Talking Pokemon

Besides Team Rocket's Meowth, very few Pokemon can speak human in the anime. The only others I can think of besides him are Slowking and Chatot. Most Pokemon seen "talking" use telepathy, which isn't really talking.... I'd like to know if you guys want to see more talking Pokemon in the future, and NOT through telepathy. Do you believe it'll happen? And if you wanna, what Pokemon would you like to see speaking human language in the anime?

Both of Hoopa forms were talking in Movie 18 and it it definitely wasn't telepathy. Lucario, on the other hand, was talking through telepathy in movie 8. But the Pokémon I want to see learn talking is Ash's Pikachu. Just imagine how hilarious that would be. And Pikachu and Meowth debates would've get a whole new dimension too {XD}

Well you might just be in luck with an upcoming episode of the anime...

I've seen talking Lucario, now I need talking Lopunny.

That was telepathy. Same with Zorua back in the Zorua movie. As for Hoopa, definitely talking, but I meant non legendary Pokemon! Not legendary ones, aha.

I agree with talking Pikachu, that'd be really funny... in fact, I can picture it, going something like this:

Pikachu: "Ash, Ash, I can talk now, Pika!"

...Or something like that.

Honestly, I'd like to see a Ghost Pokemon talk and it not be through Meowth, since Ghost types are supposedly spirits/undead Pokemon. I'd love to see a Phantump talk, that'd be a fun anime episode!

I'd like to see an episode similar to Island of Giant Pokemon where Ash's Pokemon get separated, but they actually talk to each other like in Mystery Dungeon instead of with subtitles.

Oh, I forgot it was telepathy, this movie is pretty old.
Also there was an episode with Gastly that took human form and could talk, but I'm not sure if it's telepathy or not.

After you mentioned it, I had to rewatch The Ghost of Maiden's Peak and it is quite clear that Ghastly speaks through his mouth, not telepathy. It is true his voice has echo, similar to telepathy (in both English and Japanese), but he's opening his mouth, so I think it's quite safe to say he was actually talking.

No talking Pokemon please, it's so stupid.
The telepathy thing is a lame excuse to let legendry Pokemon talk, and it's more than enough.

Wait, why do you think it's stupid? Do you have any reason you find it "lame" or "stupid"?

Also, something I want to bring up is that Pokemon can obviously understand human language enough, but pronouncing the words is hard on its own. I do want Pokemon to revisit this idea, or show another bird Pokemon talking. Chatot can only talk because its a Parrot type Pokemon, and parrots can talk via copying humans in the real world.

As for another Mystery Dungeon like idea, I'd love to see this, too, the Pokemon speaking and understand eachother, without it being Poke-speak. Maybe someday, in the future.

The telepathy thing is fine with me, but it's getting to be used too much recently, especially in the movies.

Which is why I'm glad Hoopa spoke with his/her mouth instead of telepathy.

There was an episode in X and Y where a group of Pikachus in different outfits including Cosplay and new Detective one(?) and they were talking in normal human speak. I thought it was stupid but it exists.

That was a movie. Ash and co were voice acting for the Pikachu. They weren't really talking. This was done before, if you remember from a Kanto episode where people were voice acting for their Pokemon in movies, but no, those Pikachu were not actually talking.

Ah, thought it was some kind of episode because I saw a clip of it (It had a million views for some reason).

Sorry if this makes me feel like a jerk, but that even then I had it explained, I still think it was rather cringey.

Yes, all those Pikachu had human voice-overs done for the movie Ash & Co. worked on with that director. There even was funny breaking of fourth wall in that episode, when they showed woman looking like (and being voiced by, in original) Ikue Ohtani, working on voice-overs for that movie. I actually liked that idea.

I actually would have preferred the cries from the games into the anime.

I actually like it more that they don't really talk, it gives the Pokémon a different charm, talking monsters is something vulgar. I also didn't liked that Pikachu says it's own name in X and Y.
