Unfortunate crit when trying to capture Pokemon

Does anyone had this experience when you start a new game, there are Pokemon with low encounter rate. You calculated your damage that 1 hit would make their hp low, but then you lucky crit and one shot them, then you have to go for another......50 encounters to try to encounter the same Pokemon :(. There was even once where I encountered a shiny Pokemon and crit to one shot it, it was near the beginning so I didn't have skills such as false swipe yet.

    rip raikou, articuno, mesprit, azelf

This happens a lot to me, honestly. Always with roaming Pokemon - I hit them with a strong move from my rather underlevelled Pokemon to bring them down to low health, and I end up KOing them via critical hit. I then spam the on/off on my DS/Game Boy or spam Ctrl + R on my emulator until I don't end up hitting them too hard. Crits are a curse to me :/

This has definitely happened to me during plenty of battles against legendaries x_x (I've been fortunate enough to not land any against shinies.) I'll try to get their HP down so that it's red using a move that I know wouldn't outright KO them only for said move to land a crit. and KO them. Ironically, I never get crits. when I need them XD

One of the Regi legendaries was a pain in the neck for me to catch. Fifty random Pokeballs later it ran out of moves, used Struggle and just committed suicide right in front of me. Immediate soft reset. :I

Regarding critical hits, last time something bad had happened to me was when trying to capture shiny Litleo in Pokémon Y. I've only had one Poké Ball with me at the time, and didn't want it to be wasted, so I had to damage that Pokémon a bit before throwing it over. My first hit had taken away about one-fourth of its health, but my second attack, unfortunately, wound up critical, and made Litleo faint. Wish I hadn't struck it second time, but oh well; what's done is done. I was able to encounter another of these shiny Litleo later on throughout the game, though, and have successfully captured it.

Critical hits are a bad thing when you are trying to catch something because the chance is random. I've seen myself crit a lot of low encounter rate pokemon, knock them out, and throw myself into a rage because of it. Thankfully it hasn't been shinies, it could have been a whole lot worse.

Fortunately, I've never inflicted a critical hit on a Shiny Pokemon, although I've only found one in the wild, so that's not much of a feat, haha. However, I have accidentally made several legendaries faint, which is why I save before every encounter with one. Those battles are always unpredictable, so it's good to be able to reset. Most annoying time was when I worked meticulously to get Dialga's HP low enough, probably spent at least half an hour on it, in fact, knew I could hit it once more safely, and of course, get the critical hit and knock it out. :[

I've had this happen way too many times. I don't even trust myself when I find a shiny, I'll try to catch them at full HP.
I have a fearow trained just for catching pokemon though, with false swipe. The only things that ruin that plan are attacks that hurt themselves.
