disclaimer: I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, it's just something I've always thought about!!!

Does anyone else think that it's a bit of a coincidence that Dexio and Sina always seem to show up whenever you deal with Team Flare? I always had this sneaky suspicion where I think they seem pretty, well, suspicious. This seems a little out there I will admit, but I have a few reasons for this idea! They're always majorly late when showing up to 'help' you. I mean sure this can just be them being very incompetent side kicks but it's every single time, even Pinky was more helpful to Brain! They also are Sycamore's assistants - Sycamore seems to have a very close relationship with Lysnadre. Maybe Sycamore is in cahoots with the red headed madman or maybe he has planted two spies with the Pokémon professor to keep an eye on him. Thirdly, and again, this is a bit of a stretch: they both hold style in high regard, which is something held above all with Team Flare!

[PokeCommunity.com] Sycamore's Aides: Dexio and Sina

Dexio and Sina as Flare members?

I've put this across in a truly awful way but I've just always wanted to know other peoples thoughts! I mean imagine the twist when you're in Flare's HQ and they come into the room to you and REVEAL THEY'RE DAMN WELL FLARE MEMBERS!!! Even if they're not higher-ups and just grunts or whatever; it would've been a cool swerve in what was a very bland story and would've given us someone relevant to battle rather than nameless "admins" lol.

This is one of the many unexplained things in X/Y that I wish they would've explained, and likely never will (though I suppose there is one last shred of hope in their Sun/Moon appearance). Why are they (apparently) trying to be superheroes? Does Sycamore know anything about this?....Why did they not try harder to disguise themselves?

I uh... I'm ashamed to admit, but I have absolutely no recollection of these two at all. I remember the 5 Pieces of Flare and what not, but I don't think they were memorable enough to actually matter. I didn't even remember he had assistants until I read this thread. It did seem like everyone was after the fashion though, in a sense.

The only two people in the game that seemed out of touch were Wikstrom and Tierno. The only guy that walks around in a suit of armour (so the French had legionnaires, but that was many moons ago) and Tierno touts those awful shorts and that T-shirt with a Vanillite on the front. Come on guy, at least try and hide that you eat a lot.

Hahaha, clearly I've just overthought this way too much!

Nobody even remembers the characters, let alone thinks that they should've been undercover Flare members! I just think it would've been a cool twist to make the games a little darker - especially if Sycamore was in on it himself.

You're not overthinking it at all. Before XY were released, they didn't show Lysandre. So a decent number of people (myself included) believed Sycamore would turn out to be the leader of Team Flare due to being a... particularly fashionable professor. And look at his socks. Seriously, look at them. His color scheme consists of whites and purples, and then his socks are orange. Oh, Team Flare's color of choice is orange, you say? Ahh, I see...

And Sycamore was definitely way too oblivious to Lysandre's overall evilness... And now that you mention it, that all-white outfit Dexio and Sina have going on is really reminiscent of the Team Flare Admins' white attire.

I hadn't realized Dexio and Sina showed up "fashionably late" every time Team Flare was afoot; I had assumed, after discovering Sycamore "had nothing to do with Team Flare," that maybe Sycamore really was just that oblivious, and Dexio and Sina existed as a way to... like, "keep Sycamore involved in the plot" without having to actually make him... leave his lab and actually show up.

But truth be told, I've always thought that Sycamore not being a member of Team Flare was a huge, huge missed opportunity on the writers' part, so I'm all for believing that Dexio and Sina's white outfits and inability to show up at the exact time as Team Flare means something. If only these things could be given some more depth and clarification in the future...

Sycamore being Flare's leader was something I thought would be pretty cool. He's an awesome professor could have made a pretty surprising but even better villain.

Dexio and Sina being evil is an interesting idea. It's probably not the case, but I like it.

Reminds me of the whole "The Striaton gym leaders are the Shadow triad". theory. Which I loved hearing that theory. A shame BW 2 shot that down though. It be cool to see a memory link like system in Sun and Moon that gives us backstory to these two more.

While Dexio and Sina being in SM makes it seem like they're good, and I don't want to get my hopes up for more layers added to the plot of those games, it would be pretty neat if the reason why Dexio and Sina were asking the player to help gather the Zygarde cells in Alola was... more sinister in purpose. It may be a far stretch at this point, but I want to believe that there's more depth to Dexio and Sina (and Prof. Sycamore) than XY let on.

It would be a pretty awesome twist if they either steal the Zygarde cube from you when you fill it, claiming "it's for the greater good", and then you need to chase them down before they use it for evil.

Or if they wait for you to summon Zygarde and try to capture it or steal it.

Both are unlikely though sadly :(

You guys have basically hit the nail on the head with what I was thinking! I was excited to read through your replies honestly - you even went further in a few places than I had even thought about. I really wish Pokémon would add it as a twist in Sun&Moon. I especially like the idea of them swiping the Zygarde cells from you one way or another!
