Okay, I thought about which pokemon would be best for wearing down other pokemon for you to catch? Any pokemon with False Swipe is good, but even better is False Swipe and a status inflicter that isn't Poison or Burn. Plus Mean Look for REALLY annoying pokemon who run away (you know, Latias, Latios, and the Legendary Dogs)

    #1 Smeargle

    -False Swipe
    -Spore
-Mean Look (For Latias and Latios, and for Legendary Dogs etc...)
-Baton Pass (For mean look in case Smeargle is about to faint)/Dragon Rage (For Ghosts)/T-wave (For Insomania and Vital Spirit)
Only downside is smeargle's fairly weak, even at lvl 100, so you might need a few of them. Ubers will kill him if your not careful...

    #2 Shedinja

    -False Swipe
    -Protect/Sub/Double Team???
    -???
    -???
No status move (except toxic, but that would kill the pokemon), no Mean Look. He?s only good for nice long battles with legendaries so all their attacks will have no effect. Especially good if you drag the battle on so long they have to use Struggle?

    #3 Breloom

    -Spore
    -False Swipe
    -???
    -???
Can put pokemon to sleep and False Swipes. Double weakness to flying.

    #4 Parasect

    -Spore
    -False Swipe
    -???
    -???
Same as Breloom, just double weakness to fire.

    #5 Gengar

    -Mean Look
    -Hypnosis
    -Seismic Toss
    -???
You?ll have to do without False Swipe, and just attack with other moves. I might suggest moves which cannot score critical hits, like Seismic Toss, so you do not accidentally knock-out a pokemon because of a critical hit. He's good for when those ubar's use struggle, and you can keep dragging on the battle.

    #6 Ariados

    -Spider Web
    -Baton Pass
    -Sonicboom?
    -Sub/Protect?

Pass to either a Breloom or Parasect, or anyone else. Good for Latias, Latios, Legendary Dogs?

    #7 Umbreon

    -Mean Look
    -Baton Pass
    -???
    -???

    Just like Ariados.

    #8 Wobbuffet

    Trait: Shadow Tag
    -Counter
    -Mirror Coat
    -Safeguard/Charm
    -Encore

Somewhat risky, be careful with this. Use for Legendary Dogs and Lati@s. Easy to get, no breeding for moves :)

Did I miss anything good? Any suggestions?

They look pretty good to me I would just fill in them ??? with strong attacks like solor beam, flamethougher, Hydro Pump, ect. But yeah them are some good ideas... It'd work for me catching latias.

    Thanks,

Why? I mean if you ran out of your other attacks, you'd just kill your opponent's pokemon. These pokemon are not meant to be useful in battle. In fact I'd say teach your pokemon something like Flash or Stat Heightening or Lowering attack, for pokemon with recovery moves, especially w/ speed, in-case they wake up and are faster, plus if they have torment...
Those move REALLY don't matter. If you want to fill in strong moves go ahead but it really wouldn't help.

I'm surprised you didn't include the most obvious one:

    Wobbuffet
    Trait: Shadow Tag
    Counter
    Mirror Coat
    Safeguard/Charm
    Encore

Wobbuffet's Shadow Tag prevents things from running away, which is a great help in catching things like Lati@s and the legendary dogs. Use Encore to make them use an attack, and Counter/Mirror Coat if you think it won't KO them. Safeguard to protect against any status they might throw, or Charm to lower their attack and making Countering safer. Encore also allows you to switch to something else which can take down the opponent safer, like something with False Swipe.

Eh, yeah I forgot about Wobby. Only thing is though he's very risky, plus he really doesn't have a status afflicting attack or anything. He'd be very easy to raise, as just catch one, no breeding. Only good for Lati@s and Legendary Dogs. I don't think he'd be very obvious, just easy to get, there are some less risky options...

Scyther is a very good choice from that list.I just want to know if there's a move he can learn to Paralyze a Pokemon.

This is more generalised than RSE, since it includes Pokemon like Parasect and Gengar. I'll happily move it for you to General Games, where it would be better suited. ^_^

    Moving on up...

I'm currently thinking of using an Electric Pokemon to get some of the Legendaries in R/S, but I don't know of one that'll work. Any ideas?
