So frustrating to train, but so worth it in the end...

Do you ever train a very weak unevolved Pokemon for the purpose of its powerful evolution? Do you keep it in your main team before it evolves, or grind it when your team gets to its evolution level? Do you think it is worth it to train these Pokemon?

I, myself, actually currently have a Tynamo in my Pokemon White team. I've had it since Chargestone Cave, and I just beat Cheren at the entrance to Twist Mountain. Tynamo is weak, and incompatible with any TMs, but Eelektross, on the other hand... :) Just gotta reach Lv39.

How about you guys? Do you train any weak Pokemon for the strong evolution? Discuss!

I think all pseudo-legendaries are a pain in the ass to train, but definitely worth it in the long (and I literally mean long) run. I mean, they are pseudo-legendaries after all. Some others that come to mind are Magikarp, Feebas, and Solosis. Yeah I suck at thinking rn. lol

Yup, happens to me a lot. Tynamo is a great example, along with Feebas, Bagon, and Draatini. Well worth it in the end though.

I don't usually bother raising pseudo-legends, I raise a team of well rounded Pokemon that gain EXP at nearly the same rate, I only train pseudo-legends if I'm dex filling, but even training them is even more difficult then normal Pokemon, I could imagine it being useful when playing in-game story though.

depending on the type of pokemon you have it wilkl evolve at a higher level such as tyranitar metagross. this also means that there basic forms are puny. but it's worth the hard work in the end with powerful pokemon

Dratini and Larvitar are great examples. They take forever to become strong, but once you've evolved them into their evolved forms they kick ***.

Occasionally I will train psuedo-legendaries, just recently, while I had Tynamo, I trained a Deino I received from an egg, which took forever to become powerful.

Do you keep it in your main team before it evolves, or grind it when your team gets to its evolution level?

I kept both Tynamo and Deino in my team, and they were very innefective for quite a while. However, in return they became absolutely kickass once they had fully evolved.

Do you think it is worth it to train these Pokemon?

Competitively, sure. In-game, sure. I love to train Pokemon that are quite weak at the beginning, being forced to use strategy, otherwise the game is quite linear, especially if its BW.

Raising defensive pokemon is a real pain, but it pays off because you'd be surprised how useful they can be, I especially love Shuckle.

I think ones who barely know a thing/are really weak at first can be annoying to train, but are worth it. Ralts being one of them(was irritating that it only knew growl? to begin with).

How about Togepi, who only knows Growl and Charm? Then, all you got is Metronome. I'm glad HG/SS gave the egg Togepi Extrasensory. Once Togepi becomes a Togekiss, he's one of the best Flying-types there is.

Deino was a pain to train because it kept rolling over and dying, even when I EV trained it. That problem didn't occur often when it became Zweilous, but it was totally worth it when it evolved into Hydreigon. I faced a similar story with Tynamo.

Yeah, Tynamo was irritating to train, but Eelektross was far more than worth it.

Yes I do, for example Deino evolving so darn late -_-"

I keep it on my team reguardless how weak it is; if i really want that Pokemon, I will train no matter what

Do you think it is worth it to train these Pokemon?
Yes because at the end of the game or day (or whatever) they are powerhouses most likely

For me, training isn't so much frustrating as it is time-consuming, for the most part.

However, the one Pokémon that I find worth my while to train until evolution would be a Deino. That thing takes an age to get into Hydregion, but once it gets there, the heads are going to be rolling all over the place!
