need a bit of commentary, how's this?

    Steelix
    EVs: 252 Attack/252 HP/6 Defense

    Rock Slide
    Taunt
    Toxic
    Block

figure i'd use him to keep whatever i'm fighting in battle, sound good?

    Steelix@Leftovers
    Explosion/Rest
    Roar
    Earthquake
    Protect/Sleep Talk
    * Stalking Steelix is fun, I must say...

    item:ironcoat/leftovers
    moves:
    earthquake/hyperbeam
    crunch
    irontail/sandstorm
    torment/attract/protect/toxic

    Item: Kings Rock/Leftovers
    Iron Tail
    Dragon breath
    Earthquake
    Rock Slide/Crunch/Double Edge

    Rock Slide
    Earthquake
    Iron Tail
    Dragon Breath

Meh, I've never used Steelix in battle. I guess I got a bad impression of it after my Lv.27 Quilava sweeped Jasmine's Steelixes.

Meh, I can never understand why people ruin Steelix with bad moves...

    Steelix@Leftovers
    EV: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Att
    Nature: + Def/Att, - Sp Att
    Earthquake
    HP Steel/Toxic
    Rock Slide/Explosion
    Roar/Explosion

No no no! How many times must people make the mistake of putting Iron Tail on Steelix? HP Steel is the only reliable Steel attack worth getting, even Meteor Mash misses more often than is good for Metagross. Iron Tail is reserved for the weak and the desperate Pokemon (since it's about the only way for Pidgeot to damage something like Golem, unless you count HP Fighting), and Steelix is neither of those - decent attack, monumental defence, and has a nice variety of moves to use.

Tooth brings up a valid point, only something like CB Tauros should ever use such a move. Also, Taunt is impossible to use on with Steelix, it WAY too slow to even make a difference.

I wonder how many people would be trying to self boost against a pseudohazer to begin with instead of just smacking it down with special attacks...

if i was using a steelix as a strick tank, how about this?

    Steelix@Leftovers
    Nature: Relaxed (+Special Defense,-Speed)
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Special Defense

    Toxic
    Roar
    Earthquake
    Rockslide

yea yea i know you're supposed to usually take some form of attack with EVs, but with this wouldn't i be able to take a lot more damage? i mean yea, i'd be hoping that toxic did most of my damage, but with leftovers and all the special defense training, coupled with the fact his defense is realms beyond anything else in game, i'd like to believe this is a good call.

Even with max Sp Def EV, Steelix is still screwed against his weaknesses (Fire and Water). The fact that Steelix is marginally faster than Dusclops might provoke me to go with + Att, - Sp Att nature instead. Steelix flinching anything is annoying, Steelix flinching without paralysis is just fun for the user

Too bad his HP sux balls ._.

Anyway, m00b, quake, slide, and roar is the way to go. He doesn't have the defenses to last all battle while you wait for Toxic to take its toll. ANd he DEFINITELY isn't fast enough for Rock Slide to make them flinch >.<

sux balls: Sucks bubble gum balls, you know those lollies that have bubble gum balls in the middle?

What were you thinking, Tig? O_o

We all know what it implies... don't run around the gap in PC rules. Just because mod lounge is (safe to overgeneralize this ^^) completely lazy and hypocritical, that doesn't give you the power to follow suite and fall from the grace. Watch the language. PE2K and PC work a bit differently from one another.

    As well, don't double post.

lol and of course Dusclops have low hp... or else, it'll be another Pokemon up in the deadliness of the calmcune rank =/
