The Pokemon Game

It's been a while since I've cooked up a game, but I've recently thought up one I think you guys will enjoy! The rules are as follows:

1. Take the number above and find which Pokemon it corresponds to in the National Dex (ie 0001 is Bulbasaur, 0200 is Misdreavus, etc)

2. Write a minimum of 200 characters about the Pokemon, this can be about what you think of that Pokemon, personal experiences with it, anything you want as long as it's related to the Pokemon (regional/alternate forms can also be discussed if desired).

3. Generate a number between 1 and 1025 using this website, putting the number below for the next user.

The first number is: 432!

No. 432: Purugly; The Tiger Cat Pokémon

To me, Purugly is opposite to what it looks. A big fat cat, who looks sluggish turns out to be the 4th fastest non-legendary Pokémon in Sinnoh !!

And similar to above point, it does made me to believe that it will be a bulky Pokémon due to it's look, when I first came across it.

Not unusable per say, because it had got access to some decent moves, but the low bulk is something that keeps it from doing great.

Should I say that it lives up to the name Pur-ugly ?

Now, the number generator gives the number 875

Eiscue

I've actually found 2 shiny full odds of these guys in violet lol.

52

also, I'll ping @Megan because this thread is pokemon related and therefore should go in the pokemon trivia section.^^"

Meowth; The original cat Pokemon that received two regional forms. Neither of which is better than the original. The Galarian form has a regional evo which is just a slightly taller Meowth. The Alolan form's evo looks like it's choking on a watermelon.

Why between 1 and 1008 though... there's 1025 Pokemon =3

Appletun; honestly a pretty creative design. It evokes Bulbasaur without being an outright clone and its Scarlet dex entry stating how it lures in bug Pokemon using the nectar it produces is a clever way to tie it with its food-based origins.

Oh, whoops, that's my bad; guess I forgot that the DLC added Pokemon in too. I'll edit the original post.

#875: Eiscue, the Penguin Pokemon.

Never used it, as a Sword and Scarlet player. Wonders if it can excel. Blocks physical attacks pretty well with its ability and Hail/Snow up. Locked its best move (Belly Drum) behind egg moves, unfortunately, making it tough to use in a restricted playthrough setting. Should have tried using it versus one of the physical 7-star Tera Raids. Oh well. Could build up Iron Defense/Amnesia against the right opponent and stall with Rocky Helmet. Serves as a decent physical debuff lead too, with Feather Dance (in Scarlet/Violet) and Reflect.

Wishes for a little bit more design on the body. Looks too much like a normal penguin (below the head, obviously). Added some small, light blue triangles on the body. Prefers those to be bigger, perhaps reaching across the entire belly.

No. 408: Cranidos; Head Butt Pokemon

Definitely looks like the hatchling of Dinosaur from the looks, and already possesses attack of 125, though has very poor bulk and speed. Mold Breaker makes sure that the move is not stopped by any abilities whatsoever, making it a good attacking option. But as said, the poor bulk is issue. If it would have blessed with higher speed, then one could have used Rampardos as Choice Scarf or Choice Band attacker to get hyper-offense.

I had used Rampardos in Platinum, but using it as Cranidos was tough, but not impossible. Under right matchups, Cranidos was able to KO or almost KO most opponents, which was better than few of the other high level Pokemon in the team back then.

It would have been amazing if there would have been higher speed to make it use as a Physical Wallbreaker....

Next number is 329 !!

Vibrava. I remember that when I first played RS I saw either Vibrava or Flygon on some NPC's team and then checking the PokeDex to see what it evolved from... and then going back to catch a Trapinch which I had previously ignored

Alcremie! What an adorable Pokemon! The evolution method for it isn't exactly the most fun to have to do constantly like you'll have to do to get every single pattern like I did. And then you have to factor in all of the different toppings you can use to change it's eye color as well, which can be an even bigger headache... >.> Anyway, I still have an unevolved shiny Milcery in Violet that I haven't decided what topping I want to use on it yet. That's how crazy Alcremie styling can be! :p

#0336: Seviper, the Fang Snake Pokemon.

Never used it. Blames half of that on availability, and half on not looking that strong. Rarely finds an opportunity to take advantage of mixed attackers. Essentially drags it down into Sunflora-level stats. Demands extra experience to level towards the end too. (Will be level 50 on the roughly same experience as a level 53 Venusaur. Widens the gap at higher levels, to level 88.5 when Venusaur hits 100.) Learns some handy non-attacking moves by level-up, on the plus side: Haze, Gastro Acid, Glare, and Coil.

Mentions one other interesting part to this Pokemon: the Zangoose rivalry. Talks about it in Generation 3. Only really came alive in Generation 6 with Horde battles. Occasionally appears together. Will attack each other, if able. Gave the Pokemon (and the Horde battle mechanic) some good character.

Fennekin
Best Fire starter ever, period :sneaky:
It's also the starter I always pick in Kalos. I've literally never picked Froakie or Chespin in a Kalos playthrough xD

I caught the Tera Raid Delphox in SV in a Dream Ball intending to shiny breed it, but never got around to it... definitely a mon who's shiny I want though.

#901: Ursaluna, the Peat Pokemon.

Only ever used this Pokemon to beat up Tera Raid Blisseys, thanks to Belly Drum. Considers the normal form alright. Views the Bloodmoon form as a little worse, but not terrible. Thinks of them as belonging to two separate lines. Connects Teddiursa to the normal form and Ursaring to the Bloodmoon form.

Appears to be an incredible Pokemon. Respects Conkeldurr as-is. Now take that and improve or copy every stat (except Special Attack). Sees a pretty ridiculous amount of coverage for the normal form too: Play Rough (by level-up), the elemental punches, the new Supercell Slam, Drain Punch, Stone Edge, Throat Chop, Gunk Shot, Seed Bomb, Shadow Claw, and Aerial Ace. Picks up all the good boosting moves (that do not increase Speed).

Wishes you could evolve it in Scarlet/Violet. Feels like an oversight, especially with Bloodmoon Ursaluna being featured in its own mini-story.

Carbink.

Ah yes... never used this Pokemon. Still wish it would evolve into Diancie. Could make the evo item an event distribution if it has to stay a mythical.
Seems like a very good Body Press user, especially with a Fighting Tera in gen 9 to make it STAB. Probably struggles to do anything else, sadly. Gets Heavy Slam for example, but only weighs 5.7 KG. Not gonna be able to make good use of that.

322 is Numel

Not the most appealing Pokemon that exists, but it has a decent evolution. Its shiny colors aren't particularly great either, but I have wanted to hunt one for a while, since its evo's shiny colors are quite stand-out. It's unfortunate that Numel isn't in SW/SH, but at least its in S/V.

Wigglytuff.

Not a mon I'm particularly fond of but the shiny one on my Normal types team in AS is doing pretty good. I keep thinking it's the only Normal/Fairy type line, until I eventually remember Azurill, which loses Normal upon evolving. It's shiny is actually kinda nice. Much better than Jigglypuff's shiny which is very easy to miss if you don't know to keep an eye on it's eyes as they are the only clearly visible change in color.
