2nd Gen Staryu ! Which rod ? Night or Day ? ( Silver Version )

    I'm trying to find a Staryu to have it in my Silver Team. Its area is Route 34, Olivine City and Magohany. I went to Olivine ( After beating Morty, so I'm not to advance in the game ) and a guy gave me a good rod ( the only one I got ) and I started fishing, day and night,( in Olivine ) but Staryu never appeared ... :(
    Only krabbys

    If they are catch by other rod, where can I find it ?
     
    You are in the right place and Staryu only apperars at night, but I only catch them with a super rod, so unitl you find a super rod, you are out of luck because i don't remember were it was. but i'll find out.

    Thank you ! You were an excellent help :D But now I must find the super rod... :\
     
    Just glad I could help, and when you do get the super rod, any water pokemon you hook will be Lvl. 40. just a warning.
     
    Here's all the Staryu info for silve.
    Silver- Route 34, Olivine Harbor, Cianwood City, Route 40, Rout 41, Cerulean Gym (All fish). At night with anything but a old rod.
