Typhlosion has the quadruped body type in the Pokedex:

In a lot of ways it's like Pikachu. It's shown on two legs all the time and can walk on two legs just fine, but most of the time when it needs to get somewhere fast it drops to all fours.

It can do so, but the title is overstating. It is firstly portrayed as Quilava raising on two legs, not as four-legged like Quilava. Still, they might not have felt tha it would be so exciting to have a fully-evolved norml hedgehog.

I feel that it was more of a bear type thing. Bears can walk on their hind legs should they choose, but they don't always do so. It is strange though, that Grass Types have wither four legs or no legs though ohoho! It might be refreshing to see another Quadruped in the new games though. I suppose some people thought that we never had a four-legged Fire type starter Pokémon before I guess.

They say that Typhlosion is based upon the Honey Badger, so...

I agree Quadrupedal starters are a rarity. (Pikachu could count because it can run on fours.) I want to see that change, although Typhlosion is the only pure Fire type in the series. Charizard is part Flying, Blaziken, Infernape and Emboar is part Fighting, Delphox is part Psychic and Inciniroar is part Dark.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of pokemon who are exclusively quadrupedal; that's possibly a reason for why I've liked most fire starters a lot! As such, Typhlosion is totes ok in my book, since it can be both c:

Was kind of expecting the Tepig line to become quadrupedal though.

they had the PERFECT opportunity with incineroar and they blew it! nah, i do like incineroar's design but I really would have preferred to see a proper quadruped fire starter that doesn't stand on two feet during battle.

I kinda like Icineroar's desing, I mean I don't hate it as before eh. But I would have like to see him like Tylphlosion, sometime on 4 paws and sometimes on 2. Like he could get up to attack. But no.

Typhlosion always felt like the odd one out among Fire-type starters, it's the only one shown to be able to run on all fours and it's the only one to have not been dual-typed. I know people were hoping Litten's final evolution would stay a quadruped but I'm not overly disappointed with how Incineroar turned out.

Maybe Gen 8 will be our first generation where we finally get a fully quadrupedal Fire starter, but we can only dream for now.
