Vaporeon: wish vs aqua ring?

    Hi, I'm totally new to battling and am trying to setup my first team. I've been working on a vaporeon.

    So far it has:

    surf
    aurora beam
    wish
    and I was planning on picking up haze when it gets to that level

    What I'm wondering is, should I get aqua ring (instead of wish perhaps?)?


    I was thinking of using the vaporeon along with a togekiss and a flygon as the other members of the team. Insights welcomed.

    Wish over Aqua Ring anyday. Aqua Ring is just bascially leftovers in move form. If your Pokemon is down to 20 HP and Aqua Ring gives you well lets say 12 HP does it really matter? The opposing Pokemon would knock you out. Wish on the other hand is a delayed Recover. You can restore huge chunks of your HP.

    Oh also, regarding EVs, is it worth it to give vaporeon speed EVs? or should I sink it all into defenses/HP or perhaps sATK?
     
    You should sink a bulk of the EVs in her HP then anything else in her Defense or Special Defense. Substitute also works well with Vaporeons massive HP.

    I saw some movesets where vaporeon had aqua ring and it made me worry I was making a bad choice with wish. But maybe they just didn't want to take the time to breed wish over.
     
    Isn't Aqua Ring the same thing as Ingrain, but Water type?
