It's really cool.

Then, I'd say Geeta's theme. Actually, the first time I listened to it, I really didn't like it and I thought it was really kinda bad as it didn't even had such an important role in the battle. But, after listening to a violin cover of the theme, I really started to like it!

Yeah, fun fact here. You know the claps that you can hear when you are facing the ace pokemon of a gym leader and they terastalize them. It's a rythm that you WILL hear in many sports competitions in Spain from the audience. So, like what would happen if you were watching, say, a Real Madrid vs Barça football match, you can hear the fans clapping to cheer for the leader (or maybe the player). Exactly the same, I mean.

I agree that there is a lack of spanish guitar, though, but I enjoyed the music in the games, and a lot of little details I noticed had me going crazy because I didn't expect them. Like the clapping I said, or the mailboxes, which are exactly like the ones you'd find, at least some years ago, in any town or city of spain. And this one is from the spanish localization team, but in Levincia there is one shop which name is Mercapletora, a reference to Mercadona, a spanish market chain that was founded in Valencia (Levincia is based on Valencia, or at least it is where Valencia would be).
