4th Gen What is the best Fire type in HG/SS?

My guess would be Arcanine.

What factors are you basing your decision on? I think Typhlosion, Flareon and Ninetales are all equal competitors for best Fire type, not to mention Ho-Oh.

And are you considering post-league Pokemon?

My pick would be Typhlosion. Magmortar is really good too, but evolving it is really inconvenient. I also like Arcanine, Rapidash, and Ninetales. There are a lot of great fire types! :D

My pick would be Infernape, because of its huge variety of moves it can yield and it has an even base Attack and Sp. Atk stat.

I'd have to say Typhlosion, Arcanine, Magmortar if you can get it, Houndoom, Charizard, or Blaziken. Probably a mixup between Typhlosion, Blaziken, or Magmortar overall.

This seems too generic a thread, imo - if we have one for grass types or fire types, why not then have one for every type? Which would just end up clogging up the section and begs the question of 'couldn't you apply this to any other Pokemon game either', which'd result in the answer of the Pokemon Voting Polls subsection of Pokemon General being a more suitable location for such threads. Plus, if you want advice on Pokemon to use in your team, you should check out the In-game Team help subsection of Competitive Battling Centre's section, not here (as stated in the rules of this section).
