Tobias vs

Shinji probably same as Satoshi and Shirona into half of his team or so... so probably 3 or 4 legendaries.

Yeah, that's considering Tobias has got more legendaries in his pocket. The guy's insane. Paul might get beat after the fourth one, though fifth would push it too far.
 
Well if Ash defeated Paul and only got to Latios...then I'd expect Paul to maybe defeat Darkrai or most likely get sweeped altogether.
 
Cynthia still the champion which mean she have beaten Tobias !!!
If Tobias didn't compete in ''Champion League'' then why he compete in Sinnoh League .
After all , Trainers from Champion League would be far greater challenge then some normal trainer from sinnoh League .
 
I wonder if someone wants to do a little analysis of Paul vs Tobias in terms of Pokémon types, moves, and battle strategy. That's be a neat way to see how they compare. I mean I'd do it but I haven't actually seen Tobias in action oops.
 
I feel that Tobias was just a persona created solely to prevent Ash from winning the league so that the series can be continued. I don't like anything about Tobias - zero character development, zero importance anywhere else... this guy with heap of legendaries just came about like a meteor with no background whatsoever. It's just my opinion, though.
 
That's fine, I agree with you that he really only served that purpose. But what we're wondering in this thread is how would others fare against him? Taking into account how well he did in the league, how well Ash did against him, and the challenger's battle style, how well would they fare against this deus ex machina in a fair battle?
 
Even though the legendaries are powerful, I've yet to really see what kind of strategy Tobias employs against tougher trainers other than just using sheer power of the legendaries.

It's something to ponder over, that's for sure, but I can't really deduce what kind of results he'll get against more established trainers. Obviously he'll win against Paul, but against the likes of Cynthia, I doubt he can plow through her Pokemon the same way he does to other trainers. That's my two cents.

Well... that would be kinda hard as Takuto only used 2 Pokemon (Darkrai and Latios) throughout his episodes...
We can pretty much presume he has Entei and other legendaries but without the whole team, analysis would be hard to do =)

Pretty much this... But let's look at it differently... for the first and last time, Satoshi did not lose to a rival he knows for more than one episode =)

It's exactly why I said it's just something to ponder over and nothing more at that, as he didn't need to use strategy other than using dark void and sweeping with sheer power.

It was such a huge cop-out it's disappointing. As I said, zero character development and zero importance outside the purpose of beating Ash and winning the league makes it difficult to like him.
 
Like I said , Trobias probably lose to Cynthia or another elite 4 !
Ash already proven that Legendary Pokemon can be beaten by ordinary Pokemon.
Plus , Trobias admitted that Gible's ''Draco Meteor'' can beat anybody accept Darkrai then Cynthia has a Garchamp.

However I prefer Ash to lose the league to another Trobias over another idiot Cameron.
At least , Trobias had Legendary Pokemon as excuse .

Arcanine & gygrados consider to be legendary too but they aren't Legendary , Aren't they ?
People even considered Dragonite to be Legendary But its only Pseudo Legendary .
To think Writer handed a Free Dragonite on Iris's hand just because she's the prodigy from Dragon village who can connect with dragon Pokemon But They wont gave Ash a Lucario even after Ash can connect with Aura Pokemon
Anyway , Cameron's Lucario is no excuse!!!
Lucario may be rare and process special ability of Aura But its not Legendary Pokemon like Darkrai or Latius .
Its isn't justified that Cameron beating ash with one less Pokemon just because he has Lucario.

That's another end of the spectrum. Why not just go out to a rival with a reasonably similar skill level? Harrison was okay.

BW was a joke and I didn't even pay attention to any of it, but that's just my opinion.
