2nd Gen The Mystery Egg

At the very beginning of the game, Mr. Pokemon raves about this egg that you have to give to Professor Elm. Later, in Violet City, after beating the Gym Leader, he gives it back to you. In HG/SS, if you bring the Togepi to him while it's first in your party, he'll make a comment abt it, otherwise he'll just keep asking you about whether or not the egg hatched yet.

What did you think of the whole Mystery Egg plot? Did you hatch said "mystery egg" and use the Togepi that hatched from it?

i think the whole mystery egg thing was just some "plot" to introduce the egg mechanic, right? its fine, I guess. it would probably be more intriguing if you're a first time player. togepi is cute but not really the battling kind of pokemon. never really used 'em :(

I think Togepi was a fantastic idea for HGSS, Togekiss is very powerful. Gold and Silver did it wrong though, because Togetic alone was not really worth your time.

Regarding the plot, if I had control over it, I would have extended Mr. Pokemon's comments to each evolution. But that would be about it.

Togepi prove that Pokémon can hatch from eggs. I like the breeding as well.

I hatched it then boxed it never really had much use for it, granted I like the look of Togekiss shame it wasn't around in gen 2 otherwise I would of used it

The egg didn't play much of a role in the storyline of the G/S/C games unlike it did in the remakes. I love freebies though, so I was glad that we got the egg for free.
