Im sure some of you guys know about this, but we can surf and dive on Kyogre! I didn't take a picture of me surfing on him, but here is a picture I took of me diving on him while I was catching Lugia.

[PokeCommunity.com] Surfing and Diving on Kyogre!!

This is so cool. I wish they spend like an extra year drawing all of the pokemon to follow/surf on. Seeing all the trainers with pokemon following them sometimes makes me wish they followed you in game.

I'm so happy to see gamefreak adding on to features like this. I freaked out when I saw you can surf with kyogre, sharpedo, and wailmer. This game is perfect. The only additions I would enjoy would have been if they made the shiny animation and sound effect the same as ruby and sapphire, and I would have loved more surf pokemon like milotic, wailord (now I wont evolve wailmer) or gyarados.

I also wish they did make the pokemon follow you and if they are big, they can just come out of the pokeball if they can fit.

Seeing animations like the regi's, it totally makes me wish they followed you. The game really has tons of replay value with high leveled elite four, re versing trainers

Glad they took off the STUPID SHINY LOCK.

Why did they have that in the first place?

Game Freak's Kyogre bias is pretty ridiculous.

It was evident when they gave it a type advantage against Groudon at first, but that wasn't too bad since Groudon was still a badass, but they really drove it home with the remakes. They made it so Primal Groudon has a 4x weakness to water? Uh, hello? Why not at least give Kyogre a type that's weak to Ground? Nah that'd actually give Groudon a fighting chance! But that wasn't enough, they had to make sure Omega Ruby had the inferior evil team. I mean, in R/S they were pretty comparable, but here Team Magma are just a bunch of nerds. Who wants to fight nerds when you could just fight awesome pirates? Seriously.

Now they make it so you can actually ride Kyogre? What the hell? What do Omega Ruby owners get besides a badass red dinosaur? Shiftry? Oh right, Sapphire has the best Pokemon. (Ludicolo) If Omega Ruby had Ludicolo I wouldn't be complaining as much but clearly Sapphire had to get all the good things. It's bad enough that there's too much water so it's not like you won't ride the damn thing a lot.

GF, make it so that Groudon is rideable on land and treat Ruby equally to Sapphire players. This is inexcusable.

In Groudon's defense, this time around his Primal version is loads better than Kyogre. You mention that he gets a x4 weakness to Water, but you're forgetting about Desolate Land. Primal Groudon's ability makes all water moves fail. This includes Kyogres', so long as Desolate Land was activated after Primordial Sea. If Primordial Sea were to be activated, the only thing it negates are Fire moves, which Kyogre has no reason for fearing in any way.

Also, Team Aqua and Magma really just depends on what a person likes. I prefer Magma waaaay more than Aqua. They come off as more "professional" [at least in comparison], serious and calculating. Courtney and Tabitha are way more interesting to me and Maxie comes off "darker" and way more intelligent. But I digress, that's not what this post is about!

I think it is extremely interesting how they did that with Kyogre! I absolutely love the idea of being able to actually see the Pokémon I'm riding, even though I would never give Dive to a Kyogre. Surf, maybe, though I prefer Scald.

I think I may have also seen an image online where someone is riding on Sharpedo? I may be mistaken, but if that's the case then that means Kyogre isn't the only one that does this. Not entirely sure, though.

I'm also extremely interested in seeing if a shiny Kyogre would appear shiny when ridden. That would be extremely cool. xD

Nope, a simple re color would be nice yet they never did this for any of these pokemon that you surf on and lapras in xy.

I really think they should have made a new zone like where you can go in the volcano only if you "Ride Groudon". It would have given us the option to ride him.

YOu should have been able to walk around in the volcano like ride the underwater seas. In this zone you can find cool magma pokemon at high levels since you can only access it after the game is complete. Perhaps magmars, or other fire type could have made a spot in the wild pokemon in the magma zone. It would have been cool to go in a special suit allowing us to go in a hot volcano and ride on groudons back. They really should have thought this one out.

Huh. That's sad, but I don't really mind. It's cool that they did this in the first place.

Eh, I don't know. I wouldn't say they didn't think about it. You need to keep in mind that creating a completely new area with a new game mechanic would take a lot more resources than you'd think, especially if you're adding a new type of "gameplay" with the whole riding on his back. Although cool, it seems a tad unnecessary and I'm not entirely sure it would add all that much to it, though that's my opinion, of course.

    *cough* Desolate Land *cough*

No water type moves will work on it when it is activated, so that 4X weakness is effectively junk (unless you have mega rayquaza I guess).

Apart from kyogre, wailmer and sharpedo also get models. I have seen sharpedo being able to swim much faster than the other water types, which is a really nice relation to its pokedex entry.

Also, the villainous team argument is purely subjective. I love Team Magma, and I love the new ones even more. I actually think the new Maxie looks a lot better than the old one. I'd rather battle him than a bunch of pirates.

Just saw Gravity, guys. Too much outer space, too many space suits. 7.8/10

I wish more pokemon had special surfing mechanics, or they sped everyone up to Sharpedo's speed.

Maybe by gen 10 we'll get a lot more diversity with surf and fly that we're starting to see now.
