ok. I spent all day yesterday breeding three special pokemon to trade over to my "new" emerald game. (Eevee w/ wish, oddish w/ synthesis, and nicada w/ silver wind - so I can evolve him into shedinja) But I've hit a block. When I try to trade the eggs from sapphire to emerald, a message appears stating "the other trainer's pokemon cannot be traded now" on the sapphire cartridge. At first, I though it was because I hadn't gotten my first badge in Emerald. So after I got it, I tried again. Same thing. Does anyone know what's going on?

I tried trading a magby, but that didn't work either

I'm going to be so p***ed if I can't get those eggs!

I read on a forum awhile back that emerald could recognize if another cartridge had used a gameshark. I used rare candies on the parents. Do you think it's not letting me trade because of that?

You can't trade eggs in the gba games, but also you might need the national dex in emerald if u are trading pokemon that can't be seen in emerald from sapphire...

Actually you need the National Dex in both games in order to trade eggs. Because it's an egg, it could be ANY Pokemon in there, even one that isn't in your regional dex, and that would be baaaaad (at least the game thinks so). So unfortunately, you'll have to wait until you've beaten the game and try again. :(

My friend have traded a LOT of eggs to me, i was about to restart my game, and didn't wanted to lose all of my Lvl 100's, so he took a lot of random eggs from his PC and traded over...
But that was Ruby -> Leaf Green. And in Emerald you can TRADE from that you get the Pokedex, and you get National Dex after owning the E4 with 60+ Pokemon Caught.

there is no national dex in sapphire... :p

I think you can get RS NationalDex by trading with Collosseum/XD or by catching all 200 in the RegionalDex.
In FR/LG/E you get it by catching 60 Pokemon and beating the League

A lot of bad information here. You CAN trade eggs from Emerald to RS and to FRLG. I know because I have done it more times than I care to spend time counting. It does require that in FRLG and Emerald that you have the National Pokedex. In RS you don't even need it. What I have done countless times is breed for certain Pokemon to start a RS game with, but I don't actually hatch the eggs in Emerald. I walk with them until they are ready to hatch. I then run through the beginning of the RS game until I am able to trade (Oldale Town) and then trade the eggs for a team of Zigzagoon and the original starter (typically Treecko because I ALWAYS use Mudkip and it will have an easy time against the craptastic Fire starter that May will use). I then walk the necessary amount of steps (typically under 30) until my eggs hatch.

o.o I trade eggs all the time!

*nods* the only games which you can trade pokemon without a national dex is Ruby,Sapphire,Diamond, and Pearl.

You can only get the national dex if someone trades a non-hoenn pokemon to you(and you won't get it if you catch a charmander from the wild with a code or anything like that{I've tested that myself}but that's not important).

I should have been clearer; by "both games" I meant FR and LG.
But anyways, well, there you go. :)

I know that this is COMPLETELY off topic, but I haven't seen you in a while. If you don't remember me, then does the pokemon Pidgeot and Dodrio ring a bell?

(Now on topic)You also have to have the Ruby and Sapphire.

    LOL

Yes Night, or should I say Char-Char?, I definitely remember you. Glad to see you still around and giving out pretty good advice now too. I hope your brother is well.

    Yes. . .Char-Char. . .
I lost interest in playing pokemon Firered when, after transfering my mews, and my charizards, and my mewtwo, and my groudon, and all my other good pokemon over there, I lost my Emerald version)=
Well anyways, I never did get that Dodrio that we kept arguing about, but I hardly ever played with my Pidgeot anymore.
And yes, by brother's doing well. He's not interested in pokemon anymore{except for Pikachu}, but that's because they won't remake the Johto region games.

... maybe you should keep private discussions on PM?
    We're done. Sorry about that.

Oh I know; I was simply explaining how trading between FR/LG and R/S worked and when I said "both games" I was referring to my explanation of FR/LG and..

oh this is too confusing to explain. Nevermind. XD
