The Trophy Garden is an area in D/P/PT that has different Pokemon appear daily, after you beat the main story & get the National Pokedex. This garden is also the only place you can capture Pikachu, and many baby Pokemon, such as Cleffa, Igglybuff, Azurill, and Happiny. However, you need to talk to Mr. Backlot to know what special Pokemon may be back there. It's not reset daily, though, technically.
Also, speaking of which, in the Backlot mansion, this is the ONLY way to get Manaphy seen in the Pokedex if you don't have Pokemon Ranger. (Platinum only) You can also touch the statue that the police man is guarding between 2am and 6am, although it doesn't do anything.
Did you take advantage of the Trophy Garden? And did you touch the statue the policeman guards?
I find the Trophy Garden interesting, since the Pokemon that appears there is literally a word of mouth style system. I also did touch the statue, yup. It's fun, even though it's pretty pointless to do it. It just says "you got fingerprints on the statue", and that's it.
