Which do you think is the hardest pokemon to raise?

Wobbafets are pretty grueling; they take freaking forever. (Not to mention Magikarps)!

This belongs in the General games discussion.
I think Shuckle is the hardest to raise because it's attack is low.And I already used the only TM 6 (Toxic) in the game. Not to mention I used up Sandstorm too.

Magikarps arn't hard to raise, all you have to do is have it first, then switch it out w/ a strong pokemon. i bought the Magikarp on route 4, and had a gyaradose by the time I got to LT. Surge...although it was useless for that battle...lol

No Pokemon are reallly to hard to raise if you train on the right things and put a little effort in.

no pokemon is hard to raise when you have a few EXP.shares equiped onto pokemon in your party. Just go battle the Elite four with your strongest pokemon and the one your trying to train It'll soon gain alot of levels.

Trying to get a level 5 Larvitar to evolve into a Tyranitar with deccent stats is such a pain.

Aerodactyl, Arcanine, Cloyster, Donphan, Dragonite, Exeggutor, Gyarados, Heracross, Houndoom, Lanturn, Lapras, Mantine, Miltank, Piloswine, Pinsir, Rhyhorn, Skarmory, Snorlax, Stantler, Starmie, Tauros, Tentacruel, and Tyranitar are the hardest non-legendary FRLG Pokes to raise. They all take 1.25 million Exp Points to get to Lv100.

There are some RSE Pokes that are even harder: Breloom, Crawdaunt, Hariyama, Illumise, Seviper, Swalot, and Wailord all require 1.64 million. Now that is tough. Get one of them to Lv100 without Rare Candies or cheating and you have my respect. That is commitment.

    edit: spelling

^What he said (also its nice to meet an adult Pokemon player :))

Agreeing with Wobbuffet and Shuckle due to the fact that they can't mow opponents down without taking a lot of time. Also Shedinja (even though levels up very fast) is hard to raise without any back up since almost all Pokemon have something to kill it.

Anything that I would be EV training with a 4/252/252 EV spread is tough for me.

Synchronize, do you have a RSE game, or a friend that does? If so, set up 6 Secret Bases and then put 6 Pokes in each base that give you 3 EV points in each category. Every day you can battle to earn 18 EV points. Attach the Macho Brace and it is 36 points. After 7 days of battles, your Poke will have the 252 EV points.

That's actually a really good idea, but wouldn't you need six friends, since connecting and swapping data erases the old shared data?

Mixing records doesn't erase old data (pertaining to Secret Bases). That only happens when you mix records with someone who has the same SB location as one you already have. You can have up to 10 SB locations registered, but I am pretty sure you can have more locations. Registering them is what you do when you want to share them with your friends. I think.

Anyway, I have 8 SB locations on my Emerald. Six of them are for EV training. One has six Riachu (3 SPEED EV each), one has six Clefable (3 HP EV each), one has six Shiftry (3 ATT EV each), you get the idea. I just traded some Yugioh cards for a Sapphire game, and so I am going to see just how many SB you can have one game. If I can have 7 locations of each stat, that is going to be awesome. EV training done in one day. I cannot wait to get started!

Oh, I see. I should try that, then. Thanks for the heads-up!

I find Bagon fairly annoying to train up to a Salamence. Takes too long x_x

The easiest way to train Bagon, is to do your EV training as soon as it hatches. Once that is done, stuff Rare Candies down its throat or give it Exp Share and take it to the E4 a dozen times. If you have Bagon holding Exp Share be your first Poke, and then switch it out to a much stronger Poke, it will earn 3/4 of the Exp points from a battle instead of the normal 1/2 if it wasn't involved in the battle at all.

If you are short on Rare Candies, simply raise a Linoone team up to Lv41. Then, run to Route 102/103 and battle wild Pokemon. Linoone have the Pickup ability, so after a few battles, check your Linoone and a few of them should be holding items. Lv41-49 Linoone give you the best opportunity to find Rare Candies. I have a stash of 120 RC that I use to feed newly hatched Pokes to get them up to Lv20 so I can get a pretty accurate calculation of their IVs. I find the good Pokes, reset the game and release the bad Pokes out into the wild (that sounds pretty humane, eh?). It takes time, but your strong Pokes will thank you for it later when they can go up against Legendary Pokes.

Ah, I see. I train mostly for Pok?dex rather than battle, so I don't really mind about EVs - in fact, I've only just learnt to understand them - it's just time-consuming, whether I use the daycare or not.

Well, if you don't EV train, then it is even faster! Have it hold Exp Share, trade it to another version, go battle the E4, have it in front of your team and then switch it out right away. Not only will it get 3/4 of the Exp Points of every battle, but traded to another game will help it earn Exp 50% quicker too. A half dozen E4 battles should do it.

k for your karp karp lol attach a exp share... but thats only if your later in the game

Any Pok?mon with an extreme growth curve, but Duskull is a real pain in the neck to train >.> It doesn't learn any good attack moves and doesn't have good enough attacks to actually OHko wild Pok?mon that actually give a decent amount of exp points and useful EVs -_-

Wobbufet's a pain to train because a battle could last a long time if a linoone keeps using odor slueth or something. >_>
