    Southern rap.

I am an avid listener of this type of music. Southern rap...well, I won't get into details since the web sites below can do that for me. In short, Southern Rap is rap/hip-hop originating from the Southeastern United States. Probably the most recognizable type of rap originating from Southern rap is crunk and chopped/screwed music. Some recognizable artists from the South are Lil Jon, Mike Jones, Geto Boys, Arrested Development, Trick Daddy, Outcast, Master P, and 2 Live Crew.

Here are a few websites concerning, describing, or anything that is southern rap:

I'll probably add a few more websites on this. Any listeners besides me?

Don't forget David Banner. I'm an avid listener of this too. ^^

I can say I'm an avid listener to the dirty dirty, but I honestly don't know what avid means..XD

Mike Jones. When? Back Then. That's all I hear at school so I decided to check it out and I love it! XD

Eh, I don't really like rap, but I don't know if it counts, but I bought Cowboy Troy's CD 'Loco Motive.' (Yes, there's a space between Loco and Motive, if you get it.) Don't know if that counts as Southern Rap or not, though, even though it's rapping to country music. I luv CT!

Not a big southern rap fan. Outkast is really talented though. I like to bump me some Young Buck too. :P

Would Lil' Flip be considered southern Rap? And don't forget the Ying-Yang Twins.

I don't think Lloyd Banks is not a southern rapper....not too sure.

Oh really?? :\ Hmph...I coulda sworn YB was from down south. I read a review of his album before I downloaded it and from what I remember it said something about him being from the South. I could be wrong though....

Well, I was not too sure. he probably is. o.o

If you're talking about Young Buck, he is from the south, since he is from Nashville, Tennessee. If you're talking about Lloyd Banks, he would be considered an East Coast rapper since he is originally from New Carrollton, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C.

Yup...I was talking about Young Buck. And Nashville does sound right, now that you say it. :P Wow...got something right for once. ;)

leave it to The Fly to have the answers. ^^
