Well, today, I acquired the Pokerus on the way back home from school on the bus. I was like "awesome!".

The only way I could tell I got it was then the nurse (forgot her name) told me that I acquired it. However, how can I tell which pokemon have it, and how can you spread it? A "pkrs" sign or something I think is supposed to show it, but I can't find it.

yeah i got that message a couple times but no pkrs after i got it again the message said you may have acquired pkrs so i think she was wrong cause none of my pkmns had pkrs... so i think she just randomly says it... yeah dont ask me why either

note they sometimes say that too late....it ur first poke that has pokerus is cured it still gets the double ev's, but can't spread it...it will have a purple pkrs symbol if its spreadable and a smilie face if its not, pkrs expires once the infected poke is in ur party for over 24 hours, if its in the PC pkrs doesn't spread and doesn't go away..

But here's the thing... There's no sign showing that I have it, or if it's spread by already. It just looks normal.

I did have a Duskull in a trade that was already infected with it and passed by, but that was before this.

When you do a summary of your pokemon, there will either be a PKRS sign in purple above your guy or a :l sign to the right of it. The PKRS sign means it can spread, the :l sign means it's been cured.

Where status afflictions usually are in the Summary screen, you'll see the PKRS symbol if one of your Pokémon does indeed have it desu~ And like mentioned, there will be a ('_') face once the disease has passed, meaning that that particular Pokémon cant have the Pokérus again. The disease only lasts for 2-3 days (forgot the exact time) and putting the infected Pokémon will keep the disease alive, but it wont spread. (I should probably stop referring to it as a disease desu~ Even though it is one, its not at all a bad thing >_<)

In order for it to spread, keep the infected Pokémon in your party. Whenever you battle (with any Pokémon) there's a fairly common chance that after the battle, another Pokémon in your party will also become infected.

If what you said in your recent post was true, thats probably the nurse's late response (I suppose you havent been to a Pokémon Center for a while after you got the infected Duskull?) in which the disease has already passed.

BUT it never hurts to double-check. Check all the Pokémon you own (in party and in PC) to check if any of them have it.

If it remains unchanged from the 3rd generation, I believe theres a 1 in 32768 chance of getting one of your Pokémon infected in any wild battle. In other words, a 0.003% chance! o_0

It's actually 0.0016%. I guess it was a late response with Duskull if at all.

Ah well, I thought I had something going with it, but I don't need pkrs. It's just there... Anyway, I thank those who replied.

^ Me dun see anything helpful about pokerus in the FAQ.. It just explains the :| thing.

How to diagnose? Well, if you talk to nurse joy with a pokerus infected critter in your party, she'll start to talk about it. You can also look at the status screen to see the purple PKRS box as long as the pokemon is not burned, etc.

How to spread? Put the pokerus infected pokemon and a non infected pokemon next to each other in your party. Go in any battle, run away, and then check the non infected to see if it caught PKRS. It usually takes 1-3 times for it to catch it after a battle. If you have a ":|" pokemon in between an infected and non infected, it will not spread. The PKRS may turn to a :| (non spreadable) when it hits midnight in your game. It does not matter how many hours you play, if you just deposit them before midnight, they'll have it forever (mine still lasts from April to this day lol). And yeah, it's way rarer than a shiny. Hope this helped.
