Starters revealed! Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile

IMMEDIATELY SCREAMED when they revealed the starters.

Obviously going for Chikorita. But I also want Totodile! I want all of them. It's also about time Johto starters get some love, at least.
 
Kinda wonder why they went with 2 of the starters being from the same region, but I don't really care that much, I wasn't really going to be picky about the starters in this game. Also have to wonder if they're getting their own Mega Evolutions (which is more likely than regional forms for this game) or not.
 
Quite interesting that it wasn't as much of a generational variety compared to Arceus, but I do wonder if they'll follow the Legends precedent of having regional evos.
However, with the return of Mega Evos, they could just get those instead.
If GF wanted to be really ambitious, you could choose to evolve your starters to their Kalos regional forms or evolve them to their original forms, but these original forms have their own Mega Stones.

Either way, I can't wait to explore Kalos with Totodile!
 
It's weird that they chose two Pokémon from Gen 2, but it's understandable. I guess they had to avoid Kanto & Hoenn starters because of the already existing megas, the Kalos starters because they'll likely be all available, starters from the latest games because they're too new, and Sinnoh starters plus Cyndaquil and Oshawott for obvious reasons, so their options were pretty limited. At least one Johto and one Unova starter were basically guaranteed, also those starters didn't suffer much from overexposure (poor Snivy though...)

I imagine they'll give something new to Meganium, Emboar, and Feraligatr. I hope it's a regional form and not a Mega evolution, because regional forms are pretty much guaranteed to make their way into the main games, but megas will likely remain stuck as a niche for this game due to being incompatible with each gen's new gimmick.
 
I'm definitely going with Totodile! Here's hoping he (and the other two starters) get a mega evolved forme, although I wouldn't be against having a regional forme, either. We'll have to see. Tis major to finally see the starters for Z-A!!!
 
I like the starters that they chose here. All three could use a little bit of a boost.

I will be picking Chikorita.

I think the starters will get regional forms and the Kalos starters will get Mega evolutions.

Starters regional predicted types:

Meganium - Grass/Psychic, I can see the antennaes opening like a third eye with a more wavy neck flower. Strong special defence and attack, ok speed Hidden Ability- Inner Focus

Feraligatr - Water/Poison, The Sewer Croc. It will be a deeper blue with more subdued spikes and faster than regular Feraligatr. Hidden Ability - Corrosion

Emboar - Fire/Rock - Gains rock like armour and rock head as a hidden ability.
