I am using RPG Maker xp 1.02. When I downloaded Essentials 16 and 16.1 I get the following error message?

This project is from an older version of RPG Maker and cannot be loaded

What is the fix for this or is it to just get the new version from the website? Or what is the latest version of essentials that will be compatible with Maker xp 1.02?

Thank you, also if this has already been answered just direct me to thread

Hey, just a little heads up :) I'd reccommend to not use the terms "cracked" or "I downloaded" on the forums as those point to illegal activity and can cause you issues (not sure it will, but you know, better safe than sorry).

Also, what i've done whenever i experience that issue is this:

    - Go to the Pokemon Essentials folder.
    - Right click your game file (Game.rxproj) and it will give you the option "Open with", choose notepad.
    - then you'll see the only thing written is something like "RPGXP 1.04" or whatever version the file was made in, it could change.
    - Change that last number for the number 2, so it will be "RPGXP 1.02", click save, close the file, and try opening up the game again.
    - The game should now open without issues.

That has always worked for me. Maybe it will for you. :)

That worked and thanks for the heads up. I will be more mindful
