Well, I'm trying to decide for a physical sweeper in my Emerald game for the Battle Frontier. I have narrowed it down to Gyarados or Swampert. It's a little hard to decide, and I was wondering which one I should use. These are the other two Pokemon on the team:

    Sceptile @Scope Lens
    Modest 252 Sp. Att / 252 Spd / 6 Hp /
    Leaf Blade
    Dragon Claw
    Substitute
    Leech Seed

    Regice @Leftovers
    Modest 252 Hp / 252 Def / 6 Sp. Att /
    Ice Beam
    Thunderbolt
    Toxic
    Protect

I am leaning towards choosing Swampert because it is a lot more stable. With Gyarados, it can either preform really well, or horribly, while Swampert is more consistent. Gyarados disappoints me a little because of its lack of powerful STAB moves. One time, after 3 Dragon Dances, it couldn't KO a Venusaur with Return in one hit, which I find a little pathetic. But Gyarados does have a good ability, and a more impressive Attack stat. Swampert though can take physical hits really well, and can sweep after using Curse. It's ability to take special hits is a little shaky, but still usable.

Well, I just need help deciding which one I should use, or if I should use a completely different Pokemon. If you need to know Swampert's or Gyarados's movesets and stats, just ask.

    fixes = bold.

those moves are a bit wacky, at least thats what i think.

Gyarados is scary to all Skarmories entering with Spikes/Roost.

Buut, its the BT so get a Swampert, its more helpful.

I made some fixes in your team for the battle frontier.

Its BT, three Pokemon per set. I would go Gyarados for a sweeper, Swapert is more of a tank. Depends on what you prefer, 0 Electric Weakness, or 100% Elelctric Weakness.

Swampert is much better. Why do you think everyone carries HP [Grass] instead of [Electric]?
3rd Gen Gyarados isn't near as good as Swampie.

    Sceptile @Leftovers
    Modest 56 Sp. Att / 252 Spd / 200 Hp /
    Leaf Blade
    Dragon Claw
    Substitute
    Leech Seed
    fine subseeder.

    Regice @Leftovers
    Modest 252 SAtk / 124 Def / 136 Hp /
    Ice Beam
    Thunderbolt
    Thunder Wave
    Protect/Amnesia

    boltbeam/support

    Swampert @ Leftovers
    Relaxed
    200 Hp/136 SAtk/124 Atk/56 SDef
    -Surf
    -Earthquake
    -Ice Beam/Roar/Mirror Coat
    -Protect

Protect scouts for a grass attack. switch if it is.

I seem to remember how battle frontier haxes you so much with double team and other cheap moves, personally id suggest Gyarados with taunt to stop that happening so you can Dragon Dance up and sweep.

    Try this

    Gyarados@Leftovers/Lum Berry
    Adamant Nature
    214 HP 16 Att 180 Def 100 Speed
    - Return
    - Dragon Dance
    - Earthquake
    - Taunt

    Classic BulkyDos

Swampert has only one weakness, and thats a x4 Grass. And thats not a common type.

    Gyarados has numerous weaknesses

id def say swampert it has stuff like take down and its only weakness is grass but gyrados has loads of weaknesses

well id use swampert on the fire types, rock, steel, and ground , regice on the grass, ground, flying, dragon, water, and to poison them, and sceptile on water, rock, ground, and dragon. Hope this helps.
