What had happened to Misty?!

I've just been watching Pokemon: Advanced Battle and this thought occured to me: What had actually happened to Misty? Can you guys solve it?

You have missed a lot so here a little catch up.

Ash made the top 8 in the Johto league and they went back to Kanto. While in Virenden Brock had to go back home while Misty was asked to take care of the Gym while her sisters take a vacation. So Ash was alone and he went to Hoenn which he later met May and Max then later Brock was reunited. Misty is still at the Gym.

She did came back for two episodes and her togipi evoled and left her. She then left to take care of the gym.

At the end of Hoenn, she magically appears and returns for two episodes and goes as far as Mt. Moon with Ash as he is Battle Frontier bound. She interacts with Max as they were separated from the main group because of Team Rocket, reunite, and goes back to the Gym as her sisters return and made a mess of things.

As far as I know, that's what's she doing up to the current Japanese episodes.
