[PokeCommunity.com] The New and Improved ShinyCount+, Now Fully Released!

    ShinyCount+

So I started working on a complete rebuild of my old shiny hunting counter (here) all the way back in October with the goal of making a far nicer user interface and including more features that I thought other shiny hunters would truly want in a counter program. After spending a lot of time learning how to create better UI and gaining more programming experience in general, I think I've finally gotten the new and improved ShinyCount+ to a state where I want to release it for everyone to use, or at least try it out and leave feedback.

    Features

    Screenshots:
    Spoiler:

    • Click or use up/down arrow keys to increase/decrease the counter
    • Select and display current target Pokemon
    • Select and display current hunting method and odds
    • Odds dynamically update for chain/encounter-based methods
    • Set custom counter interval (great for multi-system hunts)
    • Set custom encounter value for picking up previous hunts
    • Set window opacity (nice for multitasking)
    • Choose from four accent color options (more to come)
    • Currently working on some quality of life options like setting the counter to a custom value for picking up past hunts
    • May add Discord Rich Presence support at some point

    Download the counter

Download the latest version here: https://github.com/Syntthetix/ShinyCountPlus/releases
    • Requires Windows 7 or later and .NET 4.8 (sorry Mac/Linux users, Wine might be able to get around this)
    • Download setup.exe from the github releases page (no other files are necessary, they're only for handling auto-updates)
    • Run setup.exe and the program will be installed and launch automatically
    • You may get a Windows Defender false positive saying the file is unsafe/untrustworthy, this is only because I don't have the money to get the program signed/verified, so Windows is unsure of its safety by default.

Feel free to leave feedback or feature suggestions either as a comment here or as an issue/discussion on the GitHub page. If you're interested in adding a feature of your own, pull requests are always welcome as well.
Finally, thank you to anyone who downloads this, it was amazing to see 1000+ people download the older, crappier version of this, so I'm looking forward to seeing how many people find some value in this one too.

Full installation, auto updating, and automatic font handling are now fully implemented! From v1.1.3 onward, the program will be installed in Windows, and updates will be downloaded automatically in the background when the program is launched, then applied on the next launch.
