Hi all, this is my first actual post on the forums!

I'm trying to start my own card grading business, I have a website in the works, a relatively small team, and slabs/equipment ready. I wanted to know how I can actually get my business on the road? How could I get my name out there?

    Thanks!

There's many ways to get out there, but right now, as funny as it sounds, TikTok is a great way for advertising. Pokémon and other tcg's are popular on TikTok and if you blow up it's a good thing. Of course it's not a guarantee but if you were to do good on TikTok it would boost you.

Another would probably just spreading word and probably showing people what you do and how you do it. More people are willing to believe what they see rather than just take someone's word for it.

Maybe a compare and contrast as well as why they should choose you over other companies. Maybe you put more effort. Maybe you have a company with above average qualifications. Whatever makes you better.

Ofc all the stuff I listed are just basic ideas. If you want to improve further you can. I don't know a lot about these things. Just enough to get by.

I hope this helps and if it doesn't that's fine too. Have a great day or night.

Honestly, I have no advice to give you, but we definitely need more options in the TCG grading business so I wish you luck!

Soooooo my life nowadays basically revolves around buying and grading Pokemon Cards... 😂😅

One major issue you're going to have is that during the Logan-Paul Pokemon boom, hundreds of new grading companies started out and now the market has become overcrowded and a lot of companies have died out or been left behind. This also means that graded cards have dropped in price on the resale market which is not great as there are now so many graded cards from different companies on Ebay not being bought. Grading is a strange business, I'd like to think most people just want to keep their cards in great condition by putting them in a case but there is definitely a financial aspect to it as well, although a lot of people won't like to admit it. I think it's a really tricky time to be getting into the market unless you've got a lot of money to throw into advertisement. You'll also need to be extremely consistent with grades and Quality Assurance.

Personally I'll only ever use PSA as they have the reputation, I'd also buy a Beckett 10 if i ever came across one for a decent price, never happened before though!

One Company i do have a lot of respect for is Tree Frog Grading, https://www.treefroggrading.com. They're a small UK based grading company which really cares about their customers and are realistic in where they are in the market, worth checking out their Facebook page.

If you do move ahead, I'd happily give you a bit of publicity on my youtube channel HitmonTV. Probably wouldn't do anything but the offer is there... 😂

Mind if I steal this info and add it to our resources list in the rules? We've got an ongoing list going with any information players and collectors might need, and having a UK based option for grading is fantastic!

    Absolutely, go for it!

Awesome, thank you! Once anyone here gets their roots planted in making a grading company, I'll be sure to add you as well. :)
